Our organization was built to offer our community a unique soccer experience that is grounded in the Dutch Vision of youth soccer development and promoted by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). Because of our unique approach, our programs offer the community a clear choice for youth soccer play at both the recreational and competitive level, not merely «another club.»

History
Established in 2009.
PLSA was Co-Founded by Tibor Deak and Jeff Taylor, with the primary ambition to get youth soccer development «right.» It was about saying «no» to the status quo governing recreational youth soccer that expects «too much too soon» from our children and doesn’t expend enough effort in preparing volunteer coaches for the difficult task of teaching the game. While the solution was obvious to Tibor and Jeff, particularly since it has been promoted by the USSF and USYSA (United Stated Youth Soccer Association) for nearly a decade now, it has not been embraced by many in the soccer community. They decided to change that and PLSA was born.

In games of 8v8 and 11v11, the inexperienced soccer players have too few opportunities to become involved in the game. The situations are too complicated, the players don’t properly understand the objectives of the game, and they don’t come into contact with the ball often enough. PLSA program is a more traditional program that forms teams for competitive play, but allows the kids to thrive by making the games small sided to meet the «Developmental Stage» of the players. Many recreational programs expect 6 & 7 year olds to handle 8v8, a game one notch from the adult game 11v11. PLSA believes this is «too much too soon.» When the game format matches the developmental stage of the players, opportunities to play the ball, learn the game and have more fun increases exponentially for all players! We offer quality soccer training, along with social guidance, to those children with the ability, desire and passion to play at the next level.
