Great, all around. They always come through with supplies and new gear.

I am very impressed with staff here. There was an error made by an old employee that caused some chaos. Carlos, one of the managers, handled the situation like a customer service pro. He went well out of his way to make things right, and this was very appreciated. They seem to have a good stock of paintball gear and a modest supply of Airsoft guns(which I hear will be increasing in size). I have spoken with a few different employees, all of whom were nice and professional. If you need paintball gear or Airsoft equipment worked on, try Goldenstate.

These guys were awesome right from the get-go. I walked in and was greeted immediately with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. After getting to know my playing style and level of experience, they helped me find an airsoft rifle that was perfect. After I got home, I found that one of the magazines wasn’t really fitting properly like it did in the store. After calling them up, they offered to replace the mag, or give me store credit. I went in again, they replaced my mag, and that was it. No upselling, no attempts to push anything I didn’t need, and very efficient service. I don’t know why I didn’t start here from the beginning. Keep it up!

My boy is just starting with paintball and we came here for a replacement part for he used marker we bought. James was awesome! Very knowledgeable and accommodating. This was not our planned shop, but from now on, this will be the place we come for our paintball needs. Thanks again James. We could not have asked for a better intro to paintball.

Horrible customer service and they knowingly ripped off my son! He had been saving his money for an airsoft gun and they sold him a broken gun! We went back the next week to have it replaced or repaired and they wouldn’t do ANYTHING. I know in most cases this is dealt with the manufacturer, but considering he had not used it yet and it was broken on the INSIDE, they clearly knew about it. They were also adamant that we sign the waivers that we understood that we had to go to the manufacturer for repair and not them. Had not had that before and now understand why. I would NOTSHOPHERE — go to Velocity instead. They are great and very helpful BTW, it is still broken and doesn’t work. Really a bum deal for my 13 yr old. He is out $ 250 with a broken gun– shame on you, Golden State.

Been paintballing for the last 8 years just recently upgraded from a ALIENREMAINS to a DM-14 so of course i had to upgrade to better paint. So i set out to get the best paint for my buck. At first i was skeptical of buying house paint. But the GM– James new his sh*t from the brand of paint i would preffer for rec ball to speed ball. also had a vast knowledge of old school guns to new school so i thought i would give it a try. The paint was dam near competiton grade and the best part about it was it left a scent of bana in my enemys face. Dont get me wrong if the paint had blown i would Definitely be writing a complete opposite review, but i cant he was spot on with this house paint. Thanks Golden State ill be sending my squad your way also BIGSHOTOUTTOJAMES. GOODLOOKINGOUT

Awesome store! I’ve been paintballing for around 15 years and I’ve recently got back into it. I’ve been to countless stores and fields, but these guys know their stuff and paintball players. I Just stopped by in for a case of paint and had a friendly conversation with their general store manager, James. They’ve even got scented paint too. Shot one of their cases today and it shot pretty close to competition grade as well evenly and cheaply priced and it’s scented as we’ll leaving the player you hit several times smelling like a banana or watermelon. All in all, if you got questions about paintball or equipment or pro stuff even or events, they know what’s going on. I’m definitely coming back here again.

I walked in here on an empty saturday afternoon, i just started and bought some stuff, and wanted to get my tank filled, worried i would get criticized, i was welcomed, and had all of my annoying questions answered. The two guys running the store were extremely kind, and provided solid advice, i highly reccomend this store, everything you could need, friendly staff, cheap prices !

What can ya say… great selection of Paintball and Airsoft gear. Knowledgeable staff and good prices. You won’t mush any«used» type gear here, but they have all the best stuff here at good prices for both airsoft and paintball.

My partner always gets his gear and paintballs here. For a mall little store they’ve got a lot to offer. Everything from guns to backpacks to carry your gear. The staff if great and knowledgeable in the sport since they also pay and coach on the side. It’s good to have staff who know their stuff. It would be nice to see some female representation in gear!

