Dina’s Skin Care

I had such a great experience here. I went in for a facial and it was my 1^st one in literally years. She took great care of my skin. I ended up purchasing a pumpkin face exfoliate wash by Rhonda Allison from her before leaving. But the best part is — I wasn’t pressured into purchasing this product! It was merely suggested because it was what she used on me during my visit.

I went to see Dina for an oxygen facial and a microdermabrasion. I was very happy with my experience. For one, I appreciated how Dina started the appointment with a discussion about my expectations. She went above and beyond in my treatment. She did extraction for me even though it was not technically included in my facial. She definitely gave my skin the individualized treatment it needed. I bought a vitamin c cleanser for just 20 $ which I’ve been very happy with. She will text you to see how your skin is doing– what’s better than that?! I will go back!

I’ve never had a facial like Dina’s! She is so caring and thorough; my skin was very dry and layered. Dina has totally repaired my skin, and she goes the ‘extra mile’ in her time and loving care. I recommend her highly!

Dina really knows what she is doing and tailors a skin care regimen to the individual. Why waste $$$$ trying this and that only to find it doesn’t work? Dina will recommend product specifically for your skin problem. Her products are REASONABLY priced, as are her services. Not to mention that Dina is a sweetheart and really cares about her clients. Wanted to update my review and let everyone know that Dina is still the best! Always so patient and willing to work with me to help my skin look it’s best and I’m always in love with my eyebrows that she does! Every client I have referred to Dina has loved her work just as much!

Dina is such a sweet lady, she genuinely cares about her clients. I went in with a terrible breakout and she’s been determined to help me. She gave me tons of samples for me to see what might work on my skin, she checks in with me often to get updates about my acne, even let me come in for free extractions. The acne facial helped a lot and I’m really happy about her genuine customer service.

How time flies. I’m 34 now and still seeing Dina for facials and waxing and she’s great as always. This year’s weather has been crazy, I switched medications, and my poor skin started breaking out like I was 15 years old. I was using 3 step Clinique system from Macy’s like I have for years to no avail. Lucky for me I went in for a facial and Dina was on it!
She did a pumpkin mask facial and I asked what she recommended as far as product. She recommended Rhonda Allison «Mandelic» and «Antioxident Serum» for night and an acne peptide for the Morning on freshly washed skin. She also recommended I switch my make-​up to something more breathable since I’m a sucker for full coverage make-​up, but I wanted to see if these products could work with what I would naturally throw at them. She gave me a couple of samples for cleanser to see what I liked best and I was on my way.
The three products were completely worth the cost! In just 8 days my skin was under control again. I ended up getting the Epicuren Clarify Cleanser when the sample ran out. I didn’t end up changing my make-​up or meds, just switched up my skin care to some high quality product. It’s been a few months now and with only using 2 drops of each product a day the bottles last a really long time.
High quality products were totally worth the investment and Dina definitely works with you like a skin care coach to make sure you’re not wasting your money on something that doesn’t work for you.

I treated myself to a 90 minute facial with Dina a couple of weeks ago. If you need to de-​stress, relax and feel pampered, get a facial from Dina — I swear she has magical fingers. Love, love, love facials from Dina.

I found Dina on Groupon a month ago and my skin is thanking me! I have been getting microderms and peels once a month for several years but my skin continued to have poor texture and breakouts. Once I took Dina’s professional advice and bought her products, my face started looking better. I know products are expensive but I was so willing and ready to change my skin and it paid off! Dina did not pressure me to purchase anything she just made a suggestions according to what my skin needed.
If you are looking for someone who is completey dedicated to you and your skin issues, you have found her!

