Downtown SD Modern Dentistry

I am very impressed with Downtown SD Modern Dentistry! The employees (e.g. Cullen, Christine, Alma, and Yousif) that I met there are extremely welcoming and patient. The equipment and laboratories are brand new and the place seems very relaxing for a dentistry. Dr. Al-​Khouri is a very effective, professional, and amiable dentist. She promptly gave me a detailed diagnosis after the digital x-​ray and answered my various questions. During a root canal procedure, she made sure that I was comfortable and would mention what she was doing along the way. The procedure was painless and I was in and out the door in 1.5 hours.

Let me just begin by saying that ever since a horribly traumatic cavity-​filling experience about 15 years ago, I have DREADED going to the dentist. Nearly all of my experiences with dentists since that time have been mostly unpleasant and painful (literally and figuratively). So when I was referred to Downtown SD Modern Dentistry by my brother-​in-​law, I was nervous.
I am happy to report I no longer dread going to the dentist! They were able to accommodate me the SAME afternoon that I called in because I had sudden and severe tooth pain. Everyone at Downtown SD Modern Dentistry was incredibly kind, helpful and patient. Colin in the lobby is great, explained all of the pricing with me in detail, allowed me to ask many questions and really made sure I was comfortable from the moment I came in. Yousif, the dental assistant, took my X-​rays quickly and crafted a perfect temporary crown very quickly.
Dr. Al-​Khouri saw me right away and put me out of my misery as quickly as she could. She is an excellent dentist who really made me forget about my anxiety of going to the dentist because she was so gentle and reassuring. She is attentive, caring and really accommodating. As someone who is very sensitive to needles and mouth pain in general, my pre-​root canal procedure was virtually painless.
I really can’t stress enough how grateful I am to have found such a genuine, gentle and effective dentist. I will (and already have) recommended Downtown SD Modern Dentistry to all of my law school friends from out of town looking for a local dentist!

I will easily give this dental office a 5 star review. From the first step in scheduling an appointment (and ensuring it was within my insurance provider) to working out payment (including payment options) and making me feel comfortable both in the doctors chair and in the lobby, this office is top notch. Let’s be honest, it doesn’t matter how good you feel in the chair if it kills your wallet — this office is so reasonable in pricing and it’s obvious they’re willing to accommodate your situation & work with you the best they can. The office is very clean and everyone from the Assistants to the Hygienist and Doctor are very knowledgable and thorough. Not to mention, they do teeth whitening and I highly recommend it. I’m excited to have this office as my new dental office!

Seriously folks, this is one of the all-​time best dental practices I’ve come across, and I’ve been to many dentists in my 66 years. I had a CEREC crown created digitally and printed right in the office, dental scaling (no pain) with laser gum treatment. Wow! Everyone I had contact with was respectful, knowledgeable and friendly and I never once felt pressured to go with a treatment plan that was unaffordable for me. Dr. Christine Alkhouri is my new dentist and I highly recommend her and her team to you. This is the first time I’ve ever posted anything on Unilocal or Facebook but I feel you can’t go wrong by going to Downtown SD Modern Dentistry. Oh yeah, they also have some evening hours and Saturdays too for those who are working during the day.

…in that Cullen handles the ALL the admin. work relating to my company dental insurance, which ends up driving my cost. This service provided, is a huge saving of time and frustration for me;
I feel in good hands with Christine my dentist, who answered a whole host of questions about the quality of materials used and the work in general; Christine has a warm «bedside manner» and then BOOM! — jumps in, takes control and gets the job done which I highly respect;
the office’s hours are structured in such a way that I don’t have to take off time from work. (Saturdays and evenings).

There isn’t enough praise in the world for this office. My entire experience with them from start to finish was the best I’ve ever had at any dentist. Everyone I interacted with treated me like a family member they’ve known for years. Cullen expertly and patiently guided me through all my options and costs with my budget and goals in mind through out. Dr Al-​Khouri is the BEST. She’s friendly, patient, professional, guided me through every step and constantly made sure I was comfortable through any procedure. She made sure if I had any questions at any time to just let her know so she could answer them. Even the assistant Alma was warm and friendly. I like that they have tvs in every room so if you’re waiting for something to dry or cure, they hand you the remote and you can watch whatever you want! I got Cerec crowns for my front teeth and absolutely love them. My friends and family all have noticed immediately and told me how much better they look than before. Do yourself a favor and make your appointment with these guys, you won’t regret it.

Five stars just isn’t enough for this place. Everything from the office staff to the x-​ray tech and especially Christina the dentist was top notch. I have never seen such high tech equiptment in any dentist office. They were able replace my tooth cap in just under 2 hours. They have a laser cutter that cuts porcelain caps, while you wait.(no second appointment needed) Although this was just a emergency visit, I will be making this my primary dentist.

After putting off finding and going to a dentist since my move downtown, I finally found an ideal dental office not far from where I live. I had a wonderful first visit at Downtown SD Modern Dentistry. Firstly, I was able to make an appointment around my schedule without having to wait long. Also, the office is brand new and definitely does not fit into the typical dentist office stereotype. Everything is super clean and fresh. The appliances and tools are new and state of the art, which made the appointment extra smooth so there weren’t any annoying hassles. Also, the staff is very welcoming and friendly. I felt at ease throughout the entire visit. The dentist and staff were focused on providing me with individual care throughout my visit. I’ve already made my 6 month cleaning appointment to return.
