I was ready to start looking to buy a house and had no idea where to start. I did a bit of research and connected with Yasmine Kouza, who could not have been a better loan officer. I was nervous and unsure if I was ready but she helped me get comfortable and most importantly knowledgeable of what I was going to go thru and should expect to make sure I was prepared. She walked me thru every step of the home buying process (even the steps you’re not always made aware of until after you complete escrow) and was available ²⁴⁄₇ whenever I had a question or concern.
It’s been two months since I’ve closed escrow and until this day she checks in to make sure I’m doing okay. With her help escrow went smoothly and closed in 17 days! If you are looking for a loan officer that is supportive, knows all there is to know about the real estate business, works hard, and has your best interest at heart, then Yasmine is the one for you! I can’t say enough good things about her! She truly is amazing!

The company itself is not too bad — their rates are pretty competitive, although it seems like Absolute Mortgage rates were a little better but we didn’t have the time to switch. But there were a couple hiccups that I felt could have been avoided, and my main problem is with the service/​attitude when we had a problem near the end of the loan process. FirstCal delayed the loan by a week and a half because they didn’t catch a couple properties my clients had until we were funding — I feel they should have known about them from the beginning — but the problem is they only do a superficial credit search in the beginning, and don’t do a complete credit check until the end when funding. So the delay could have been avoided if the full credit had been pulled earlier.
Then at the end, we gave specific instructions not to fund until we gave the ok — we were still negotiating something with the sellers’ side. The loan officer, Yasmine Kouza and the processor both promised they would run it by us first before funding. Then later they completely ignored their promise and worked out the funding with the SELLER’S side escrow without letting us know! We were shocked! We got no apology but only attitude –they were trying to blame the victim. Unbelievable. It showed immaturity and lack of professionalism. So I can’t recommend Yasmine Kouza.
