David is very creative and patient! The atmosphere is quaint and very calming. I loved the entire experience! I will be back soon.

This was my first visit to the shop and highly recommend. While searching for place that does hair color, found so many didn’t specify if they are primarily for women or if men are welcome. I was please to find this place as men are welcome and the haircut was great, David is an awesome guy, and is an lgbt friendly small business. Also the neighborhood was nice with light traffic and easy to find street parking.

Came in today with my daughter, we both got our hair cut and colored by Russell. He did a amazing job. We are both very pleased on how our hair came out. Always a pleasant experience coming here.

I love the work of Russell’s he is always professional. Takes his time with Coloring my hair and styling. Really reasonable pricing is worth it. He does a wonderful job with makeup. Love all Russell’s creative and unique style. Awesome hairstylist. Thank you Russell. ;)

Begin with a bit of visualization and meditation as you relax your mind and body. As the massage progresses, David checks in and makes sure your doing well and pressure is appropriate. It was one of the best massages I’ve had in my life! And luckily, I’ve had a good number of them!
He massaged my head and neck for quite some time at the end. The moment he finished the massage I think I had just drifted off. Perfection! You will not be disappointed!

Found David on Groupon and purchased the 90 minute massage deal with him. Best deal, best massage I’ve had to date! And I can be very picky, very critical. I’m glad I booked the massage for the day I chose, because unbeknownst to me, that day was going to be the roughest day for me. I was sick, without sleep, highly irritated and stressed over every little thing from work to the wind that was blowing that day. I almost walked past his salon because I was so scatter brained but eventually made it to him. I can’t even really explain the energy, the peace and balanced vibes he projected but it was reassurance I would be in good hands.
The salon is tiny, the massage room is also a tiny room. As a first time client, he explains his background and advises of his homemade products. All good to know, but I’m not much a conversationalist on this particular day. We proceed to the massage, and he helps you meditate as he begins the massage. I’ve never meditated and was a little skeptical because apparently I’ve dedicated my massage time to sort out all my thoughts… yes I know, defeats the purpose but it seems to have always been a time for me to think of all my stress while getting a massage. He helped me to let go of my harboring thoughts and stresses for that moment in time so that I could actually enjoy the massage. I even dozed off intermittently through the session. The massage was just a different one I’ve ever experienced. I left feeling a great weight off my shoulders and couldn’t even remember what I was stressing over. As in I was almost looking for a reason to be stressed but no, I was just too relaxed. Overall, I was very pleased and I highly recommend!!!
The downside to booking an appointment are the hours that he’s available and that he always seems to be booked a month out. I think his hours are until 7 as in services need to be finished by 7… This isn’t ideal for the person who works the 9 – 5 and the fact he’s been booked a month out has to be a good indication, right? So I am not penalizing him in my review for these factors, I am simply mentioning them to inform you so you know what to expect when trying to book with him.

David was welcoming and likeable, but more importantly, I got a great massage where he checked in just enough to make sure I was getting what I wanted but not to the point of being chatty. Manages to walk the perfect line between gentle hands and strong ones. Not a fancy place, but once you’re on the table, does that really matter? I left feeling great!

I have had many massages over the years, and this one was by far the best.
He is very dynamic to different people… extremely in-​tune with his tactile energy and healing touch.
The membership is an amazing deal and I would highly recommend him.

I am an instant fan as of yesterday. Having gained incredible weight and being out with a back injury, I put aside my hesitation about someone touching my body. So I made an appointment and wished I hadn’t until I got there.
As a former RN, this man has a dedicated, natural gift for healing. I have never experienced such intuitive care for others. He gave my body such a sense of relief, I’m hooked and will have to build his services into my monthly budget.
Call or email David, you owe it to yourself. He’s a unique find.

Incredible. Absolutely amazing. Hands down the best massage ever in my opinion. 90 minutes deep tissue. The massage was like no other. The only downer for me was the location and facility. To be honest, it’s a small little place, tight.
I gave the business 5 stars based on massage only. If I was to review location as well 3 ½.

