I will be coming to this place from now on when i have a problem with my laptop. The guys here are nice and try to help you in the best possible way. My Macbook Air was having trackpad problems and after taking it to the Apple store they were going to charge me $ 750 to get it repaired after being diagnosed with water damaged. I looked on here for a repair place and after reading some of the reviews on here this seemed like the most adequate place to go to. I am so happy i came here, they charged $ 75 for them to deep clean my computer and it fixed my laptop. I was told there was a 1 out of 50 chance it could fail again and if anything happened to just go by and they would try to help. Great place!

I recently sustained water damage to my macbook air and apple said that it would be $ 750 minimum and 2 weeks to repair. I took it here and $ 75 and 3 days later, I get a call to say that my macbook is in working order! They could have very easily charged be $ 300 dollars to install a new keyboard (which I probably would’ve done), but they told me they would take it apart, dry and clean it out first. Miracle or not, it works! They were completely honest about everything, and their prices are unbeatable!

I bought my MacBook Air from Daniel about 2 months ago. I am very happy with my purchase. I would definitely recommend this company if you are looking for a quality used/​refurbished computer. The owners are professional, knowledgeable, and approachable. They informed me if anything happened to go wrong with the computer after the initial 30 day warranty was up they would do there best to help me because I bought the computer from them. I felt very comfortable with my purchase and I would buy from them again. Support local business!

Excellent friendly and professional service. After days of struggling to figure out a Mac Mini issue, I contacted DC Computers. For $ 50 extra, they performed expedited diagnostics and within 4 hours I was home with a new hard drive, completely restored and now faster than ever. I would not hesitate to go back. I’ve never taken my computer anywhere before, but my boyfriend loves this place and seems to go there a lot so I guess that’s a good sign (he’s very particular about his computers and very knowledge, too).
The guys that work there are always super friendly, really helpful (even when their busy which is often on the weekends) and willing to find the best priced solution for your problem.
My boyfriend has come here to get his laptop fixed, trade in and buy a new one. I’ve been with him on occasion and asked a simple question about a cord that might work for connecting my older mac laptop to my new tv through my HDMI cord (the sound doesn’t work because the speakers are an older version blah blah I’m not sure how it all works). Although I wasn’t there for that reason, one of the guys came out from the back room and handed me some cord for free. He said take it home and try it out, if it doesn’t work you can bring it back, or keep it. Super friendly and helpful like I said!
Also, I recently sent them an email for a question. I thought they probably wouldn’t get back to me right away but I was proven incorrect. They got back to me later that night with the nicest email and great options! My boyfriend ended up fixing my laptop, but for some reason I couldn’t get a screw out of my harddrive. I simply brought it over to them and asked if they had anything that could work and literally in 30 seconds the guy came back with the screw out. I had been working on that thing for almost an hour! No charge, just a smile.
This is seriously a great place and if you’re considering getting a laptop, desktop or any accessories, this should be your first stop!
Plus, they have a store cat which is pretty cool.

DC computers is a great find. My friend Larry brought me there he knew I wanted a Mac but that I couldn’t afford a new one. We went there together and BAM, I picked one out, done. I love my computer. More significant however, is very recently I splashed some black beans (I know, so gross!) on my computer and it went black. This was of course heartbreaking as I hadn’t had the computer long. I called the store and they said «bring it back there’s a 50% chance we can fix it». I paid them $ 90. I think it was, and they fixed it in 2 days. I was so happy and relieved they really won me over. I’ll always buy my computers from DC now.

Except for the parking, this was a great experience. They were able to extract 100% of my data from an external hard drive that didn’t want to power up.
Affordable and professional. I will return.

I love these guys! Bought a computer, great service, great price! While setting up my preferences I got distracted on a conference call and I locked myself out of my computer somehow. I popped by and they fixed it in 15 minutes for free!

While I wish I never had a reason to come here, I did in fact spill water all over my boyfriends computer. He’s still with me to this day, and I have this place to thank for that!
After his computer was fried, I rushed over here within an hour of the accident and paid $ 75 for them to take a look at it, and an extra $ 50 for the process to be «rushed». I was waiting frantically for a call since the process was rushed but didn’t hear from them. I was concerned when I hadn’t heard back from them all day especially because I paid for the rushed process. I called right before they closed and asked them what the deal was. I was told his computer was done and needed a new hard drive and that nothing could be saved that wasn’t already on an external hard drive. I paid a little over $ 300 for a new hard drive which was fine, but I felt as if the rushing process was not worth $ 50 since it did not seem to be a priority.

DC Computers are the best! Both Daniel and Chris were extremely helpful, very patient, and gave me an amazing deal on a top of the line laptop!!!
Will be coming here for all my future computer purchases!!!

First let me say my first few experiences with DC are with repairs and they did an excellent job each time.
This review is about a computer purchase.
Bought a computer here. Screen had some damage (dead spots). Brought the computer back
after about an hour. The issue with the screen could not be seen at the store due to the brightness in the store. The sales person was hesitant but ultimately replaced the computer.
I would just say you should be aware to make sure the computer is in great condition before you buy considering my experience.
I would and have suggested them as a repair place. I will let my purchasing experience speak for itself and just say its up the customer to make sure they check any issues before purchase (at least anything that falls outside what they would consider something they would automatically rectify)
I do think they are honest guys and they called me right after this review to see how they could make my experience better which swayed me to update this review and be a little more objective about my experience.

