I called Albert out to clean my fireplace when he was done it didn’t ignite. He told me it would cost about $ 300 to $ 400 in parts plus the labor to fix it. I have been in the remodeling trades for over 30 years so i decided to take a look my self. With in seconds I discovered loose wires from Albert vacuuming. Once i connect the wires it worked fine. I feel bad for the homeowners who do not have the knowledge and would have to pay that amount for his carelessness. When i called to tell him about his mistake and that i fixed it Albert offered no refund. Nice guy and did a great job cleaning it. My recommendation to Albert is take your time on the trouble shooting.

I met with Albert on extremely short notice which was huge given my fireplace redesign problems. (and the time factor breathing down my back). Albert evaluated my situation and gave me some options to consider. It was what he didn’t do that impressed me the most: he didn’t give me promises he couldn’t keep. He was honest in his assessment of what could realistically be accomplished in the given time frame. I appreciate that as I could have rolled the dice with some other contractor who promised that certain work would be done… then fail to achieve that. It would have been a nightmare for me as I have other work being done that hinged on the fireplace work. Albert gave me straight answers of which then I could derive my own conclusion. I would recommend FireTech, especially Albert, for your fireplace issues.

Albert at FireTech was wonderful. He and his assistant were very knowledgable, efficient, polite, courteous, respectful, and reasonably priced. Prior to finding out about FireTech, I previously called a local fireplace store and tried to get them to come to my house to repair my fireplace. Unfortunately, the fireplace store appeared to have limited resources in the area of service.
Then I found out about FireTech. They showed up at the scheduled time and were prompt and efficient in determining what was causing my electronic ignitor to fail. They even wore booties in my house, which, to me anyways, indicates a high level of professionalism and competence. I am very happy with the service provided and will definitely call them next time I need a fireplace serviced.

Having just gone through an extensive remodel of our home including no less than seven different contractors, my wife and I have reluctantly developed some expertise that will serve us and, hopefully, you, with future contractor selections. For us the quality of a contractor boils down to three things; integrity, competence and fairness.
Firetech scores highly on all counts. You have to be comfortable with the people that come into your home. Integrity is the key element. Albert, the owner, his dad, the rest of the crew the electricians, drywall, masons, everyone … They showed up on time, communicated well, met and kept to the budget, and covered the only mistake on their nickel. We were completely comfortable having them in our home and with the way they conducted themselves.
At the end of the day, the lasting measure of the contractor is his work. We are so pleased with our new fireplace. It is the centerpiece of our family room, the most widely used room in our home. All of the crew and subcontractors took great pride in performing their work and did so with excellent results. I am certain we will be enjoying our new fireplace as long as we own our home. Albert, please thank everyone associated with FireTech for the great job and the professional manner in which they conducted it.

Alberto called back promptly to make an appointment, and showed up half hour earlier. He quoted be $ 90 just for the appointment (a two hour block), and «minor repairs», which is a very loose term in my book. Then half way during the appointment, changed his price to $ 150 + $ 80 for the part that he needed to order to complete the fireplace work. So we went to from $ 90 to $ 230 just like that. He said he will call back same evening to confirm when the part will arrive and to make the next appointment. It took 5 days to get a hold of him, then I made another appointment a few days later. He came by and fixed the fireplace in under 1 hour. Professional but very expensive.

I can not recommend Albert at FireTech highly enough! He was recommended by Wilshire Fireplaces who are the best in town… he was knowledgeable, professional, courteous and best of all HONEST. We had been told by another company that a new fireplace would be required due to the lack of a replacement part however, Albert went in and methodically disassembled, cleaned and reassembled the unit which now works like a dream… all for a $ 90 service call. He also services the fireplaces at La Valencia so he is used to being clean, neat and efficient. I can’t help but wonder how the two negative reviewers (one from a person and one from a pseudonym) could have had such a different experience until I looked at their other reviews. Both «reviewers» have the exact same opinion of two different businesses… hmmm what are the odds of that? People… don’t abuse Unilocal and trash peoples reputations. If you have something meaningful to say, say it… otherwise go punch your pillow!

Our gas fireplace was working just fine and then all of a sudden one day it wouldn’t start working. Called a few places around town and they couldn’t come for at least 3 weeks and was charging $ 150+ just for diagnosis. Due to the long wait times the companies recommended calling Albert at Firetech along with a few other companies which may have shorter wait times. Albert was the only one available within the next 3 days.
Albert came over the very next day, on time, diagnosed and fixed the issue within half an hour (faulty override switch plus a short in the on/​off switch). Total cost was less than $ 100. He explained what was wrong and how to properly maintain our fireplace.

Excellent service! very good about returning calls, flexible to get an appointment scheduled, and right on time for appointment (2 hour window, much better than most that require 4 hour window). Friendly, polite, respectful of home. Repaired fireplace in under an hour, turned out to merely need a good cleaning, no parts at all required … good about showing and explaining what the problem was.

Albert came to my place and diagnosed the problem to be the igniter… He Ordered the part, and gave me a quote of approx $ 200 (btw the igniter costs about $ 20 after searching for it online). That was a big time misdiagnoses, and next time, he is said the problem might be with the valve and quotes upwards of $ 450. Yeah right.

Albert comes across as a nice guy but the service was a total ripoff… Charged us $ 200 just for a part that costs $ 34 on amazon and the fireplace didn’t work at the end of that. 0 starz.

So our fireplace hasn’t worked in about 3 years… It was one of those things that we just kept putting off-​convincing ourselves that we’ll get to it later.. Well, this winter has been freaking cold! And it’s suppose to rain again this weekend-​and well I thought it would be perfect to stay in and watch movies with the fireplace on after all these years-​so I called someone to fix it-​they were not knowledgeable on my fireplace, therefore the guy recommended Albert. I called… He came over with in an hour-​fixed the fireplace-​literally in 2.5 minutes! It was super fast! All these years-​we sat in the cold for no reason!!! He fixed it in under 3 minutes…
Well, he was incredibly Professional, knowledgeable and has Great Customer Service… Also was incredibly affordable! I highly recommend him if your fireplace needs a fixing ;)