Stopped by today really just to chat and get some info about the sport. I am looking for an activity that my son and I can do together and paintball sounded fun. I know little to nothing about it but the guy here took the time to answer all my questions and give me advice knowing I wasn’t going to buy anything. 5 stars for customer service.

This place has everything you need, friendly knowledgeable staff, and is right near any of the local fields you are planning on playing. Check out the La Mesa and Oceanside store as well. Plenty of fresh paint and new items for the weekend warriors out there. I’m not sure about some of the reviews on here, as the tech done by the staff is great, and the prices are on par or better with any. They almost always have a huge selection of paint, unlike the other local shops.

These people are bandits. Know the price real price of what you purchasing or pay too much! I was told the price in store was $ 20 more than the website for a $ 49 item! Thieves! You can buy some some of this stuff at the paintball parks and for a fair price instead.

Came here to have them look at my Tippmann A5 air leakage issue. The front counter lady was kind enough to let me try out different type of O-ring on my air line, as well as let me hook up my gun to their gas tank making sure no leakage. Would drop by again.

So this is a repost of a previous review that I had originally posted on the La Mesa Store’s page by mistake. My interactions with the people at the La Mesa store have always been great and I will not hesitate to write a good review for that location. My experience with Golden State Sports started when I decided to take my gun in for a repair. It had begun blowing air out of somewhere in the gun, and given my limited knowledge of high end markers, I couldn’t fix it myself. I dropped the gun off on a Saturday and asked them to give me a call when they figured out what may be wrong. NOCOMMUNICATION — After two weeks of not hearing anything, I called the store to see what they found out. The person who answered the phone told me that the paintball tech was off that day, but he would make sure to call me on Monday to give me an update. Another week went by before I called again to see what was going on. Again, I got the same answer that the gun tech wasn’t in and I would get a call on Monday. Another week rolls around and I called again. I am informed that they can’t make the proper repairs and need to send it into DYE. Great, it took a month to figure that one out. I was understandably upset and wrote a scathing review on Unilocal!about my experience.(Probably not the smartest thing to do considering they still had my gun). OFFEREDME A BRIBE — Finally, 6 weeks after I originally dropped off the gun at Golden State I get a call that my gun is ready to be picked up. The tech explains that the manager wants to knock $ 50 off my bill if I remove my negative Unilocal!review. Because I was already spending a fortune to get the gun working again, I decided to take that deal and use the money to go play the following weekend.(That explains why my original review isn’t up there anymore). GUNWASSTILLBROKEN — So I get to the field, gas up the gun and… its blowing air out of the reg. If that wasn’t enough, the reg was seized and I was unable to field strip it to figure out what was wrong. I ended up having to spend the extra money on a rental. I was extremely upset RUDEONTHEPHONE — Upon the discovery that my gun wasn’t fixed after 6 weeks, I called the store and explained the situation to the clerk who had answered. His response was, and I kid you not: «Well dude, I don’t know what to tell you.» Really, REALLY? TELLMEYOUAREGOINGTOFIXMYDAMNGUNTHAT I PAIDFOR! So I bring the gun back into the store so they can fix it right this time(hopefully). This time around it takes them an hour to diagnose the problem and call me. The answer was«It looks like whoever put the reg back together did it wrong.» MmmHmm, and who might that be? I’m pretty sure it was YOUR responsibility to make sure the gun was in good working order BEFORE it left the store. Guys, the bottom line is that, Paintball is a struggling sport. There aren’t too many shops that stay in business for terribly long(Borderland in Miramar, Splat Factory in Clairemont and the Poway Velocity Store have all closed in recent years). Wouldn’t it make sense to try to provide the customer with the highest level of service to ensure return business? The people working at the Miramar Store act like they don’t want to be there themselves, much less help the ONEPERSON that is usually in the store looking around. Which brings me to my last point. I’ve been in that store a few times, there isn’t a lot of foot traffic. Are you telling me that you were so busy it took you 4 to even take a look at a gun to diagnose a problem? Sorry guys, I’ll drive the extra half hour to Velocity if I need anything.
