It’s still new and kinda hidden off the 8, so it’s a little slow and the atmosphere isn’t too crazy yet but the beer is good and the prices match. I’ll be going back soon!

Good vibe with an open floor plan. Outside seating area is gonna be clutch in the summer. Interesting food service via outsider catering companies rotated daily. Wondering how viable that concept is long term. Pretty good beer, not great. Service neither added nor detracted from the experience, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Off the heated path a little but worth stopping in. Hope this place has the legs to stick around for awhile, once it get a little more personality it could be a legit spot for locals.

Didn’t even know that this place snuck into PL. But I’m glad I do now, had a quick tour from Seth, tried all of the available beers with my coworkers and we are likely going to make this the post work meet up spot. Welcoming and informative staff, dog friendly, didn’t see a kitchen but likely there’s food trucks here off and on. We will be back, cheers.

We were creeping around before it opened and all of a sudden the door swung open and we were enthusiastically ushered in by the nicest guys who own/​run/​operate the brewery. They gave us a quick tour and let us taste their beers (which were delightful, to say the least). I love what they’re about, «being nice and making good beer.»

This place was a huge disappointment not because of the beer quality but their customer service has miles to go before it could ever be any good. Came in to grab a growler, first time there so I was naturally interested in what they had. This guy running the bar needs that book, customer service for dummy’s because he couldn’t take 1 second to stop talking and properly help. Nothing I can’t stand more when someone will go out of the way for a customer at the expense of another. I couldn’t even sign for my purchase without being rushed out of the way by the other customer just dying to talk to his buddy working the counter. When I was asking this guy about the beer he was acting like I asked him about his 3^rd grade science project, no enthusiasm, real short and abrupt, you’re in a people pleasing industry bro!!! Talk to me, shoot the shit I’m buying something from you!!! I hope the owner reads these because that employee just lost you my support because of their poor fucking attitude!

This place is as good as it gets. What differentiates this brewery from others is its minimalistic appearance. You’re here to drink amazing beer and hang out with friends. Simple. Nothing flashy here. No ridiculous koi pond or flower garden. If you don’t know what you are in the mood for the bartender takes the time to explain each brew. They also have some experimental batches they are testing out which is great! Plenty of street parking and close to the Sports Arena. Huge plus is the outdoor seating and hosted food they have from vendors. I’ve been there for tacos and BBQ on separate occasions. Very affordable and tasty.
I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a no-​nonsense brewery.

This place was ok. Stopped by on a Sunday at 4. There were a few other people in the join watching the chargers game which they had on their single tv. Which is ok. I don’t expect tvs is breweries anyways. The bartender was nice. They were doing flights and whatnot. They have a big clear brewing area which was very tidy. As well as an outdoor patio which faces the 8. Which I don’t love. Ver spacious though.
We ordered a few cold brews on nitro. They were interesting. I liked it but my friends weren’t huge fans. We also ordered a round of session IPAs. I thought they were very mediocre.
If I return again by chance I’ll have to give some of their other beers a try. I’m not going to give them a crappy rating just cuz i only tried one beer. But based on décor, service, and overall coolness and the standard in the industry I’m giving it 3.

Good atmosphere and good beers. It’s worth checking out. Btw, excellent sour!!! My wife likes the brown sour but the sour wheat is my favorite.

Another good brewery in San Diego. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to really stand out in my opinion. I hope they do well being close the the Sports Arena but with Modern Times nearby it has it’s work cut out for it.
They had cold brew coffee on tap, or would have if it wasn’t out. I wish I could have tried that.
I really liked the outdoor seating area and when I was there they had a BBQ food truck set up shop which is a nice option.

I soooooo wanted to like this place since it’s so close to my house, but their beer just isn’t there… yet. The atmosphere is fun, a good spot to stop before s show at Sports Arena. Just don’t expect much from their craft brews.

Stumbled upon this place by accident but so happy I did. I’m a fan of sour beers so was excited they had two to taste. The San Diego Pale Ale was the clear winner of the night. And both nitro selections were on point too. Can’t wait until they build up their menu, reputation, and distribution.