I first went in to see Dina for a back massage and facial about 6 months ago & have been back numerous times since then. Each time I’ve been in to see her she has been very warm and welcoming.
In the last few years, large dark spots have started appearing on my face, I believe from sun exposure and genes. The most prominent were one in the middle of my forehead (about 1.5 — 2″ or so in diameter) and one on each side of my nose that looked like tears going down my cheeks. I did not think much could be done for them or, at least, nothing that would be effective in my price range. So, I figured I would continue to cover them up with makeup as best as I could. When Dina saw them, she mentioned she’d helped others with more severe pigmentation and, over a period of a few months, she was able to help lighten mine, as well. It is still a work in progress, but my dark spots are significantly lighter and now require less makeup coverage.
I purchased a series of 6 microdermabrasion sessions, which got rid of the dead skin cells and made my skin feel soft and look more radiant. I am planning on doing another round soon. I don’t know how the service compares because I have never had microdermabrasion done by anyone else, but the price seems low and Dina always made sure I was comfortable by placing a cushion under my knees and offering me a blanket when I was a bit chilly. She also plays wonderful, calming music, which is so relaxing after a stressful day at work.
I was not familiar with the products Dina sells when I first started going to her, but she suggested a few that she thought might work for me & kindly offered me samples before I committed to buying full-​size products. She did not want me to be stuck with a product that wasn’t compatible with my sensitive skin. She has always shown concern about how the products were working out with my skin. For example, she asks questions (via text or follow-​up appointment) like: How is your skin doing? Did the product help with breakouts? Did you notice a difference? Was the product drying? Was it working? Did you notice any lightening of the dark spots?
Dina carefully considered if a product would work for me before recommending it. One of her first recommendations, which I use nightly, can be purchased from Target. When I found products elsewhere (foundation, BB cream, & sunscreen), she wanted to check the ingredients to make sure they would be okay for my skin and did not try whatsoever to get me to buy only the products on her shelves. Although, I do use some of those, as well, and I like them. When I went in for follow-​ups after trying new products, Dina would examine my face & we would talk about the products I was using and how my skin was doing. Dina was very patient and persistent, as I tried a several products before we found a few that worked for me.
I definitely recommend Dina! Her prices are very reasonable, and she is a lovely person. It is clear that she loves what she does & that she is sincerely interested in helping her clients.

I have been going to Dina for about 15 years — she is amazing. She truly cares about her clients and what their skin needs. I have had facials from other places over the years — spa’s, hotel spa’s on travel, and a few around San Diego, but I’ve yet to be as satisfied as the treatments I receive from Dina. She really makes a point to get to know you and your skin, and tailors the facial to your skin’s needs. She does make recommendations on products she sells, but also suggests items you can purchase at chain stores. (I use a mixture of both things I can get at Target or wherever, and her products). Sometimes I go in for one kind of facial, and if I appear stressed or whatever, she changes things to be more relaxing. Then sometimes I havent been good about my skin routine, and the treatment changes to correct that. She really cares about your skin, your needs, and is passionate about it. Many of my friends are now her clients, and all of my kids now goto her for their skincare needs.

«Give Credit where credit is Due»…Especially when it comes to our face.
I moved to SD a year ago having to look for a new place to get monthly facials. I had tried 3 other places but I felt for what I was paying they were in a hurry and it was a superficial cleansing of my skin and they mostly wanted to immediately recommend chemical peels etc. I tried a few and didn’t really see the benefits.
I’m an RN as well as do a lot of public speaking so I take pride in trying to get my skin to look its best especially for speaking events.
I found Dina via Groupon.
I cannot express how immediately I noticed the difference. She was extremely professional and you can tell it was not about a business but she loved what she did. She spent so much Time not only on my face but making sure I felt pampered. Foot massage, hand massage. Something NONE of the other facial salons had done. I truly felt as if I was at a Spa… And I’ve been to MANY. She takes the time to do extractions which many don’t. And she texts before and after treatments to follow up.
She never tried to push her product. She encouraged me to save money and finish the products I had at home. After over a year of looking I found the PERFECT person I can trust with my face And see the difference.
I TOTALLY recommend Dina’s Salon.

Wow. What a dear person Dina is. Always so happy. It’s just plain contagious! A big smile and then treated as if I was their most important client. My wife enjoys the special attention too. So nice to find such a caring individual!

I should’ve known not to come back here after the first try. While Dina is clearly passionate about her career, it is safe to say there is some ulterior motives here.
When first meeting Dina she was pretty nice. I got a groupon and she honored it. She then attempted to upsell me multiple times (both with product and another special kind of facial.) I said I would stick with what I got but scheduled another facial to see what it was like. she wanted me to buy product. If I bought product from every person peddling product I’d probably be 20 k in debt. Dina does not understand this. During the second facial she cleaned her room while I had a mask on.
Dina does not like Muslim people. When I was speaking to her about my loved ones and family, I menationed one was Muslim. She acted very dissaprovingly and said they were trying to take over the world through marriage.
My last scheduled facial, I arrived ½ hour early as per her request. She refused to do the facial on me b/​c I would not buy her precious product. Again, if I were to buy every product from every person out there who claimed there’s was the cure all I would be massively in debt or at least have a sh*t ton of product I do not use that sits in my bathroom and then gets put int he landfill and rots and pollutes the water.
I do not find her professional. I do not find that she is non-​judgemental. She wants to get the most money so she will not settle for just doing a facial with no products bought. I simply do not agree with this method of business. If it weren’t for her intolerant remarks I would not have left this review. It’s sad that in 2015 people still think and speak like this. I hope this is a lesson learned.

