Chevron Stations

This Chevron is on the corner of a busy intersection and seems to be the only gas station visible in the immediate area.
They have completely renovated this place finally and it’s kept in a much cleaner state these days. The old gas pumps have been replaced, the building and parking lines have been repainted, and even the sign advertising its prices has been updated.
Beggars are still a common sight here, but I feel much safer coming here at night now. I am pleased that the gas prices haven’t increased since the renovations.
As I mentioned earlier, this gas station is located on the corner of a busy intersection, so getting out can be a problem. I would suggest exiting on the Midway Drive side versus Rosecrans, which seems to have heavier traffic.

This gas station just has a small convenient store. According to Gas Buddy, it is above average in price compared to other gas stations in the area. It is located in the heart of the Midway District so expect traffic for the most part of the day when coming here. Overall, this is a mediocre gas station for the area. Based on the inevitable hassle getting in and out of here can be as well as the high gas price compared to neighboring stations, I’d pass.

24 hours, if you need assistance you can just push a button on the pump and they contact you.
Very competitive prices, priced similar to cheaper gas stations. Well lit with enough stalls. Can get busy though. Unfortunately it’s located in a busy corner, but just get there early.
I do tend to see a lot of broken stalls, but stuff happens. It’s a busy gas station so expect things to happen. They also have 3 parking spots for consumers not needing gas.

This is just about the ONLY gas station I’ve seen yet that doesn’t have me struggling to find loose change in my pockets or my car just to fill up a $ 1 worth of air in my tires. Someone posted a one star review because gas prices keep changing-​REALLY?! Are you going to rate all the gas stations the same across the nation then?!
However it is also a hassle to try and get back onto the highway. I’d give this place ANOTHER STAR IF I COULD EVER GRT MY VONS CARD to WORK at their gas station though.

The air and water are free and the prices are the lowest I have seen this close to the city center.

Its a gas station… they are always busy. Parking is hard, getting out… even worse. Oh, and the prices. Yeah!

This Chevron is well lit at night & I’ve never had a problem at the pump. They accept credit cards (hooray!) They aren’t not less expensive then others, it’s more about convenience.
This Chevron is really hard to get out of of. You can only go one direction (east on Midway), or if you want to wait a while you might be able to get into the traffic going north on Rosecrans.
I don’t have any personal complaints. Not my favorite gas station in the area, but no reason to hate it either.

I was in the area and wanted to fill up for the ride home.
Chevron’s premium was actually cheaper than Arco’s ??? These 2 stations are about a half mile apart.
$ 40 fill-​up…

Gas stations are pretty much my least favorite thing ever; add in a bad experience and I don’t want to give the Midway Chevron ANY stars — plus this is kind of a dual review. So… one star it is.
A coworker surprised me with a $ 25 gas card for Chevron, and this was the closest station to my work, so it was a necessary travel on my lunchtime errand-​running. I go in, tell the cashier to put 25 on Pump # Whatever, and she instructs me to swipe my card on the reader.
I do. It fails.
We try again. It fails.
I let her know it’s a brand new card and ask if I should call the number on it, or if she had a way to type in the numbers on the register to take payment. She said no, that it just didn’t work, sorry.
At this point I was pretty low on gas, so I got my debit card from the car and said, «This is my debit card, I’ll just use this.» (Total let-​down when you’re expecting free gas and don’t get it.)
I swipe my card, wait to put in my pin, and the cashier said, «It was declined.» Que? I say, «But… I need to put in my pin.», to which she responds, «Well it just was declined, so it doesn’t work. Sorry.»
Right. Considering I had JUST gotten paid and was fully aware that there was more than enough there for a tank of gas, it’s more like your card reader doesn’t work. This made me cranky because I only get half an hour for lunch and don’t have time for wasting time.
My other errand was in Mission Valley, so I decided to try my luck at the Chevron on Camino Del Rio North. Success!
Handed the guy my gift card, he rings it up, and I pump my gas. Plus their entrance/​exit situation is really easy, and much less of a hassle than the one on Midway. So… in conclusion, five stars to the Camino Del Rio Norte Chevron, zero to the Midway Chevron.