Second time I’ve used these guys, top notch crew all the way. This is the varsity squad.
A couple days ago I had spilled a glass of water on my desk that moved quickly into the ports on the right side of my 2012 MacBook Pro. I run my whole business off of my computer so I understandably started freaking out. I turned the computer on the side and tried starting it up after 20 minutes, but all I got was a flashing folder with a question mark on it. I immediately shot over to DC Computers in Hillcrest.
They were able to put a «rush» on the order and ultimately took the computer apart, treated some of the internal parts with some «products» that they use to remove the corrosion that can occur rather quickly. In this case I got lucky, and the fix was a lot less expensive than I anticipated. I was up and running in a couple hours.
Those of you with businesses each day off a laptop know how crucial it is to get up and running.

I operate a small business, and was having trouble with my computer. I was on the phone for an hour with MICROSOFT, which was extremely unproductive. I called DC COMPUTERS, and they solved my problem in FIVE MINUTES. WWWOOOWWW!

There is a reason these guys have 5 stars on Unilocal!The answer here is quite simple… They are as good as it gets (period).
We all have a major «life threatening» computer issue every now and again. And when you have one… this is where you go to solve them.
Yesterday my Macbook Pro Retina doubled it’s hard disk space after turning on File Vault (note — do not turn on File Vault) rendering the disk completely full, and therefore unable to start the OS. The ninjas at DC Computers understood the issue immediately and asked me to bring it on in. 24 hours later my machine is not only fixed and fully restored, but running better than ever!
They also detailed my machine — cleaning the chassis, keyboard, screen, etc. (I mean, way to go the extra mile guys!)
Their customer service is professional and friendly. The work is top notch.
Don’t go to the Genius Bar and waste your valuable time, and possibly spend more money than you need to. Go see the ninjas at DC Computers. The experience will change your life, and probably reduce your stress… which is priceless!

My fiancé swears by this place. We stopped by to purchase a laptop and had looked at various stores in San Diego and my fiancé decided to come back to this place to purchase his laptop because he loved their service (he had previously been here to sell something) the last time he was here.
They sell and buy used computers and they are truly honest people.
I highly recommend you stop by and see what goods they have in stock!
Also, if you are allergic to cats, this is probably not the place to go because there is a cat that hangs out here in the store.

Law student, and a couple of months ago I had a final paper due the next day and my computer crashes on me. I run to the Apple Store, they obviously didn’t care, and are all about their stupid appointment system. Wanted me to wait 3 hours for the next available appointment and couldn’t even assure me if the computer would even get fixed, let alone even looked at!
Found this GEM of a place and they got my computer up and running in a few hours! Had to pay a rush fee and it was slightly expensive overall but when you’re desperate you’re desperate and you need a fix FAST!
The staff was really nice and understanding which was comforting since I was under a lot of stress and freaking out about my situation, having already typed 88% of my work. Unlike the jerk at the Apple Store whom I felt was just staring right through me and asking me repeatedly if I had made an appointment lol, I can’t with them.
Anyways, thanks guys! I know I’m a little late but still appreciate everything!

I was looking to sell my MacBook, but it had a broken shift key and I wanted to get it fixed before I sold it.
Apple was going to make me jump through hoops.
DC Computers just popped in a new key. Bam. Done. No charge. This is how you run a business, because next time I need something bigger taken care of, this is the only place I’ll go.
Cool shop. Good prices. They offered me a fair amount for my MBP but I’m going to see if I can get a little more on Craigslist.

What a disappointment.
I contacted them by phone after seeing their strong Unilocal reviews. I had a unique request: I’m looking for a cheap PC to donate to an international charity. I called ahead with my situation and the guy encouraged me to come by the store.
I can’t remember the last time I was treated so rudely.
Daniel, one of the owners, was «helping» me by answering my questions with sarcasm, annoyance, and contempt.
He made me feel ashamed and embarrassed to ask any questions, and only after I asked his name and took a card (likely implying to him this very review was going to happen), he changed his tune slightly and insincerely said he’s trying to help.
Example:
Me: «What should I look for in a used laptop?»
Him: «I’m not in the business of helping people make purchases elsewhere.»
Fine. But that’s a different tune that what I’d been told on the phone.
He then proceeded to help me anyway (I guess his business model changed in 3 seconds) and showed me some used models online that were worth considering.
Me: «How do you know when it would be a good buy?» (implying which features should I look for – RAM, processing speed, etc).
Him: (deadpan) Because I know a lot about computers.
Well, bully for you. But you have a way to go on customer service.
4 minutes after I left the store he emailed me that he «did some digging» and found a model he could sell me in my price range. Well, that sure was fast. I followed up with an email and never heard back.
Ugh.

Giving 5 stars for the following:
1. Brought in a surface pro 3 to sell. Gave a really fair deal and were more than willing to trade.
2. Straight forward and not at all unscrupulous. They deal with you and what they say is what they mean.
3. Got an extremely great deal — surface pro 3 traded for ipad air +$ 250 + added vmware to my mackbook air. Broke even for me and what else can you ask for when you buy something you regret like i did with the SP3?
4. Nice clean location, easy friendly staff and they know what they are doing.
5. The biggest thing for me is that i asked them to keep me on a list for a macbook pro 13″ computer. As soon as they got some in, they called me straight away. Wasn’t looking anymore, but they went the extra distance and called me before they put it out on the shelves. What a standup business.
I know my stuff re: tech — if i need issues, i know these guys run a tight ship and have integrity. Great people and great stuff. Thanks guys!
