Camp Run-A-Mutt Point Loma

I know there are several places that offer Dog care, But i choose this please because it is right next to the gym that i go and now Im so glad that i pick this place.
I have 2 dogs and i personally thought using a dog care is not my thing because it sounded like a little irresponsible as a dog owner. (I think when you decide to have a dog you commit to take care of them no matter what. as a partner, as a family) But because my work situation i need to leave my house for a long hours sometimes. After reading the reviews, checking the website, visiting them just to see how they are… i decided to give it a try.
First day i left my dogs there, i was thinking about my dogs how they are doing the whole time at work. i was just worried and curious. there is a camera on their web site called «Muttcams» and i was checking that to see if i can find my dogs. And WOW there’s so many dogs there !!!
Saw my dogs making new friends, running around, splashing the waters. Also one of the staff member send me couple pictures of my dogs to let me know that they are doing just fine. i really really appreciate when they send me the picture. It felt like they know that i am curious abut how my dogs were doing and also gave me the idea that the staff there KNOW and CARE about every each dogs. When i went to pick them up, they give me a little note
Since then, i take my dogs one a week here. Every time i step in, all the staffs are very friendly and nice. What surprise me the most is they remember my dogs name. if you see the Mattcams you’ll have an idea of how many dogs they are dealing with everyday and yet they seem like they remember most of the dogs name. i thought that is amazing.
Also the other day i was picking up my dogs and one of the staff was interested in the meaning of my dogs name. «HANA means flower in Japanese and KAIRI means ocean and village in Japanese » I just answered it like noting special everyday conversation but he made sure to remember it next time we went there.

I totally LOVE this place not only because my dogs always have a great time and come home super tired (sleep like a baby) but also all those small things that every staff members do to us (dog owners) to make us feel special and comfortable.

I took my pup there when he was a little younger, almost a year old, so he could run around and get some energy out during the day while I was at work. We didn’t have any problems, and i literally thought this place was a god send until my pup started coming home infested in fleas. He’s a husky so his hair is a bit longer than usual, and he was on flea meds but it still didn’t do anything. I mentioned it to the owner, and she seemed shocked. The next day the owner called my emergency contact (not me for some crazy reason?) and told them that my dog needed more training. I called her back and asked them to recommend someone to maybe train while he was at the facility and they recommended a dog trainer. So I booked the trainer to come out that week in the facility. A month prior to this, I had booked a weekend getaway so I had also booked overnight accommodations for my pup at this facility around that same time. THE NIGHT BEFORE, we were scheduled to leave and drop off my pup, we received a call from the owner (this time she called me) stating that my dog could not stay overnight! I was so mad, they had my reservation for a month, and they called me the night before??? She said she was worried that my dog might get injured since he was a pup and didn’t have a lot of manners, even though he showed no signs of aggression, she was mainly worried about the insurance involved if another dog injured my dog for being too playful. The owner told me they were scheduled to have approximately 100 dogs there that weekend, and couldn’t fit my pup in. ARE U KIDDING ME? I was so angry, i had already booked flights to leave in 12 hours, and I had to scramble to get my dog another sitter. The trainer we had booked apparently the week prior to work with him at the facility had just put him in the kennel the entire time she was there and charged me a 100 dollars to basically punish my pup (that is for another Unilocal review.)
Overall, this facility has no customer service skills, and i will tell anyone and everyone not to take their pups there! I cannot handle incompetent business owners who do not take the time to make things right.

Or dog really likes this place because there are other dogs to socialize and play with and they have 2 water features which she loves! They have 5 cameras so you can check on your dog throughout the day, although there are some blind spots. Some of the staff are really friendly, know my dog by name and seem to really like their job. She’s whipped when we get home so she’s burns a ton of energy there.

I wish there were ten stars because I would give camp run a mutt all ten!!! Since the first time we took Wolverine to camp run a mutt for an open house he has loved every minute he spends there. My husband and I both work and are gone most of the day and didn’t want our puppy to be in the crate all day long. Since Wolverine was old enough to start attending he goes almost every day. The staff are always so excited to see him and he is just as excited to see them as well and comes home worn out. We like that there are humans in the yard all day to watch and play with the pups. We are very satisfied with the level of care that our puppy receives at camp run a mutt, Lore and Kim and the rest of the staff are so sweet and very attentive, always making sure to notify us if there is ever an issue or if our puppy seems not to be himself. We appreciate that they know our dog by name but also know his personality — its comforting to know they pay attention to him. He loves going here and is always excited to get in the car because he knows where he’s going :) we are very grateful to camp run a mutt for daily providing a place for our pup to enjoy himself without being locked in a crate all day long.

