I live in Hillcrest so this was a little closer to me than Boiling Crab or Crab Hut. The prices are relatively similar, but their medium is definitely spicier than other places so maybe starting with ½ medium is good. We got combo #1, fries, and the shrimp and crawfish combo, which was way enough for 4 ppl. We went in the evening around 9 so it wasn’t packed, but busy. The server there was awesome and I’m pretty sure she was 1 of 2 ppl working floor. The flavor is good, but I think I prefer Boiling Crab’s more. Definitely great if you’re in the area, but watch out for the occasional college area creeper.

Being from Texas and visiting New Orleans often, Crab Pub brings me a lil flavor from home. Staff is very friendly and provides excellent service. I always order the crawfish and shrimp with pub sauce. The pub sauce is awesome, wish I could make it at home! You gotta go!

Huge shrimp and King crab legs… delicious! We ordered 1 lb of king crab and 2 lbs of shrimp, sweet potato fries, crab poppers, and catfish. Didn’t care for the catfish, but hubby wanted to try them. Let’s just say there’s a reason why they are called«Crab Pub» and known for their crustaceans, not fish. Even though 1lb of king crab = 4 legs, they were so meaty! I recommend you get pub style combo(2 selections). Sweet potato fries and poppers were the perfect sides to our crab/shrimp combo. Great customer service, but parking is horrible!

I love this place. The staff is nice and friendly. They’re helpful– first time eating crawfish! The parking is pretty descent, never really full. I came in here with my boyfriend and we left stuffed. Kind of like crab hut and boiling crab concept. They have combos and their house sauce. I liked it and would definitely come back. Never really have a crazy wait time like other places.

I’ve been to this location quite a few times since they opened. We usually just order ahead and take the food to go. I only had one minor issue with the order being wrong-my fault for not checking before we left. The management was REALLY trying to dispute that there wasn’t a mistake. I offered to take pictures and send them to someone there immediately. It only took 15 minutes to get them to acknowledge a mistake and make arraignments for a replacement order. This is similar to all the other Crab(insert Hut/Shack/Town) in San Diego. I like this location cause it is closer to my house. I’m writing this review because I am a little skeptical that I will be going back. I have to question the quality/freshness of their food. With seafood, as well as any food, freshness is a must. On Monday 5÷2÷16 I ordered a lb. of King Crab Legs, a lb. of Shrimp(both full house medium) and an order of the Cajun wings with fries basket. I ate everything, but I shared the king crab legs with my grandson. Tuesday 5÷3÷16 from the time I woke up until the evening, I became well acquainted with the restroom. I had to leave work early because Pepto Bismal was not helping. I thought I caught a virus. However, when my daughter called and asked what did her son eat, cause he was vomiting crab chunks all morning. Coincidence? I’m not for certain. But there is only the one common denominator. I just have to say, be wary of your meal.

Crawfish was huge, but the sauce is too thick. it needs to be thinner, and the sausage taste very cheap, it should be more Cajun spice. Prices are ok

First time here… we ordered fried clams for appetizer, and steamed shrimp and crawfish with old bay seasoning. Everything was very good and seasoned well. Our waitress was very nice too! Will be back soon! So so good!

Came in acouple days ago, the parking lot is kinda tight. Its right next to tea station. Came in around noonish and we came in during happy hour, yay! Crab poppers-10, you must get! Mixed fries-10, they were crispy! Hot wings– 8, they were crispy and a little dry. Shrimp w/Crab pub sauce and sausages– the shrimp was fresh, boil was good but it could of been a little better, it was still very delish. Service-i believe our server’s name was billy. He was super nice and attentive, and gave us acouple of recommendations since it was our first time here. The crab pub sauce is similar to crab huts whole shabang. Our food was great and so was service, we will def. Be coming back!

Very good crawfish place. The service is excellent. my boyfriend never likes crawfish, after taking him to crawfish places, he never seemed to enjoy, but when we came to Crab Pub and for the first time he asked me if we could order 1 more lb to eat at the table, then 1 more for togo which added to be 4lbs total. I was suprised, and you could tell how good they are. There are 2 crawfish places by my house now in mira mesa, and both are only 5min drive, but i guess we will be glad to drive all the way down there for this bomb crawfish place. Keep it uppppp!

I used to think all these Crab(Hut, Town, Pub) places were the same since the décor, menu and food offerings were the same. But the quality and flavors at Crab Pub sure surpass the others! We came here on a Saturday night and the place was about half full. We were immediately seated and quickly noticed the Combination deals on the menu. For starters, we went with the Hot and Juicy Wings. For the meal, we chose Combo #1 with 2 pounds of shrimp and 1 pound of clams. For flavor we opted for Pub Style at ½ medium. The wings were not what I expected… The wings had a spicy sweet sauce to it which my wife and I really liked! To my surprise, the shrimp and clam pieces were much larger than other places. This was a game changer for me! The flavors were excellent! The sauce was thick and not watery at all. Service was great! It was nice to see multiple servers checking on our table. As a side note, we probably noticed 4 or 5 pick-up orders while we ate. There’s no surprise why… This place is great!

