Collegiate Entrepreneurs Painting Services

I recently used this company for painting most of the interior walls of my house. I met Alex (regional manager) at SD Convention Center and he came to give me an estimate at the beginning of the year, but I had to postpone the project until June. Another guy took over the job from the original project manager, and he came to my house to see how much they would need to paint on a Saturday afternoon and said that they would start from the following Monday at 8 a.m. However, he sent E-​mail 2 a.m. saying they would not come on the day but next day. On Tuesday no body showed up at 8 a.m. and I waited and called him at around 9:30 a.m. He seemed surprised to hear that nobody was here and said he would call the painter and he was going to be here in 20 minutes. NOBODY SHOWED UP UNTIL 11:20 a.m.
This company recruits mostly college students as painters with little or NO experience. In my case the painter was professional with 20+ years of experience, so I think I was lucky to have him do the job. However, the project manager had not paid the painter for his previous job for more than three weeks but had kept telling the painter that he would pay in a week, and the painter got very upset because of absence of the project manager while working in my house and left in the middle of painting the walls twice. The project manager tried to talk the painter into finishing the job, but he got very upset at the second time because of the project manager’s dishonesty about when he gets paid. As a result, the walls of my house were not finished. I called the project manager many times but he did not even show up. Both my husband and I contacted Alex and even the corporate HQ, but they did not seem taking the matter very seriously saying let the project manager work with the painter.
We were going to file a complaint with BBB and take a legal action, if necessary, but a few days later the painter finally got paid for his previous job and was willing to finish the job in my house. I had no objections about his work; in fact, he was very fast and thorough, but the project manager was terrible, always showing up a few hours later than when he said he would with many excuses and not even coming when I had a crisis. Management of this company’s handling the situation was not good, either. We paid a lot of money for the job, but the painter who did great job was getting paid only for a fraction of the amount which is not right. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.