I first found out about Dave via Groupon. I’m pretty weary these days of Groupon for massages, but after checking reviews I felt like I should give this place a try. I’m very glad I did! I’ve been going to Dave for almost a year now, on a monthly basis. Unlike some massage therapists that I’ve been to, over time, they take you for granted and start slacking off. Dave is very consistent with his work, and he really enjoys, and takes pride in what he does. His products are great, too! I love the soaps that he makes, especially, the charcoal. The face scrubs are great as well. If you give him feedback on his products, he listens, and improves them. As far as I’m concerned, he has me as a client for life.

I have been a client of Dave’s for over two years, he is attentive, professional, takes his time to find out what i need, i have always had excellent massages, and he is constantly learning new techniques to master his skills as a massage therapist and he was there when i really needed him after a bad rear end car accident. Dave is the real deal!

If I could give this place no stars, I would. I had such a horrific experience here and left in tears.
I showed up for my 2:45 appointment at 2:30. Around 3 the hair stylist working in there starts trying to figure out why Dave hasn’t come out with his client yet. They went in the massage room at 1:30 for an hour long appt, and should have been out at 2:30. At about 3:20 they come out. Apparently, she was scheduled for an hour, but really wanted an hour and a half… and why that took almost 2 hours, I have no idea. At this point I was planning on sitting there until 3:30 so that I could change my appt and leave– I had a wedding rehearsal dinner at 5, so my 90 minute massage was obviously not going to happen.
I say, «Hi, I’m your 2:45 appt». He looks puzzled, goes to look at the computer, realizes he screwed up, and has this total «Oh well!» attitude. I let him know that I’m only in town for the weekend, and am in the process of moving out of state, I made this appt close to a month out, and am pretty limited on when we can reschedule. His solution is to try and change his evening appt, and I could come back at 6– giving me an hour for the rehearsal dinner. the whole reason I’m in SD. I let him know that’s not going to work, and he has the nerve to say «Well I don’t know what to tell you, I said sorry. You can call Groupon and get a refund». As if my 50 minutes sitting there waiting for him meant nothing. My time was nothing, and his rude, indignant self, gave me an insincere apology and instructions on a refund as he shooed me out the door.
So I left, completely shocked. I started driving home, and getting angry. I turned around, went back in and said «Seriously?!? That was your solution!!! I haven’t had customer service this bad in a LONG time.» He should have been bending over backwards to figure something out for me after such a huge screw up on his end. So I had to suggest a solution– there was time for a 50 minute massage. We could do that instead. He said that was fine and I could keep the groupon. I agreed, but was so mad at this point, I should have just left.
So I had a terrible 50 minute «massage». He starts with you meditating with him. Then setting goals for yourself. Then «complimentary» aromatherapy. Which he said we both could use to relax… uh ok. And then came the bad massage. In all of my massages, no one has ever tried to start with meditating and goals. No thanks. And I said my lower back was hurting, and it got zero attention. I wish I could un-​do this whole day. I wouldn’t return to this place with a gun to my head.

I just had a massage with David and cannot express my gratitude. I’ve been suffering with some significant back pain for months now which I discussed with him in advance. He used his nursing background to pin point his technique for pain alleviation. That night was the first night in months I slept through the night without waking up with pain. The next day my pain was significantly less. I highly recommend considering David if you are looking for massage therapy for pain. I’m already scheduled to go for the next three months!

I’ve had so many massages over the years and am extremely selective as to who I actually return to. I found David via groupon and am so happy I did! The location was easy to find and there is ample street parking. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. David is very professional and passionate in what he does. He worked on my problem areas and I was so relaxed I actually fell asleep which is rare for me. I even signed up for the monthly club. Definitely the best massage I’ve had in SD!

