Great spot if you want a quick sandwich with flavor!!! The parking is a little hectic but the food is great. The bread is fresh and the sandwiches are great! I ordered the #20 Turkey Bacon Avocado. The meal is around $ 8 and the atmosphere is nice and deli like.

My new favorite sandwich shop. Especially good for lunch. It was prepared fast and taste better than other sandwich shops(subway). Fast, affordable, & delicious. 5 stars!!!

The bread is the star of any of these sandwiches, but just about everything is good. Why not 5 stars; they only open until 4 pm mon-fri? A fan has to take a day off to get some deliciousness. Great taste, portions and price.

Better than subway, but nothing particularly unique. The setting is as generic as you can get. — 7 tiny tables for eating in. «Dining in» just too fancy of a phrase for this place. — plain walls with NO decorations or posters anywhere. — at the entrance, you see the bathroom, the service counter, and the kitchen behind it, with the Kitchen appearing to be largely dedicated to mixing, baking, and cooling their own bread. — menu selection is 28 sandwiches in 4 sizes, plus 3&6 foot varieties — all sandwiches are the same price for a given size. My large combo, which included chips and drink, was $ 8.10 — mild banana peppers was the most exotic topping. The bread was fresh and soft. The lunch meat was good enough but not spectacular. I had #2 turkey ham & Swiss; try have more intense options such as hot pastrami liver wurst and turkey bacon avacado. — overall a decent place to grab a sandwich while near the Naval base, but I do not understand why I is so highly rated. — warning; unless you have a motorcycle or a go cart, parking is not a joy. The spots are so small that my car’s backup camera’s safety lines were wider than the actual spot.

Great deli near NBSD. I have been coming here 7 years, never been disappointed, love the bread-thick and yummy rolls in wheat or white. Always friendly ladies working that remember the regulars. Can call ahead to order too

Great selection and really great prices! Service was extremely friendly and fast especially since I went during what appeared to be the lunch rush(around 1130). The place was packed but everyone was served quickly and with a smile. Loved that all the sandwiches cost the same no matter what meat or toppings you had on it and they had no problem making substitutes. Definitely will be back!

Turkey, Swiss, and avocado… So delicious! I had a serious craving for subway, but none of the ones around me had great reviews, so I searched delis, and found this gem. It’s just a regular hole in the wall deli with a delicious #28 sandwich. It got really busy at around 11, and it’s for a good reason.

WARNING. On the menu it says that sandwiches come with mayo, tomato, pickles, lettuce, onions, and peppers. It does not say MUSTARD. So when I ordered my sandwich I did not say no mustard because I didn’t think I had to. I just got home excited to eat only to find mustard. ONBOTHSIDESOFTHESANDWICH. so now I’m removing the bread and the first layer of the sandwich just so that I can enjoy my meal. Please update your menu board. Please.

stopped by today with my boyfriend. i got a regular #20(turkey, bacon, avocado) and my boyfriend got the same, but on wheat with extra bacon. sandwich came with onions, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. i opted out of the sweet peppers. the regular size was almost the size of a footlong and it ended up being $ 10.40 with tax for both. including the extra bacon. my boyfriend only had $ 20 dollars and .35 cents in change and the lady said it was okay and not to worry about the five cents. the sandwich was AWESOME(just needed a little salt) the bread was my favorite part and you can definitely taste the difference between the freshness here and what you would get at Subway. so impressed with the whole meal and experience! overall great customer service, delicious and cheap food, and the place was very clean! i would definitely come back any day for lunch!

Great sandwiches and the price cant be beat. I go here probably three times a week around 11:30 am, 15% of the time the parking can be a little tricky but not too bad. Fresh bread, good tasty meats and very friendly staff. Fast service. Much better than Subway. A little heavy on the bread but it tastes goooood.

I have been going to this place since high school. Has it already been 20 years? Anyway, these are the best sandwiches in San Diego. They are made with fresh ingredients, and the same family has run it forever. Want a great sandwich? Go to Brown Bag!

Simple, efficient, inexpensive. I have never been disappointed. If you want a deli, go to a deli. If you want a sammich, go… here. …and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

There aren’t many good lunch options near the naval station, so I Unilocaled«sandwich» and this place popped up. A lot of people were saying that this place was better than subway, but it was just«ok.» Prices are cheaper and they give you more meat, but it was anything special. I got the ham, turkey, and roast beef sandwich with provolone and all the toppings with it. Try it if you want something other than subway.

Brown Bag Deli is a small sandwich shop off Main Street by the Naval Base. The menu has plenty of good options and you can modify the toppings and cold cuts as you see fit. If you plan on stopping in, do it before 11 or else you’ll be met with a decent wait. It’s small and modest, but it gets packed during lunch hours. A full combo meal includes chips and a drink and that usually runs to about 9 dollars. This is one of my «go to» places for lunch during the work week. It’s convenient, and the sandwiches are tasty.