My third time here and I think the flavoring has improved every time, the service is excellent and staffs were very friendly, they were constantly checking on us and refilling our water. We ordered a pound of shrimp, crawfish and a side of calamari extra crispy, because during our previous visit the calamari was a little undercooked and didn’t taste so good. I think the pricing is pretty average compared to the other places. Their combo is worth if you want to try a variety of seafood and are sharing. It’s definitely a plus that it’s closed by my house and there isn’t a long wait when I’m craving some shrimp and crawfish. There’s also plenty of parking :) Will be coming back ~~

The décor for these types of eateries are usually the same– very nautical! It wasn’t very busy when we came for dinner, and I didn’t expect much from this place based on the reviews, but the food was decent. We ordered the fried calamari basket to start with– it came with fries and a couple of sauces. The fries were crisscross cut and calamari was weirdly shaped. I thought it was going to come out in rings, but these were much bigger! We also got crab legs, shrimp, and crawfish! The crawfish came with only 2 pieces of sausage and a small piece of corn… I chose the pub style seasoning which consists of garlic butter, lemon pepper, and cajun. The seasoning for my shrimp was pretty tasty and a medium spicy level had a good amount of heat. My friend thought that the crab wasn’t washed very well and was hard to best open… not sure what that means. Service was good– our waitress was nice and checked up on us often. She even gave us a 10 percent discount!

I can’t help but to compare this place to crab hut, I gotta say that they are very similar but the shrimp and Corn is way better at crab hut. The shrimp had a weird pasty texture and the Corn kernels were too small. The sauce is Way too salty but that’s how it is at both places. I like to order my crab regular boiled then dip it in the lime salt/pepper cups.

Honestly, it’s very similar to Crab Hut in Convoy, from the big shark hanging, to the flavor selection. A lot of reviews are saying this, so if you love Crab Hut, this place is another seafood alternative. Personally, it’s a lot closer to me than going to Convoy, and it’s just as good, so that’s a win-win. Crab Pub is pretty new since it just opened up in September! For being a Saturday night, it wasn’t really busy, and I’m assuming because of how new it is. Plus, the location is in a college area, not very known, so I assume most college students(like myself) are too poor to just eat out all the time. This used to be the sandwich shop Capriotti’s, if you’re familiar with it. The girl working, she had glasses, was really sweet! Customer service was amazing. I’m sure whether it be empty or packed, she would’ve attended to us(as often as she did tonight) no matter what. Plus, she was very knowledgable about the menu. She made sure to always check on us, and refill our drinks. Also, we got our sodas in to go cups at no charge! My boyfriend and I got the calamari basket appetizer, and baskets come with waffle fries! The fries were extra fresh and crispy. It looked and tasted similar to Crab Hut. Also, we got one pound of the shrimp and crawfish mix, with mild pub style seasoning. The pub style seasoning is a mixture of garlic butter, lemon pepper, and cajun. Once again, it tasted just like Crab Hut’s seasoning. Everything was so delicious, I fell in love. It was enough food for the both of us! I’d definitely come back.

Food was satisfying for my first time here, my wife and I got the #1 combo which consist of shrimp, crawfish, clam and mussels Cajun style. It’s almost similar to crab hut. I didn’t get a chance to dine in but when I walked in, the hostess was very attending. Addressed me right away and already knew I had a pick up order. A big plus in my book.

Overall experience was 2 stars because the workers were friendly. I came here because they take off 15% off your order until November I believe. I wasn’t impressed with the location and how small the place is. It looks very familiar to crab hut in convoy. I ordered crawfish and shrimp mild, with all their flavors. When I got my shrimp and crawfish, there was barely any sauce in the bag. So I asked for more and the server gladly took my bag back and added more. It was too garlicky and not enough of the other flavors. It tasted VERY bland. I ordered sweet potato fries and that tasted good. They are more expensive than boiling crab and it’s not worth it. I wouldn’t come back here nor recommend anybody here.

Yay! More options to go to for seafood! Since this place recently opened up, it doesn’t seem to get too busy. It’s in a pretty convenient location with plenty of parking. It’s a good sized restaurant as well. Very spacious. Tables for small and large groups. The prices here are slightly higher than other places. Just a few dollars more on top per pound of meat. But they do have combos you can get that are pretty reasonably priced. The flavor here was good. A bit more garlic and buttery tasting than crab hut for example. Their medium spicy level wasn’t too spicy at all. I usually go for mild or medium but a medium wasn’t like a medium. So if you like spicy, then definitely choose a higher level. Mussels were fresh. Shrimp was juicy. Clams were good. Fried oyster basket with waffle fries were awesome. The fried oysters had a very light and crispy fried batter which was awesome. But it kind of tasted like hush puppies. Maybe they use the same batter for both, but it kind of had a slight sweet corn like flavor. Only complaint was that the oysters weren’t that big. At least they give you tons of fries though. Overall this place is good. P. S. I almost forgot to mention that one of the asian girls there, didn’t get her name, but she’s extremely consistent on drink refills ! She kept refilling my friend’s soda before he was even halfway done with it! Good job! Lol

I stopped for dinner at this new Seafood and Cajun Creole eatery and oddly enough ordered the chicken wings. I had them make the wings naked with a dusting of Cajun seasoning and with the Buffalo sauce on the side, which I never received. The wings were $ 9 and for $ 5, I also ordered some hush puppies. The wings were fried well, a little on the skinny side, but had a good crispy exterior and the meat was tender inside. The Cajun seasoning or rub was rather weak in flavor so I asked the friendly young lady to bring me more, so she brought out the shaker and seasoned some more. I liked the wings, but I am not sure they are worth the $ 9 price tag. They felt more like a $ 7.99 basked it wings. The hush puppies unfortunately not house made. They are of the frozen variety, fried, and then served with a variety of sauce of your choosing. I went for Ranch and Chipotle mayo. The puppies had decent flavor, but their texture was on the dense side and somewhat dry. They came with a nice crunchy exterior and good flavor, but they did not have that nice light fluffy texture inside. I don’t think I would order these again, unless they started making them in house. On a good note, they give quite a bit for $ 5, more than enough for sharing. My server was very nice and she checked on me often. I liked that she made the effort to help make my food to my liking with the extra seasoning.
