came here today after hitting up nickel city and causing a riot there. we came in here today and when we walked in, I thought it was a total fun place and live in atmosphere. WRONG!!! we walked in the door, and it was dead silent, and I felt so bad for being so fricking loud. we ordered our food, went outside and sat at a table so that we wouldn’t be trouble. I ordered a slice of pizza and a soda and it only cost me $ 4.31 or something like that. good food. nice pizza, I wasn’t too crazy about their cheesy garlic bread. soda machine didn’t have any ice in it, but it wasn’t their fault that they hadn’t refilled it. overall, the place was all right.

They are called Giovanni’s Firehouse Pizza now… but same place… They have a huge big screen with sports playing all the time, but it isn’t noisy. I’m partial to their lasagna… but they run out of it half the time I’m there… :( Portions are HUGE and prices are good too! One thing to note: I always ordered their mozzarella sticks and 3 out of 4 times they got it wrong… so yeah… be prepared if you don’t get your mozzarella sticks…

I like to treat myself to a slice of pizza and a coke on Fridays, and Dad’s is the perfect place. Part of a larger catering group, Dad’s has a fairly extensive menu of Italian-leaning lunch and dinner favorites. I have not sampled any of those items, invariably choosing the New York-style pizza every time(while it’s thin, I’m not quite sure how New York-y it really is), but the people eating pastas and salads all appear satisfied. Dad’s is an average size for a restaurant in a strip mall. They do have 3 tables outside in a gated patio area, where I love to sit and read during sunny lunch hours. The staff is fast and friendly, and while they do a steady stream of business during lunch, there is practically always seating, and I have plenty of time to enjoy my slice and make it back to work without speeding. It is a little cramped in the salad bar/fountain area, and the presentation could use a little work. There’s not really much charm in the décor – a half-hearted attempt at a sports theme is all I can detect – which may be a result of a catering focus. All in all, I dig it.
