Our toddler has been attending ELCA on Taylor st. for the past 4 months and it has been wonderful. It was difficult to make the transition to daycare, but we have absolutely no regrets. The teachers there are caring, attentive, and have good suggestions (which I really appreciate as a first-​time mom). The director is responsive and engaged in what is going on in the center. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone!

I have a 2 year old and a 6 month old, who are going to elca since they were 12 weeks old. The teachers are very caring. They keep you informed on everything that happens during the day. I feel very comfortable leaving the kids there. My oldest loves it. They have a fixed schedule, but lots of variation in play and learn a lot! They also help with potty training.

I LOVE LOVE EARLY LEARNERS CHILDREN’S ACADEMY. My 4 year old daughter attends and she enjoys going every day. She likes the different ways of learning no matter if its through song, writing or playing. These teachers come up new ideas on how to keep the kids engaged and enjoy the subject they are learning. My daughter comes home with complete joy to show what new number, letter or word she may have learned. I love seeing the smile on my daughters face when I pick her up.
The teachers are very hands on with every child. Each child gets the feeling they are getting one on one time with their teachers in a classroom setting.
The building is keep clean and organized

I am sad that we have to go. Great teachers and administration; very clean facility; very strong curriculum. My son loved going there and I know that he is ready for kindergarten. We will miss you guys!!!

My 2 and 4 year olds began attending ELCA in Old Town last fall and love it. They race into the Center in the morning, all smiles and eager for the day. They are always coming home with a new song or story that they were taught to help them learn the basics like reading and numbers. My 2 year old’s teacher even proactively started potty training after asking us if it was okay. The Center offers specialized classes like gymnastics and music for a fee. The teachers and Center director are always so friendly it really puts your mind at ease when you bring your children in for the day. As can happen at a daycare center there was a lot of turnover in the personnel over the winter but the Center handled it well. There are nice extras provided throughout the year, like a free pyjama party so parents can have a date night, pot luck lunches for the kids on special occasions, visits from Santa, a Halloween parade, ice cream socials, and a spring egg hunt. After all of the angst looking for a good fit, we’re extremely pleased with ELCA.

I’m going to give them a five! I was hesitant at first when we toured after seeing the great reviews from Unilocal.I questioned myself, whether or not it was a good or bad thing to find care for my first born on Unilocal but hey so far Unilocal has a 98% success rate :)
Anyways my daughter is in Room 1, starting day care at 6 months old, and I’ve been very happy with her care and they people that work there. When we initially toured, i saw one of the teachers strongly patting the baby’s bottom, and wasn’t sure what was going on. Apparently she was putting the baby to sleep. Another instance that kinda weirded me out what the way they wrapped the baby’s in their blankets…
But after learning that my own child needed some particular quirks to get her to sleep, I knew that these babies weren’t in danger or in any harm, it was the way to get the babies to sleep.
These teachers are very attentive to the babies. I have yet to see a teacher ignore a baby while they were crying which was one of my fears. They find different ways to entertain the babies rather than just sticking them in front of toys to entertain themselves.
Teachers in Room 1, sing to the baby, play with them in the rocking chair, take them to the window and watch the other older kids play, or play games.
They’ve also been helpful in communicating up and coming milestones for your child. As a first time mom, I wasn’t sure on how to introduce solids, and the sippy cup… they were very supportive and gently guided us, and help maintain the training at school.
The first day in day care is probably the worst day for moms, but i was glad to see on the first day and every day after my daughter looks happy, not stressed, and content.
I will have to add nothing the day care can do about it, but once you’re child is in day care they will be exposed to more bugs. My daughter did get her first cold while in day care, but the teachers were so well versed in this, that I knew she would get the extra care needed when she didn’t feel good (there are rules on when to keep the baby home however).
Another thing that i was very picky about was diaper rash, she did have it at first but this was when we started solids and her #2’s were a lot but once we got a handle on that I do see them proactive, and not leaving the babies in dirty diapers for long. And then the other thing is that kids will be snotty especially when a lot of them are in the teething stage. I’m glad to see that they don’t just roughly wipe their faces, and give them rashes or leave them with raw noses… there is care there.
I’m the mom with the kid that decides to have a blow out on the car ride to day care, and the teachers have been so helpful as i shamely hand them to her, because i needed to get to work, and hand them a poopy baby which they are more than happy to handle with a smile, and keeping baby smiling.
very clean, very attentive, very secure, and they enjoy the kids. I am very happy to have my daughter here.

My infant attended ELCA for 5 months. We had a few bumps at first– adjusting to napping in a noisy room, constant colds, etc. But after meeting with the director and teacher, it has been smooth sailing. We are leaving ELCA, but the only reason is the price. We loved all of the teachers. We feel that our baby received a lot of attention and affection. We will miss them!

My son has been attending Early Learners Children’s Academy for about 5 months now. He loves it! Everyday I pick him up he cries that he wants to stay longer.
There are many extra activities you could sign them up for such as Spanish, Sports and Music. I love all of the adorable art projects they do with him daily. He just turned 2 and he already was taught how to count to 7, reconizing some of the alphabets, spelling his name and reconizing over 10 colors and animals and more. I would recommend this school to anyone. I really like the empahses on academics while having fun. I feel like it is ran more like a preschool than a daycare which is a great value.

Our child attended Early Learners Children’s Academy from the age of 1 to the age of 2. I can’t say enough about the place and the people. They have a well planned program for the kiddies, and seem to really care about them. Miss Melonie, Miss Anastasia, and the Center Director are all awesome. Our child learned a lot while she was there, and often didn’t want to leave.
