Let me tell you– I am not a huge Unilocal person and I have never written a review before– but this lady needs to be talked about. She the most kind awesome caring esthetician I have ever come across. Every time I am on there she is always offering skin/​product advice and letting me try samples. I have been battling with skin issues for a decade now and I was desperate to find someone who really knows what they are doing and she definitely get its. What a blessing she is and how amazing my skin looks after each facial. She pays attention to what she’s doing and and I am truly glad I have someone to go to and trust with my skin. My skin and I are very thankful. Affordable facials and the experience with her is always soothing and delightful.

This review is long overdue, but better late than never :). I have been Denise’s client for about 4 years now. She is really one of the best estheticians out there. On our first booking she took the time and she called me over the phone to go over my skin concerns and goals. This is always extremely important! She is very knowledgable when it comes to various skin conditions and a great resource. Denise really does care about her clients and their satisfaction. She would always follow up with me after the treatment to make sure all is well. She customizes the treatment specifically for client’s condition and preference. It is a never a «cookie cutter» facial. Denise assess the skin each time and recommends the appropriate facial/​peel accordingly. To me — it is priceless! Her studio has a very spa like feel to it and she uses only high quality products. Most importantly– I have seen a huge improvement in my skin since I started to do her facials. Can’t get better than this. Five stars all the way!

I am a few months away from 50 years of age, and have skin concerns including fine lines, discoloration, blackheads, rough texture, large pores, and uneven tone. To date, I have had a Complexions Signature Facial, and a Mid-​Depth Peel. In both cases, Denise tailored the treatment to address my skin’s needs. My skin looks noticeably (way) better and feels healthier. Denise is very sweet and knows her stuff. She is attentive and caring towards her clients.

I have to admit, I hadn’t had a facial in a while and my skin was angry. Denise took time to customize the facial to exactly what I needed. My skin was absolutely glowing after. This was definitely the best facial I have ever had. She was amazing and just a lovely person. I already booked my next appointment. You will not be sorry.

Complexions is not only incredibly clean and relaxing, but also the best facials I have ever had. Denise provides personal services according to your specific skin type. My skin has never looked or felt better. Denise is also a warm, caring, and wonderful person. Going to Complexions is not only relaxing and beneficial, but also affordable.

I was visiting San Diego and needed a really GOOD facial because was my skin was acting all strange. Breakouts, spotty redness, dry skin — awful. Generally having good clear skin, I was perplexed. Asked around and was recommended to Denise. Best decision ever! Loved her Signature Facial! It was thorough, she diagnosed my skin, gave me some spot treatments, hydrated, moisturized, exfoliated, massaged, extracted — you name it, she did it. Left with beautiful and glowing skin! It was a dream. I am a finicky person and quite particular about my skin care. Denise rocked it. Her treatment was spot in. Wish I could go every week!

This review is LONG overdue. Back in August Denise tinted my eye lashes and she did an AMAZING job! The tint lasted for over a month! First of all, Denise is a wonderful and sweet person. Secondly, she is very type A about her work — she takes great pride in doing to the best of her ability and isn’t concerned with how much she is making or how much time she spends with you — she works until it’s perfect and she does the best job I have ever had. She even called the next day to make sure I was 100% happy with the tint. And I was … And I continued to be for over a month. Now, I just need to find the time to get back for an update :-) I will definitely be back to Complexions soon and hope to experience all of her wonderful services!!! Thanks Denise :-)

Complexions is the only place I recommended for a real facial. I recently did a 2 hour Signature Facial and it was amazing! Denise does a really great job at accessing your skin and seeing what it best for you. Throughout the facial she told me what she was doing or using and why, which made me feel at ease. Her studio is located in Torrey Hills conveniently close to the freeway. Denise is a wonderful woman and is the best at what she does! Thank you so much Complexions!

I’ve been to other chain salons, and small shops that were nice, but DENISE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST! You always get personalized attention, and so much more than you pay for. I’ve tried several different services, all of which were FIVE STAR. She’s not satisfied until you are more than happy and your skin is beautiful!
The salon is immaculant with personal touches of beauty and elegance. It’s peaceful, and the best getaway ever for an hour or two.

Denise did a wonderful job with my facial! I purchased one of her specials (I mean good deal). She had an awesome personality and loves what she does. The passion she has for her service is incredible. The atmosphere is relaxing and beautiful. I highly recommend her. Just try her just once and I guarantee you will fall inlove.