I’ve been a client of Dave’s for over a year now; he brings professionalism a new meaning. I’ve seen the salon grow each month to now reservations are a must! He’s beginning his own product line which is a passion he cannot wait to fulfill.

he did a great job with my hair, took time to know what i wanted. he helped make my thinning hair look less severe. very talented! prices very decent for the level of quality and attention to detail. very cute space.

I came to David Feiling Salon via Groupon and overall I was very pleased. His salon space is pretty darn cute, nicely organized with deep red walls and lots of black and white accents. And as Gary R. mentions, you can listen to music of your choosing while you drink a hot or cold beverage of your choice. Nice! David adds to the spa feeling by creating all of his own products, most of which (I believe) are organic.
I really enjoyed the 90 minute deep heat massage David gave. He offers a kind of subscription plan, too, which is pretty interesting. Essentially as long as you have one massage a month, it allows you to have as many as you want for that same discounted price. It’s definitely something you should ask about if regular massages are your thing. He also offers 50% off one of his other services to get you to come back again. Not a bad idea and something I will for sure take him up on!
Minus one star for scheduling reasons: it took about a month and a half before I was able to schedule a massage and then David was about a half-​hour behind schedule the day of my massage so I had to just wait there while he finished up. In the grand scheme of things it’s not a big deal, things happen, but I may have been a touch more annoyed than I normally would have been because I may have been just a wee bit hungover and grumpy. It’s not going to stop me from going back, though.

I’ve been seeing David over the last few months to take care of and manage the very thick, sagebrush-​like hair that my head has been graced with. It grows fast, is hard to tame, and it’s extremely dense. Finding someone to cut it evenly and in the right proportions had been painstaking, up until meeting David. Honestly, now that my hair has been in his care, I just can’t imagine trusting it with anyone else.
David is a professional that has a true passion for what he does. It’s very rare that you meet someone in a professional context that immediately strikes you as genuine, but that’s the impression I received when I first met David. Part of that genuine charm is his love of Starbucks, which you will undoubtedly see evidence of when you visit his salon. :) He has a gentle spirit and approach, is easy to talk to, and he makes you feel at ease. I’ve noticed how thoughtful he is to notice even the smallest details as he’s sculpting, doing his best to ensure that not one flaw is overlooked.
David also recently introduced me to nose hair waxing. The thought of such a procedure sounds like something out of a Medieval torture manual, but it’s honestly quite painless. Having my hair did and leaving with my nostrils hairless and smooth is something that will now be on my regular agenda with David. Trust me, it sure beats using the tweezers!
In addition to his expertise in styling and waxing, David is also a skilled masseur. I haven’t taken advantage of that service yet, but the time will come, surely. All in all, David is a one-​stop-​shop for all of the beautification services that you may require.
One of the delights of visiting this salon is that parking is an absolute breeze. Oodles of parking spaces are available in the quiet, cute neighborhood that his business is situated in. It’s a breath of fresh air not having to deal with meters for a change. Some of the other perks: (1) Create your own personal Pandora radio station during your visit on the large TV set; (2) Keurig coffee maker with scores of flavors to choose from; (3) Online scheduling of appointments, something that I LOVE!
So, if you’re in search of a new stylist, need some waxing, or just want to relax with a nice massage, go see David. You’re just downright silly if you don’t.

He’s still the most amazingly talented aesthetician in San Diego, but he’s movin’ on up in the world and into his brand-​new eponymous salon. :-)
The new space on 32^nd & Myrtle opened at the beginning of July, and it couldn’t be any more beautiful. It’s tucked away on a quiet block far removed from the hustle and bustle of University Ave and 30^th St, so street parking is easy and abundant. The interior is gorgeous but comfortable, with a relaxing, vintage-​apothecary vibe.
I dropped by for a haircut the other day. In terms of quality of service, nothing has changed. Still an outstanding place for haircare, massage, skincare, waxing, and just about anything else you need to beautify your outsides. (He’ll also provide nutrition counseling if you’re concerned about your insides, as well.) The online reservation system is still easy and efficient.
