Ghosts and Gravestones Tour San Diego

Are you serious? I have done several other ghost tours around the country and several unique to San Diego. This was a dangerous travesty.
The only thing scary about the tour was the trolley driving of our tour guide through a winding-​no guardrail-​hilltop street into and through a residential neighborhood (which was at least 50% of the tour time btw) at dangerously high speeds while blasting x files music late at night. I was more afraid of getting a shoe thrown at us by an angry homeowner then anything presented on the tour.
Our guide was rigid and monotone. It was like Ben Stein was trying to tell a ghost story and forgetting his lines-​our our guide claimed to have helped write the tour and do the research.
While we were careening around in the trolley at subsonic velocity our guide kept mentioning stuff over the loudspeaker like «the sherrif of X date to X date lived in this house and it is haunted now» and that was literally all we got. Never even pointed out where the heck we were supposed to be looking.
Total joke. Waste of time, money, and stress from the concern that either boredom or bad driving would result in a trolley full of fresh ghosts for the next tour.
Save yourself the trouble and pick up a copy of «Haunted San Diego» and drive around with an eyepatch or two at top speed having someone yell passages from the book at you in their best Bobcat Goldthwaith (sp?) impression.
It’s about the same thing and way more exciting to explain to the cops.

Booked my spot online earlier so I thought, put my card in and everything, system had an error because it said I would receive a confirmation email and then I never received one.
Called customer service to make sure everything was ok and they said they were sold out and couldn’t help me, it’s my last night in town and now I can’t go! Seriously so annoying especially since this wasn’t even my fault!

I’m going to give this tour 5 stars because it was a good, fun time for the price. Our ghost hosts were really entertaining, knowledgable, imaginitive and they made the tour a fun, creepy experience. And for all the people complaining like they are a spoiled 5yr old, yes you walk part of the tour and the last part you take the cool, creepy trolly to pionner park. Also bring your cameras and hopefully you will catch something like one of the peeps did in our tour.

This was different. I still had a great time and I’d probably do it again. Takes you around old town, a park and the Whaley house at night

Took this tour last night, it’s a good tour but needs to go to more haunted places in San Diego. It took us to a park that had gravestones in the back. The trolley is super creepy and old, it adds a lot of character to the tour, our tour guide was funny and knowledgeable, told us some stories that are really interesting. I would recommend this tour again, but not with the Whaley house, that is another Unilocal review… I would give this 5 stars but for the price, I would think we would have more stops on the trolley of doom.

If I could give this 0 starts I would!!! Before buying tickets I specifically asked how much walking there was as my mother just had her knee replaced. We were told that there was minimal walking that most of it would be on the trolley. Well, it’s 10:39 and the tour started at 9:30 and we had yet to set foot on the trolley. We had to leave the tour as they were walking to the graveyard because my mother could not walk anymore. Very disappointed!!! Especially since we asked the person who sold us our tickets how much walking there was. I will never take a tour from this company again and I would suggest you not either!!!

My friend and I were visiting San Diego an wanted to do something different, so we signed up for this tour. We thought it would be cool on a Friday night. it is Not worth the money. The Tour is very cheesy. The tour guide was friendly, he took time to ask us where we were from however the tour itself was lame. The trolley took us to Pioneer Park, the guide talked about how Elm trees are hard as cement, how the roots will strangle other trees. He told us a few stories and showed us a few Graves. Then we went to the oldest cemetery, which was near the the Whaley house. We paid extra for the tour of the Whaley house. The Whaley house was part of the tour, it was rushed. There was 3 tours going on at one time so our guide said to us «hurry up and take pictures, we must keep moving». He told us ghost present themselves in 3 ways: hearing, touch and smell. He told us to take pictures because often times images will show up in the pictures however didn’t give us enough time to take pictures and look at the room, it was so rushed. I would not recommend this tour, I wish I didn’t waste my time or money for this tour. You’re Better off doing something else.

Took this tour last night. Well worth the money. The tour was very entertaining and informative. Our entire group seemed interested and entertained as well. The tour is about 50% walking and 50% on the trolley. When you board the trolley they provide you with a small light to navigate around the sites (pioneer park, old town cemetary, and Whaley house).
Will definitely return.

First off, this tour no longer goes down to the maritime museums to talk about the ghost on board the Star of India. It no longer goes to the Gaslamp quarter either. Tonight’s tour, while well guided ONLY went to Pioneer Park, which is actually a cemetery. Interesting, but that’s the only place we visit on the trolley? I liked going downtown and hearing the ghost stories that abound the Gaslamp, I liked hearing the stories at the maritime museums. Even the old walk through the cemetery was better than tonight! Tonight, we talked about 2 graves, then headed into the Whaley House. Frankly, I miss the old tour 8 years ago, where we went into the William Heath Davies House, the Villa Montezuma, the cemetery in Old Town, and the Whaley House. But this hasn’t been done that way in years. 2 years ago I went on the tour and learned much about San Diego’s dark History, we walked through the graveyard and heard several stories, before walking down to the Whaley House. I did hear that they are working on getting access to the Star of India and the Villa Montezuma (when it reopens after foundation restoration is complete). If they don’t raise the prices when those visits are added, the tour will be worth it. Right now? Save your money. Kinda wish I had.
