History

Established in 1985.

Harold and Shirley Pidgeon started Fashion Furniture in 1985. Originally located on Miramar Road, Mr. Pidgeon saw the opportunity of several apartment communities being built in the La Jolla area. Through hard work, outstanding customer service and consistent upgrades, Fashion Furniture Rental now offers more leather sofa colors and the best office systems furniture for lease in the industry. We keep growing and expanding today with the goal of providing premier service to our clients throughout Southern California.

1985 — Harold and Shirley Pidgeon started Fashion Furniture Rental.

1987 — Sons Brian and Mark Pidgeon join the company.

1994 — Fashion announces «Next Day Delivery»

1996 — Fashion offers its own top quality bed lines, ChiroTherapy and Pillow Top.

2004 — Fashion launches sister Home Staging company, Parker Rose Design

2007 — Fashion launches sister Model Home Outlet Store, Furniture Heaven!

I have been renting executive rentals for over 20 years. FASHION FURNITURE lives up to its name.
In other companies, the head rests of recliners in fabric smelled like oily scalp odor, the fabric was worn or uncomfortably hard… but FASHION FURNITURE’s inventory was Clean, comfortable, stylish, pretty and the service was exemplary.
MICHALENE makes this company with her kindness, patience and very accommodating service.
If you find a nicer, kinder, more professional person anywhere… let me know. I don’t think you will…

We rented from Fashion Furniture this past January. Could not be more satisfied! Ms. Fox was superb in assisting us with just the right package for our 3 month stay in San Diego. Furniture came before our arrival. Set up was perfect. Even set the table for us! Couch, chair and bed are extremely comfortable. If you need to rent furniture, you will not be disappointed if you go with Fashion. They are a five star company!

I think it is a good solution for people who temporary live in the region, and they are very efficient. However, I had a number of issues after closing the deal, which are reported below in my original review.
In the sake of fairness, I need to report also that after I published my bad review in Unilocal,I was contacted by the general manager of Fashion Furniture, who sincerely apologized for all the inconveniences, recognized their faults, and leaded the process until a very satisfying solution was found.
Still in the sake of fairness, I’m rating the business according to my overall experience, and not only to the happy ending. Had I not reported my experience at Unilocal,would I get a solution?

It is a good solution for people who temporarily live in the region. The staff is very nice, until you close the deal. They delivered on time, and were very efficient on setting up the furniture
I do have a few problems with this place:
a) Furniture is not fashion at all, only reasonably decent, and from that point of iew, expensive. My dining room came with chairs in 3 different colors (blue, black, brown), and they sent me an unusable coffee table that did not correspond to what I ordered.
b) Be aware that once they send you the furniture, in particularly if they deliver a piece of furniture with problems, there‘s no way to fix the situation without paying, even if it is not your fault.
c) In case of problems, they do not return calls, do not answer emails, and people are quite unfriendly and impolite on the phone.

Very impressed with Fashion Furniture from start to finish. Lisa Van Sickle was a pleasure to work with; she coordinated my furniture and house ware needs and set up my delivery appointment.
The delivery guys showed up right when they told me they would. They were extremely professional, mindful of my freshly painted walls and detail oriented.
I couldn’t believe it when I saw them thoroughly cleaning each drawer of the dressers, wiping down all the furniture and making sure the mirrors were spotless.
I thought I’d be at the apartment for hours while they set up and was dreading having to go to Target or IKEA to fill in anything that was missing from the apartment.
To my delight, the delivery was finished quickly and the apartment was completely ready to go! No dreaded IKEA trip needed.
Thanks for a great experience! Highly recommend this company.

I’m currently renting furniture from Fashion Furniture, and while I really like the living room set, I do have a few problems with this place.
1: We called before we moved to ask if they have king bed frames as we have a Tempor Pedic and were bringing it. They said they did. Upon delivery, they gave us a California King, not a standard King frame. When we called and said that frame wouldn’t work, we were informed that they don’t typically carry standard king frames. Um, hello! We called and asked, and you said you did! Fashion ended up buying rails to fit a standard king, so now our bed’s not on the floor. But to be frank, I’m pretty pissed they misled us about what they carry, and my bedroom doesn’t look finished without a headboard for the bed. Seriously, not cool. If you say you have something, you’d better have it! If not, buy it so I can get the finished look I was going for, not some college look with a bed just on rails!
2: They charged a $ 50 change fee to switch out the furniture. This should’ve been waved as it was their fault they gave us the wrong bed size. Yes, we exchanged some other furniture too, but given their mistake, the least they could do is wave the fee.
3: the linens for the bed don’t come with a fitted sheet.
4: On the plus side, they have Aveda products that are part of the bathroom set.
Bottom line: this place did try to fix the bed situation, but they didn’t do a very good job. I wanted the headboard we ordered because it completes the arrangement, but now I’m left with basic rails. Plus, it took my husband getting pretty frustrated with them before they were willing to even get rails. The furniture we got for the living room is really nice, but overall, I’d have to say this place doesn’t quite cut it for me.

CONTEXT:
I went to Furniture Heaven, Fashion Furniture’s sister store, to look for a desk for my home office. They told me that though FF is usually for rental furniture, they do sell office furniture like desks.
LIKES:
1. Friendly, prompt service
2. Clean
GRIPES:
1. Location is relatively hard to find, even with a map
2. Flier says open till 6 pm, but it’s only open till 5:30 pm! The flier definitely needs to be updated.
BOTTOM LINE:
Looks like they have a decent variety of furniture you can rent, but if you’re looking for a desk for a home office, they’re really big. I couldn’t find anything here that fits. (Yes, that’s what she said.) You may want to hold out for Furniture Heaven, Ikea, or even Craigslist if you’re looking for a smaller desk.

Best local staging company in SD hands down. Gives designers and homeowners access to a modern variety of furnishings, accessories, etc. Things that make it the best for my use: access to one-​on-​one personal service to help develop and execute your plan, more of a modern aesthetic (better for today’s consumer), decent designer rewards and incentives. Couple of areas that could stand some improvement: more consistent and easy to manage pricing and breakdowns; always looking for a one month lease in this market with investors and the pricing never pans out for my clients; need better accent pillows!
All in all, I never go beyond a call in to Fashion Furniture because I know the quality of furniture and customer service will always allow me to do my job to the best of my ability. Also, I think they have a new inventory driven search feature with pricing which, once developed, will save everyone a ton of time and money!