Decided to treat myself to a facial for my birthday. Big mistake.
I was the first client of the day. The owner introduced herself, «I’m Dina and I have a savior.» Okay, weird, but the place is decorated with cherubs and to each her own, so I didn’t say anything. Just gave an awkward smile in the hopes that we could get on with the facial in silence.
She had for some reason blocked out an extra half hour on top of the hour I paid for, and she proceeded to spend the entire time harassing me about Jesus. Immediately I launched into the placating thing that is sometimes effective when a young woman feels threatened. Big eyes, nodding, silence, placid face — don’t do anything that might give this person cause to harm you physically. Go along with everything until you’re out of danger.
«We are all serpents, we have the serpent, the seed of Satan inside us! We are all cheating on our husband Jesus. It truly is a marriage. Jesus is our husband, our father, our sister!»
She asked me if my relationship with my roommate was physical (it’s not), then went on to liken me to Eve, talking about sin, and then saying that my parents’ marriages are going to end badly because it is forbidden in the bible to divorce and it is evil to remarry. Also, homosexuality is a sin, and mixing religions and races never works (I’m Asian and European).

Halfway through I began to have real concerns that she was going to sacrifice me on her table like a lamb. I made a concerted effort to relax, keep my mind clear, pay attention to what she was doing and not be distracted by the insane sh*t coming out of her mouth.
She applied a pumpkin peel, «Tell me if the pain is too excruciating,» and I was grateful for the distraction of physical burning from the warnings of eternal burning, which, to her, were obviously more than metaphorical. At this point she began to weep into the pumpkin peel and had to blow her nose (I was beyond caring much that she washed her hands for only three seconds after this — yes, I counted. I take hygiene seriously).
«The earth is a new Sodom and Gomorrah and Judgement Day is coming! It really is coming! You must read the bible, you must take Jesus into your heart and know him, really know him!»
Et cetera. Et cetera. Et cetera. The entire time.
If this woman had approached me on the street, I would have called the police.
I’m a bit concerned now that she has my phone number; I even created a «throwaway» Unilocal account to post this, but my roommate wisely reasoned that our household has more firepower than even an Israeli is likely to have on hand.
Anyway. Aside from being so very, very, unbelievably unprofessional and a complete raving lunatic, Dina was … well meaning? She certainly seemed to have the best intentions. She also scares the living Jesus out of me (get it?).
Hasn’t anyone else had a similar experience with her?

I have been going to Dina for over 10 years! She is the only person I let touch my eyebrows. She takes her time is very thorough and careful with my eyebrows. I love the way she shapes them and spends time on me. I would definitely recommend her to all my friends. She is also a very nice person and easy going. I enjoy my time there!

Dina is simply the best. I have been going to Dina for quite a few years. She gives the most wonderful facials and massage. I always look forward to my appts with Dina. She really cares about your face. The facials are so relaxing and I have fallen asleep at times. The treatment room is very relaxing as well as her table. When you are done, she will make recommendations for care and product but is not pushy. She has even made recommendation of less expensive product I could buy myself. She follows up when she has used a new treatment on me to see how my face did. I love Dina and I thought it would be good to finally post a review for her. She is a well kept secret, but you won’t be disappointed.

Just wanted to say again how grateful I am for Dina. I have visited her a few times this past year. I came in for a facial which was so relaxing. The room she works in is so peaceful, you’ll want to stay there all day!
I’ve also had a few Dadashi treatments to help even out my skin which was very helpful. What I visit her the most for however, is brow waxing. Dina is simply the best. I have very straight brows and she is amazingly able to create a nice arch where none was. She takes her time and is so gentle. A truly caring person who is very good at what she does. I highly recommend her services!

When it comes to facials, Dina does amazing work. I have learned so much about my skin from going to see her.
She uses the best, crème dela crème of facial products. Talk about being pampered! You MUST check it out if you want to treat yourself.
My first facial with Dina, I realized that:
1.) You get a facial /​massage
2.) She can get rid of your blackheads /​whiteheads –it’s awesome!
3.) Facials are sooooo relaxing!
4.) When you walk into the facial salon (I don’t know the name) – you are literally transported into a boutique/spa…on the outside, her business is in a business park (fyi).
5.) Dina is a beautiful woman inside and out.
6.) She has lovely boutique like things to buy (products, merchandise, misc. lovely things, etc.) –but I have never once felt pressured or overly suggested to buy things. I just get my facial-​on, and go. In fact, when I told her that all I use on my skin is the Neutrogena bar, she didn’t want to suggest anything else because she told me that what I was using was working wonderfully (and she knew it was inexpensive) – she also give my skin higher self-​esteem. I can’t say enough fabulous things about Dina.
7.) I love her so much, I want to keep her secret… well, except sharing here with Unilocal peeps b/​c I’ve gotta pay it forward!