AMAZING doggie daycare and boarding place! We needed a place to board our dog overnight for a 4 day trip and I’ve driven by this place a few times /​saw them at a dog festival a while ago so we thought we were give them a try. This place can’t get any better for the price. Your dog is outside running around and socializing with other dogs, not stuck in a kennel /​crate by themselves. This is more than our dog gets being an apartment dog on a usual day. I love that we get to check up on them with the «muttcams» and then they also tell you about their stay with a «report card» at the end. We also had our golden retriever groomed and they did a great job and he smelled so good! He seemed so happy the few days we were gone. For having as many as over 100+ dogs on any given day, they are really attentive with each dog.
One thing I wish they had was cameras at night so we can check up on the little guy and a few more cameras to cover the areas where we couldn’t see him. :)

My dog LOVES coming here! We’ve been to many different daycares & boarding facilities, and this is definitely our favorite. Will never switch!

Julep loves coming here and it’s made such a change in her overall behavior as she grows up. The people here are awesome and really do care for the dogs. They play with them, is super clean, love on them and call you if your dog isn’t feeling well right away. We will keep coming here and do it 3x a week for a high energy puppy and it works perfect.

I can’t say enough good things about Lore, Kim and the amazing staff at Camp Run A Mutt. They have gone so far over the top multiple times to care for my baby and even manage some unexpected and extra-​ordinary needs during a vacation stay. I was blown away.
My dog feels the same, she LOVES it here! I almost suspect she’s slightly depressed when she has to come home.
Regarding the post below about failing to pay for needed medical care, I would like to report that my pup was injured and they investigated and felt it was appropriate for them to take responsibility. They paid for the needed surgery and all the follow up care, I have no doubt about their ethics.

MY DOG BROKE HIS LEG HERE — BUYER BEWARE!!!
I took my French Bulldog puppy here for an evaluation and they wanted me to leave him there for the date to complete the evaluation, which I did. Within 2 hours of leaving him there, I received a phone call that he’d hurt his leg. It turned out that he actually broke his leg while in this facility, which required an orthopedic surgeon to operate on him. This cost me about $ 3K in total expenses.
I spoke with Laura, the owner, and she refused to pay any portion of the expenses of the surgery. So, beware; if your pet is injured, they will not pay any of the costs! Frankly, I was shocked.

First time that we have to take our dog to a dog sitter. At first we are so apprehensive and worried since we never did this to our dog, but we’re on vacation and there’s a lot of places we want to go but it’s hard for us to bring our dog and definitely we don’t want to leave our pet at the hotel by himself. So we don’t have so much choice but to leave our pet to a dog sitter. But this place and all the staff made it easy for us. This place really knows what their doing. Their such a pro and they made us worry free. In fact they even update us and even sending pictures and webcam to check our dog anytime. So impress with place !! Excellent and they’re more than a five stars! Thanks !!

My German Shepherd has been going here for about 8 months and always comes back like she ran a marathon. She can’t wait to go and see all the friendly staff and other dogs, literally pulling me inside each time. Prices are very good especially the unlimited for the month and for overnight stay have never had an issue. It’s cage free so they can run around all day or night and not have me worry about being kenneled.
Update: in addition to having 5 cameras to watch your pet in the yard they occasionally will send a photo.

Was going on a trip to Europe for 3 weeks, was looking for a place to board my Goldens. Previously had boarded them with a vet/​board facility in Vista when I traveled (an hour drive from my home in Coronado) because one of my dogs was old, I wanted an on-​site vet given that my old gal had medical issues last time I traveled extensively. But, although I got the on-​site vet, my pups were kenneled most of the day, paid for extra walks (on street side walks), and no place for them to really get outside and play.
Wanted someplace better for them this time around. Enter Camp Run-​A-​Mutt in Pt. Loma.
Dogs, play, supervision, care, love. And lots of space for dogs to be dogs. Smiling, happy dogs when you bring them home.
On the day after I left for my trip, I got a call: my Lily, my old dog, wasn’t doing well. Not hearing from me due to a time difference, Lily was immediately taken to a vet. Tests were run, and then she was taken to VCA because she’d become critical. CRaM took the initiative to care for my girl. Calls, texts from CRaM, the vet, the emergency hospital … constant communication. Finally had to decide to put my 14 yo Golden down because she was riddled with cancer. CRaM offered to take my Snoop-​Dog to the vet to be with Lily when while she was put out of her pain, paid extra attention to Snoopy during his entire time while boarding. Not that I care about $ when it comes to my animals’ needs, but I wasn’t charged ANYTHING for CRaM for their time helping my girl. No transportation costs, no special needs up-​charge, nothing.
I never give superlative reviews, ever. Doing so now. Honestly can’t imagine a better place for my pup. Snoopy’s now enrolled in daycare. And that’s also a first.

