Best place to eat in Point Loma, if not San Diego! If you want prime rib, I PROMISE you, you will not get any better than Fiddlers. I have eaten here about a million times and I’ve ordered the prime rib about 99% of the time. All the other dishes I’ve ordered are top notch as well. I also recommend the tuna! Great atmosphere, great prices, great drinks!

Came here couple months ago with friends. It was ok. Ambience was whatever. They seem to have their regulars. I forgot what I ordered but the main thing I can remember is that our salad order had a green bug in it! Crawling all over the place! Luckily the plate was white for us to see. That’s pretty much a done deal for me and I will not be coming back!

This is our favorite place for steak dinner, the meat is fantastic and there are real baked potatoes.(but there are other things available.) The food is consistently good. The vegetables are not over cooked and the side salads are fresh. The service is always friendly and the owner cordial. Boat and waterfront ambience and a nice crowd. Good prices. Some nights there is a piano player, some nights sailors winding down after a good race.

Love this upstairs dinner place. The walls are super duper decorated with split boat plaques. I like it. Sat at the center of the restaurant sand fire pit. Of course. Prime rib in order.

this place is the land of washed up drunk local sailors. Service was pathetic and prices a bit steep. You gonna charge make sure your beer is fresh…

Stop here for an awesome bar and great restaurant. Today we stopped in for dessert after our thanksgiving dinner. The atmosphere is mellow and relaxed, we ate crème brule, brownie bottom sundaes, Apple and pumpkin pies and some coffee to finish off our holiday. Great bar and killer food!

If you want to be treated by some of the nicest people! Come to Fiddler’s for a drink or dinner. My husband and I were enjoying, the last night of a well deserved holiday. We Unilocaled Fiddler’s Green and decided to give them a try. Well, the night started off perfect with a Rum Punch. Wow, so delish and no holding back. I had a Steak and my better half had a Seafood Alfredo. My steak was cooked so right. I’m not kidding at all, but the steak really was enough, for two people. We both enjoyed their version of Clam Chowder. Instead of the usual, it had a bit of a citrus flavor. Really satisfying. Fun Venue and in a great neighborhood.

Really, really disappointing. The place was empty; no energy at all. Our server was indifferent at best and the food was marginal. This used to be a great hangout for visiting sailors. What happened?!

Still going, the New York steak was SOGOOD! Cooked the way I told the server, not to bloody. They had my favorite tequila and the key lime pie was insane. Apparently they make all the desserts in house from scratch. My friend was stoked on the bread pudding. Thumbs up

Fiddlers is an awesome restaurant with a maritime atmosphere. Tons of drinks like my favorite blue cheese olive martini. Thr prime rib and fish sandwich are amazing. I got too full, but no regrets. On Fridays the organ player slays the keys playing most any request.

I’d give it a zero if I could. How this place has managed to stay in business so many years speaks to the poor taste of Point Loma residents(despite the money in the area), coupled with the utter lack of other acceptable options in the area. Food is awful, the management is terrible, and the building just looks decrepit. You are better off going to Mitch’s, or Old Venice, or Harbor Town if you are nearby. I have know several people who worked there over the years, and everyone of them hated it. Avoid it if you can.

No wonder this place is for sale — you might want to avoid the frozen food and bad cuts of meat. Let’s hope the new owners know something about food.

Came here to celebrate my friend’s birthday. He’s been having a hankering to go to this place since he frequents the Brigantine and Fiddler’s Green is right across the street. The ambiance: Seaman kitschy, that’s the best way I can describe it… haha. If you’re into seaman kitschy, definitely hit this place up. The service: We were greeted upon entering by a ship’s captain looking fellow and asked to wait outside while a table was prepared for us. Our waitress was rather disorganized but in an endearing fashion. She kinda reminded me of the grandma I never had: very sweet yet very forgetful. The food: We ordered the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer, he had the rack of lamb and I did the prime rib. Our shrimp cocktail arrived only featuring a total of 5 shrimp and while they were jumbo shrimp, the price did not justify the portion. We both substituted the soup that came with our meals(at no additional cost) for clam chowder which I highly recommend doing. The rack of lamb lacked seasoning but came out cooked to the rareness of my friend’s liking. The chutney that accompanied the lamb was a traditional touch and helped add some flavor to the meat. My prime rib was a hefty portion, cooked perfectly medium-rare, and came with creamy mashed potatoes and an assortment of vegetables. Prime rib definitely trumps rack of lamb at Fiddler’s due to earning more flavor points. Only complaints: my friend’s IPA came out warm and our bread took half an hour to arrive at the table.

Great food and customer service. Love their new breakfast menu: Crab Benedict and Steak and Eggs are excellent.

The place is cool, the décor is fun, the service is great and the Jazz music was great for ambiance but food was not up to our expectations. The menu doesn’t have variety. We finally had fish and chips which was not more than ok.

Came here tonight for a late belated Mother’s Day dinner with my family. We’re huge steak eaters, and this visit was nothing but disappointing. The staff was extremely nice, which was the only reason why we didn’t return our food and get our money back or at least ask for a different plate. During our visit even another table returned their steak twice. I had the prime rib which looked like it wasn’t even seared and asked for it medium, the whole steak was the same color pink throughout the middle and a grayish brown on the outside and was extremely dry. To top it off the chicken in our quesadilla was cold. No idea if it was just a bad day but we probably won’t be giving this place a try again. BUT, complaining does not make a business better, my recommendation is to have your staff ask more probing questions when your guests are mentioning items are cold and when someone eats less 1⁄3 of their 25 dollar steak means there is probably wrong. It doesn’t hurt to ask.

Great food! The clam chowder is great. Stakes and Prime Rib are a must. Sirloin is bigger than average 16oz. cooked exactly they way you like. This is Fiddler’s Green so bring your canteen(for you military if you know what I mean).

I visited San Diego for the first time with a very good friend of mine. I searched Google for best steaks and this place popped up, we got excited, because we’re steak guys. The menu was appealing so we decided to check it out! When we walked up the stairs to go into the restaurant we were greeted by a very friendly front of house staff(first impression of the place is always important), so we applaud you on that. The young female host sat us at our table. We were sat next to a family with kids, something we don’t normally like but the live Jazz music in the restaurant deemed to be a good enough distraction. We both ordered steaks, I ordered the NY Cut, a $ 30 steak on the menu, I believe it was the most expensive, too. My buddy ordered a smaller strip, medium well, while mine was ordered medium rare(I love the blood and no I’m not a vampire). The drinks served were measured well, not too stiff, not too light(nice job bartender). Our steaks were served. They appeared delicious until I cut into mine. Unfortunately our server mixed up the requests for our steaks to be cooked at. Mine was served medium well, more on the well side and my buddy’s steak was served medium rare, more on the medium side. The restaurant was busy, so we didn’t want to bother having them re-fire the steaks. Plus we’re nice Seattleites! Other than that the service was great. We’d visit you guys again but hope that next time we order steaks they’re prepared better. Thank you!

Great great great service. We really enjoyed the food and the décor. Love looking at all the old boat hulls! Will definitely be returning for the prime rib, but I want to try their seafood as well.
