Introducing your child to the most popular sport in the world… soccer.

Soccer Shots is the premier soccer class for children ages 3 – 12. We use fun and imagintive games to introduce your child to the basic skills of soccer, healthy lifestyles, agility, coordination, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Soccer Shots does birthday parties, private events, as well as specialty, private classes.

History

Established in 2010.

Soccer Shots was originally started in 2002 by soccer professionals on the East Coast and has grown into a national phenomena. There are different operators on the local level.

At East County San Diego Liz Barker-​Aquino took over in November of 2010. It has been a dream come true to influence children with the sport that has positively impacted her life more than any other. She started playing as a young child and ended up being awarded a scholarship at nationally ranked Fort Lewis College in Durango Colorado. She decided after college that she was going to live at the beach and visit the snow so she moved to San Diego to start her life here. She has now been in San Diego for 11 years and has two children with her husband.

Elizabeth Barker-​Aquino started playing as a young child and ended up being awarded a collegiant scholarship at nationally ranked Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado where she received her BA in English Literature. She decided after college that she was going to live at the beach and visit the snow so she moved to San Diego to start her life here. She has now been in San Diego for 11 years and has two children with her husband. «Waking up every morning and teaching hundreds of small children soccer is such an amazing thing. It is truly living the dream. The coaches that work along side of me are all amazing, qualified instructors that bring life to the curriculum every day. It is such blast on every level!»

Five stars. Absolutely THE best experience your child can get with soccer, especially for younger ones. My son has been doing Soccer Shots with Coach Juan for well over a year now, and my 2 year old daughter was just able to start two weeks ago. I’m a former soccer player (although once a soccer player, always a soccer player, right?) and the things that I’m seeing them teach the children blows me away. These are skills and concepts that I don’t think I was taught until I was almost ten. The best thing about it? THESE KIDS GET IT. They really do! If you’re looking at putting your child into something fun and exciting, this is it. Thank you, Soccer Shots!

Soccer Shots is the most AMAZING program that my nephew has been a part of. The Coaches are so patient with the children. I have seen his soccer skills progress over the past 10 weeks. I sit and watch the children at the parks, they are so adorable! The Coaches work with each individual child, I can tell they really love what they do! My nephew can’t wait for the next Soccer Shots class, each week he tells me, soccer is Saturday right Aunty? The joy my family has experienced with this program has been the best investment we have made. I would reccommend this company to any family that wants their children involved in soccer.

I would NEVER recommend their after school program to anyone unless you want your child to feel NEGLECTED.
I trusted Soccer Shots to keep with their word when they claim they would pick up my child after school. Well, They forgot my child the first day, we called that morning to verify if they will be picking him up and they agreed. We tried calling soccer shots and even left a message about what had happened, but we did not receive a call back nor did we receive an apology. (VERY UNPROFESSIONAL) We figured it was their first day so we let it go. A month passes and after they take the 2nd payment out of our account they forget my child AGAIN! This time the excuse the lady gave me was «human error» and when they do a check in if they find a child missing they send someone to get them. Well, according to my child’s teacher whom was very very upset brought my son to them at 12:15. (Keep in mind practice ends at 12:50 and begins 11:50) They NEVER sent anyone to look for my child nor were they aware he was missing. They were simply playing soccer like any other practice. (Imagine how your child would feel knowing they were forgotten and the coaches didn’t care) I asked my child what kind of check in they do if they do a roll call by name and he said no they just count count and count. WOW counting?! No wonder they never figured out they forgot my child. I paid and trusted Soccer Shots for my child to have fun not to feel sad and left out not once, but twice! This program is in it just for the money. It’s purely not worth the amount you pay for only 1 hour after school once a week for 8 weeks.
The staff needs to go over the way they run their program as well as working on their professionalism.

We have done soccer shots for 2 years. Its a fabulous skill building program. Way better than doing a league where they just run around and try to kick the ball. This actually teaches them to be great soccer players. Love it! My son loves it too!

I have a 3 year old little boy, that goes to Giggles and smiles childcare. They offered soccer shots last fall at his school. I believe it was around 115 $ for 12 sessions. He loved playing soccer with his friends, he learned lots of new skills. On the first day of soccer I said how was it, what you do? He says coach said to sit down and wait your turn. Haha too cute. They also updated me with a email every thursday after their soccer and updated me with what they leaned and games they played. Very awesome program would recommend this to any parent wanting to get their child into a sport.

I have 2 boys (5 & 3) both started soccer with Soccer Shots (both on the «shy» side) they love the classes and coach and are always talking about more classes!!! From a mother’s perspective, Soccer Shots is the best for both instruction and fun, for kids in San Diego. We have tried other soccer options but they do not compare. I would recommend Soccer Shots to anyone.

My kids love going to Soccer Shots sessions. When they first started my 4 ½ year old had no interest in soccer, he was just going along because his big brother seemed to enjoy it. Now he participate in every drill and activity with a smile on his face. Both of their skills have improved significantly and they are really enjoying soccer. We are incredibly happy to have joined Soccer Shots and the coaches, particularly Juan and Liz, are all wonderful.