If you are looking for an incredibly relaxing experience and improved skin, you need to come to Complexions. The salon is clean, calm, and comfortable. Denise is warm, personable and professional. There is no push to add on services or products. The prices are incredible compared to other salons in the area.
The Signature Facial was the ultimate deal. I enjoyed a great facial and a relaxing massage. This was my first facial so I had lots of questions. Denise took the time to answer all of my questions to help me care for my skin better.
I left feeling like I had given myself a great gift and treated myself with some much needed care and compassion.
I will be back! In fact, I already scheduled my next Signature Facial :)

If i could give Complexions ten stars instead of five I would!!! Denise is extremely knowledgeable, sweet, gentle and professional. Her number one prority is making sure you are comfortable. Her salon is very nicely done and provides a very relaxing enviornment. Denise has been taking care of my wife and I for a long time and I would never go anywhere else. Put Denise up against the most well reviewed esthetician and I bet Denise will come out on top everytime. Forget Beverly Hills, La Jolla and Rancho Santa Fe, what she does in her salon in Del Mar will not only give you more for your money but will have you leaving feeling so much better not only from how you look, but how you feel! Denise Davies and Complexions is good for the soul.

In this economy, it’s all about getting the most bang for your buck without sacrificing quality. Denise gives you just that. Her prices are better than most spas and she spends more time with you, getting to know your needs.
Denise works out of the guest house on her property which at first could be off-​putting but she has done an excellent job of creating a calming, spa-​like at mosphere in the open space. I have not had any sort of professional skin care since I was 19 due to a terrible acutane-​worthy breakout after my first facial. I told Denise about this (and showed her the picture). She understood my hesitation and was very sympathetic and reassured me she wouldn’t let anything like that happen again.
I couldn’t tell you what she did to my face, but it was magical. I went to see her for microdermabrasion but on top of that I got a face, shoulder, neck and back massage. Um, yes please! I saw results right away. My face looked clearer, less blotchy. I will be visiting Denise for more treatments to help with my acne scars, and probably continue even after I’m done with the microderm. She’s so caring, and sincerely wants to see you satisfied with how you look. Thank you!!!

Truly one of the best facials I have ever had. It’s sort of like a precision facial. She takes her time and ensures she understands your skin and any issues. Then she uses several differnt layers of treatments, so it feels very therapeutic. She also does a lot of fun extras that I didn’t expect like a really good foot and hand massage. Also a long head and shoulders massage. Not only did my skin look and feel 5 years younger, but I also felt relaxed and refreshed. Worth every penny!

Denise is as good as it gets… and that’s the truth! She is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to skin care. I went to her in desperate need of some help. My skin had been peeling, breaking out extremely bad due to the weather conditions I was in the week prior (i.e. from 30 degree weather outdoors to 75 degree heated indoors)…anyway…my skin does not do well with drastic temperature changes. My skin was so dehydrated and needed major TLC. Denise was the perfect person to go to. I found her through Unilocal and so glad that I did because she is my «go-​to gal» for skincare. Although she mentioned she had never seen anything like this before… when she saw my skin under the ultra-​violet light… she worked her magic and worked like a pro to restore the moisture back into my skin and get rid of the impurities. She knew exactly what to do and what products to use! I am forever thankful and I look forward to my next visit with Denise! Big hugs :)

I’ve been to literally 50 estheticians and none of them compare to Denise. I started going to her about a year ago and will never go to another person again! On each session, she always gives bonus treatments and really works with your skin to get it healthy looking. She’s also one of the sweetest human beings on this earth. You can’t go wrong by going here.

I have gone to the same spa in La Jolla for almost 5 years. At the insistence of a friend I detoured from habit and went to Complexions. Denise is uplifting, kind and talented. What a joyous and relaxing afternoon this was. I left her salon feeling as though I just been on a mini vacation. Go just once and you will be forever hooked. I promise!

I have been such a fan of complexions for the past five years! Denise (owner) does amazing work! A truly wonderful soul with healing hands and a vibrant personality that makes you feel at ease, warm and welcomed. Every visit to Complexions has been fabulous. Her prices are reasonable (less than many of the over-​priced spas in the Del Mar neighborhood), the locale is gorgeous and the salon itself is beautifully decorated.
I highly recommend her signature facial — I travel all the way from Mission Valley every few months for it — well worth the price and gas money!
And once you’re finished with your relaxing day under Denise’s care, roam the downtown street of Cedros avenue to check out some cool locally/​family owned shops from hardware, clothes, art to coffee in this design district.

This is a delightful and relaxing locale in the Cedros District of coastal Solana Beach. Denise, the owner, is fantastic: friendly, thoughtful, experienced, professional. She makes you feel at home, and the services are great. I had one of their ‘super facials’ (Signature Facial with Microdermabrasion and Peel). The massage was wonderful, relaxing. My skin is so much better after just one treatment, so I definitely signed up for a series. After a treatment, one can walk around the neighborhood, filled with charming coffee shops and local stores.
