BE AWARE! UNPROFESSIONAL, DISHONEST and FRADULANT! I made an appointment for a noisy garage door and on the first visit the service person diagnosed the problem as lack of lubricant. He wanted to charge me $ 85 for spraying the hinges and spring. I opted to just pay the $ 35 home visit fee and spray the hinges and spring myself for $ 5. After spraying the door, I noticed little change in terms of the noise which upon closer inspection was coming from the motor. At that point, I phoned for a second appointment and told Laura that Abel had misdiagnosed the problem. During the second visit, Abel confirmed that the problem was with the chain motor and stated that since my model was no longer being manufactured that I’d have to replace the entire unit. I told him that I was interested in something comparable to my old chain motor. I agreed on his recommendation for a LiftMaster chain unit. After he installed it, I noticed that it was even louder than my previously defected one. After bringing up my concern to him, his response was that this is how that particular model works. I found this worrisome, but since I don’t have much experience with garage motors, at first I trusted his answer. During this same visit, he also failed to install the wall switch to open/​close door. He simply didn’t know how to and blamed it on the part being faulty. Even if so, which I highly doubt, he should have been prepared and brought spare parts. Since the install was not finished, a second appointment was schedule to finally install the wall switch. Unfortunately, no one showed up or even bothered to call and notify me. I phoned Laura and explained to her how incredibly disappointed I was with the terrible customer service up to that point. She apologized for her service person not showing up. I also went ahead and explained that besides the wall switch not having been installed during the first visit, the new unit was too loud. I actually noticed the chain was vibrating and incorrectly rubbing up on a metal part causing most of the noise. She recommended upgrading to a belt drive unit that would be quieter and that she would give me a discount for my troubles. I told her to write me an email with all of my product options and owed balance for each one, for which she did. Given what I thought was an honest quote with a customer discount, I opted to upgrade to the belt drive unit. On third visit, Abel took down the poorly installed LiftMaster chain unit and installed a Marentec belt drive. At the end of installation, even he noticed that the door was opening/​closing very slowly. He stated he would try and call Marentec the next day, but since there were no error messages that it was probably correctly installed. Next, I give him the check for the balance of $ 185 quoted to me by Laura in her email and he says that I also have to pay him the balance for the first installed LiftMaster of $ 250. I had already payed $ 50 deposit on top of my initial $ 35 during the first visit. Now, he was requesting $ 250+$ 185. I told him to have Laura call me because that was not her quote on her email. Sure enough, within 10 minutes I get a call from Laura. To my surprise, she now had a new quote different from her email. This was completely absurd and upsetting. I told her that had I known today’s quote, I would never have upgraded. It felt like a classic «bait and switch». She and I agreed to have Abel come out the following day to uninstall the Marentec unit and reimburse my check for $ 185 which I payed as quoted in her email. I also asked her if she would return my $ 50 deposit since all I had gotten was terrible service and nothing in return. She said she would ask «corporate». Interestingly enough, all other prior decisions had been made by her without need to ask «corporate». Needless to say, I was never reimbursed my $ 50 deposit. Moreover, Laura calls me the next morning to cancel the appointment she had agreed to stating it was Good Friday and that they are a Christian company. Seriously, even if that were true (doubtful), she knew that during prior phone call and failed to appropriately schedule me for the appointment. I had to wait another three days with a poorly installed unit until Abel finally took down the unit and reimbursed only my $ 185.
BUTTOM LINE… the same service person failed to come to two scheduled appointments and incorrectly installed two units, the office person didn’t stand by her price quote, and I got ripped off for $ 85.

I had a great experience with this company! Had an emergency with a garage door (the cord came off the pulley). I called at about 2:30pm and received a call back within 5 minutes. Abel came out (after a long day and a call in El Cajon) and fixed my garage door. There was no «after hours» fee, no «emergency call» fee, just straight out honesty. He quoted me the repair cost after taking a look at the door and was finished in under an hour! He’s out of the North County branch, but was kind, honest and really did a great job!

Garage door springs and cable wire needed adjustment — did show up on time in the evening and corrected the problem — the door was just off a little bit on one side which I noticed once there was adequate morning light — called and the technician did return but said ‘that’s because of the slant of the garage floor, funny how it wasn’t like that prior and to top it all off — another $ 35 furl charge! Would not use them again.

Actually, they lowered the price to 49.00. Either way forcing someone to pay something for NO SERVICE is absurd.

Horrible customer service, horrible timing, late for every appointment, didn’t install the correct door, did not double check anything, caused me 3 days of pain and angst!!! DO NOT USE THEM!!! This was a nightmare! I would recommend using anyone but them!!!

Our Garage door failed to open one morning, and it was a bear to open and get our cars out. Called Garage Door Solutions, and they promptly came out, the same day, and diagnosed the problem and provided a very reasonable estimate. After approving the estimate, they did the work, in a very timely manner, job area was very clean and the job turned out great. Leuta the owner came out a month later to adjust and check on things & provide lubrication of all the joints and hinges and made sure everything was right.
