I love Churches chicken… But… when I checked their website for large size meals, then called two stores, both stores had no idea what I was talking about. I was informed by the guy who answered that corporate is really bad about informing the stores about what they put on their website. Cmon Churches. In this day of technology, you might want to step up your game a little and keep your stores all informed about what you post on your website as Plan before you go” I couldn’t plan anything because neither of your stores know about what’s posted on your website! I’ll switch the KFC or El Pollo Loco

The food is good .the spicy tenders is what I always go for much better than the bone chicken, mashed potatoes and biscuits are so good! Only upside is that they dont have honey packets when other Church’s chickens I been to do, the customer service sucks here will admit that nothings but noisy looking staff that just like to talk among themself and not do their job.

You’ve checked in here 8 times! What keeps you coming back? Well, Unilocal!,since you asked: It’s the crispy spicy ghettofabulous amazeballs juicy craveable goodness that is their spicy fried chicken. The spicy batter is super flavorful and crunchy, and the chicken inside is always moist and juicy and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Yes it’s fast food, yes it’s a chain, and yes it’s a drive-thru… and yes it’s completely fattening and bad for me… but hells bells if it’s not still one of my favorite things to eat! With mashed potatoes and gravy on the side to dip it in. *nod* And a side of the crunchy creamy gooey goodness that is their jalapeño cheese bombers to start eating immediately in my car as I’m pulling out of the drive through. *nod nod nod* And honorable mention to their honey glazed biscuits which are even better cold so make a perfect desserty snack a bit later. I’m not a drive-through-fried-chicken connoisseur — I can probably count on one hand how many of such places I’ve been to before coming here — but I do think some locations *are* better than others and this is the best one I’ve tried. I had never actually craved fried chicken until I randomly came here for my first time a couple years back and got hooked. Now I crave it(and have to talk myself out of it) more often than I care to admit. When I do give into my cravings though, this place has always been a win. They always get my order right, service has always been prompt, and the lovely lady who seems to always be working the drive through is extraordinarily friendly and warm. So there’s my confession: I love me some Church’s Chicken! Judge away!

Everything was fantastice. Went to this Church’s Chicken before going to Comic Con this year and ate it all 4 days that we stayed in San Diego. Delicious chicken, sweet tea, biscuits and mashed potatoes(And I usually don’t eat mashed potatoes!)

I got ticked off that KFC cut back one side for the meals so I thought I would give Church’s a try. Years ago, I lived near a Church’s in LA that eventually burned down. Before the fire, they had excellent fried chicken. I drove through this evening and tried to make my order but the squawk box was defective and I could barely understand the gal taking my order and she couldn’t understand me. I ordered a three piece dinner with dark meat. I got a leg, thigh and breast. So much for dark meat. The chicken tasted of stale oil and not much else. I got only one side as apparently Church’s adopted the sly price raise method of KFC by dropping a side. The cole slaw was good and the best part of the meal was the biscuit. It is pretty bad when the best part of a fried chicken dinner is the biscuit.

Oh my goodness gracious how have I not been to this magnificent chicken palace before?! After a long day of errands I decided to get something to eat on the way home since I didn’t feel like cooking. I saw Church’s chicken and had never been there and it sounded good so I pulled over and went through the drive-through. Although I had no idea what the lady was saying through the drive-through speaker since her accent was so thick, I proceeded to order the #4 which was a four piece chicken tenders with french fries and a drink. In under five minutes, I had a bagful of fried goodness. The fries were magnificent they were hot and perfectly cooked with a little bit of salt just the way I like them. The chicken tenders were generously and meaty with a crispy better crust surrounding them. Also inside the box was a fluffy honey butter biscuit with a crispy top. The drink was huge and I got three different sauces. She was thoughtful enough to also put ketchup and salt in my bag. Now I am completely stuffed in a food coma with a churches chicken baby and I can’t move but it was worth it and all for under 10 bucks!

I have never been to churches before, but I’ve heard nothing but good things. Went here for my first time tonight. When we pulled up to the window to order, the lady taking the order asked us twice to repeat our order and then, finally asked us to pull up to the window, because she couldn’t understand. When we got up to the window we gave her our order again and she couldn’t understand what we were saying. She had a thick Spanish accent. We ordered a four piece strip combo with a side of mac and cheese. After she finally got our order, we waited almost 15 minutes for the food. Once we got it, I checked the bag and everything was in there so we drove home. Once, we got home I opened the box and the chicken wasn’t even crispy and the chicken itself was slimy. The mac and cheese was horrible. What did we wait 15 minutes in line for?

Man this place is awful! The chicken was soooo greasy and almost seemed under cooked. Yes fried chicken should be greasy, but it should taste good too. KFC is like caviar compared to this chicken… I would recommend bringing your fast food dollars elsewhere!

I had not had their friend chicken in a long time. Still flavorful and crispy. I came by to grab some pieces to share with co-workers. Everyone enjoyed the fattiness. The drive thru has a wierd set up if you come from the opposite street. Cash only at the time credit card machine was down. Spicy crispy chicken is spicy.

I want to give this place an A for effort, but man… I went there for the first time after a long day at Balboa Park in hopes of getting a quick bite to eat, but ended up standing in line inside the restaurant fanning myself in the stuffy heat. There were only 3 employees working — 1 working the drive-thru, 1 working in the front, and 1 frying the chicken. They were shiny in sweat, talking 100mph to the customers, and dropping things left and right. Another lady came in, but not in uniform and seemed to think the other employees had all the time in the world because she literally just stood in the middle of their workspace and was trying to talk to them about something in spanish. I waited patiently and eventually took my order home and enjoyed my fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Thinking about it now, I don’t think I will return to this location. I cringe while remembering the corn soaking in a pool of butter by the cash register and the employees carelessly squirting globs of more butter on the biscuits right before literally throwing them into bags for customers. Ehckkk.

Chicken is really the only thing that’s good here. The french fries are ok. Corn on the cob was over cooked and a little mushy. The biscuits were so greasy. Just get the chicken and you’ll be set. The staff was friendly.

I love church’s but I’m from the Midwest and this west coast Church’s has it all wrong. I asked for spicy chicken strips and they gave me regular. The fried okra was great, but I then looked at the lid of my cup and there were ants crawling under the lid! When I opened the cup there were ants floating in my drink! C’mon Church’s DOBETTER! You are the only Church’s within hours of me and I would appreciate it if the employees at your establishment did not greet my husband and I via moose-knuckle! Good day!

They are always dirty. They make you wait and wait. The chicken is bad. Biscuit are good. I hate that the owner cares less too. It’s like she doesn’t even care that people complain. It’s the worst in San Diego. Mexicans have good work ethic but not here, their uniforms are dirty. They are dirty. There is guy flaunting around in back always staring at me. He is a female impersonator but that’s bit the problem, he cooks but doesn’t wash his hands often. I avoid this place.

I would give it zero if I could. made both of my roommates sick to their stomach. They couldn’t even eat it because it was so greasy and tough like it had been sitting there for hours. Sides were cold and flies everywhere inside. Never again. I didn’t expect this from Church’s.

I’ve only had the Churches Chicken at San Ysidro, i knew there was one closer on El Cajon Blvd, the chicken had good taste, didn’t seem as oily or greasy as the San Ysidro location, so that might be good, or bad, depending on how you look at it, the food took a little time to get, i mean don’t you have the chicken already made in the back? i wasn’t in a hurry so it was okay, if i have a craving for fried chicken, and in the neighborhood, I’d go back!