Me & my BF plan on boarding our bull terrier pup here next month while we go on a mini vacay to San Francisco. He was a little hesitant to leave him somewhere or with someone else, but with perfect timing, today was Camp Run-a-Mutt’s open house. We walked around, enjoyed some food and drinks, met the staff and let our bull terrier puppy run around to explore and play with the other dogs. We’ve never seen him SO happy!
It was GREAT & WE are so excited to leave him here next month! The staff are SUPER friendly and the place is huge and clean. Will definitely be worth the money. I can’t WAIT! We can now look forward to our vacation without having to worry about our pup, knowing he’ll be in good hands!

This is literally the most amazing dog daycare in existence. All of the staff are so passionate and dedicated and share my obsession with dogs. The vibe is so positive from the moment you first step in the door, to when you retrieve your exhausted pup at the end of the day. There has been so much thought into making this daycare a truly safe and enriching for all of its clients. At the risk of seeming discriminatory, I think the fact that it is run by two women matters! It’s such a warm and inviting place and there was obviously a great deal of thought and concern in the design.
Additionally, I knew that Point Loma was the place for us when I had to go to New York and board Scout for ten days. I got a picture or two of her playing out in the yard texted to me nearly every day while I was gone, and when I picked her up, she was obviously happy and healthy.
Don’t hesitate. Try out one day at Point Loma and you will see the difference on your dog’s face. For me, it is worth it to drive out of my way to see my little mushy so stimulated and happy.

I found this doggie daycare on Unilocal and I have to say, it lives up to its reviews.
I took my 6 month old Lola there for her first daycare and she had such a great time. The staff wes fabulous. I felt so comfortable leaving her in their capable hands. I could tell right away that they were dog lovers and every dog that came in while I was in the registration process was so happy to be there.
Lola came home with a wonderful report card and they even sent me a pic via text of her playing with some new friends during the day.

I love this place, but more importantly, my dog loves this place.
I’m in a hard position where I have had to work extra long hours 3 days for 10 weeks. I did not want to leave my Bailey alone for that long, so I decided to take him to Camp Run-​A-​Mutt Point Loma on my long days. He loves it there — he gets to play all day and they take really good care of him. When I pull into the parking lot, he is jumping to get out of car. It make me happy to know that Bailey is at a safe, fun place on my long days.

The best boarding I have found. The staff is great, they know all the dogs by name and my dog loves it there.
I was dragging my feet writing this because it’s not like they need another 5 star review, but I have a doodle who is very social and this place is his fix. It’s like crack for my dog, if there was such a thing as healthy crack I suppose.

I’m very fortunate to have found Camp Run-​A-​Mutt in Point Loma; but not as fortunate as Louie — my ‘lil Bichon Frise. He is always excited when dropped off in the mornings; and flat-​out exhausted in the evenings from a hard day of play. In addition to almost weekly visits for day camp, he also had one long three-​day weekend stay. This was his first weekend pass while I was out of town. Since I was a bit worried, I called in a few times to check in on him and they were even kind enough to text me a few photos to show he was having a blast. Also, he has also had grooming services there a few times and it always turned out really well.
The location is very convenient, their facilities are nice and clean & the prices are affordable. Finally, everyone (literally every person I have spoken to at the facility) has always been so kind and super-​friendly and seem to genuinely like the fact Louie comes around weekly.
I would highly recommend Camp Run-​A-​Mutt to anyone looking for such services.

Austin LOVES Camp Run A Mutt. The moment we open the car door, we have to be ready to run because he sprints into the building. He goes a couple times a month and the staff members always know his name.
The mutt cams are awesome, although they could be a little better quality. That doesn’t stop me from watching them though!
The hours are very convenient and I know my dog is 1. safe and 2. having a great time when I leave him in their care.
The best part is that when I come from a 10 hour work day, Austin is just as tired as I am! I recommend them to EVERYONE I know — even people who don’t have dogs lol

We love our new day care place! Well I love it because Minnie loves it.
I love that this place is located right at the entrance of the freeway. It’s a super easy stop on the way to work.
Although they have a LOT of dogs here during the day, they seem to have 2 or 3 different areas for them to run around. There are usually 3 people always walking around keeping an eye on the pups.
They are super fast to pick up or clean up any puppies doing their business. I also love that they keep on eye on the smaller ones like my own. If it gets cold they’ll throw a sweater on her.
Also I LOVE the muttcams. I keep an eye on her throughout the day, and seeing her having fun really puts me at ease.