Bay City was the shirt of the month for the November ‘Shirts on Tap’ box. It included a coupon for half off a flight of tasters for you and a friend (get two for the price of one). I didn’t know what to expect — didn’t read any reviews — didn’t really look up pictures or anything. I came in this past weekend to try it out.
Located off of Sports Arena. Your usual industrial environment for small, up and coming breweries. Down the block from Modern Times. Bartender told us they opened 3 months ago, iirc? Simple, modern/​industrial interior. Outdoor and indoor seating. Dog friendly. Very, very clean.
Bf and I both got a flight (total 8 tasters w/​the coupon) so we ended up just getting one of each beer they currently had on tap. They were out of their two big sellers: the Vienna Lager and the San Diego Pale Ale. The bartender even threw in an extra taster of the Coffee Pale Ale on nitro. Good. Shit. The flights totaled to $ 6 each so… originally it would have been $ 12 for a flight of four… which sounds a biiiiit much.
BUT all the beers were delicious! Went down well, good flavor, simple yet interesting. Southern Hemisphere was one of my favorites, as was the Sour Brown and the Coffee Pale Ale (regular and nitro). Okay jk they were all pretty good, it’s hard to pick favorites. I even liked the Session IPA and I don’t usually like Sessions. I guess I shouldn’t’ve been surprised at the yummy quality but… I was!
Thank you Bay City for a good time and thank you to Shirts on Tap for introducing me to a cool, new brewery. Wish I still lived in SD but I hope to be back soon. :)

4 stars, but more like a 3.7 because the price for tasters is pulling it down.
I really liked my time there. Friendly bartenders, nice patrons, and good brews.
My favorite beer without a doubt was their ***Brown Sour. That is a winner!!!***
Only downside is that the tasters are a bit on the pricey side:
4 tasters for $ 12 (you could get a set of 4 for $ 10, but that limits you to their ‘tier 1′ beers; have to pony up $ 12 to have some of those tasters be from tiers 2 or 3).
Given the price of the tasters, this is a better place to come for a pint… I see myself going back for a pint of their Brown Sour, that’s for sure.

Hard to find, as Siri led down the wrong path… but we were glad we kept looking. Great beer with a industrial atmosphere and friendly service! Next time we’re in San Diego, we’ll be back!

I’m pretty selective in giving a review for a brewery in San Diego, because they are becoming a dime a dozen. With that being said Bay City is awesome once you find it. Its tucked south of the 8 between Sports arena and the highway. Everyone is super nice and really excited about the beers they are brewing. The experimental pale ale is outstanding. They also have 2 sours on tap that can make someone that doesn’t like sours, like sours. They have a great outside sitting area and often have food trucks or food vendors set up. You must stop in for a flight. You will not be dissapointed.

This place is in a strange location, the no man’s land between the 8 and Sports Arena. Yet, the open doors let in the cool breeze and they have a parking lot AND outdoor seating.
The bottom line: beer is great, atmosphere is great, and you should visit.

Just stopped in for my first visit and here are my first impressions:
1) Friendly service
2) The Experimental Pale Ale is pretty damn good
3) The ambiance is great-​good natural light, able to see all the brewing equipment, outside beer garden, lots of bar space
4) Their flight prices make zero sense. Individual tasters are supposedly $ 1.50/each for their Tier 1 beers (their standard beers) and $ 2.00 for their Tier 2 beers but they «fill them to the top» when you order a flight. The flight is $ ¹⁰⁄₄ of the Tier 1 beers and we added the Tier 2 Pale for an extra $ 2.00. Sooooo that makes the Tier 1 beers $ 2.50 a piece in the flight and $ 2.00 for the Tier 2… yeah…

What a refreshing, welcoming atmosphere.
Scott greeted us before we sat down, explained the concept, and poured us beers aimed at our tastes. Knocked it out of the park.
Awesome outdoor area for enjoying grub from food trucks.

They’re open! I am a big session IPA guy and Red nailed it on one of his first offerings! It is a pleasure to welcome another local brewer and tasting room to Point Loma/​OB! Stay tuned for more greatness like food trucks!!!

Great beer in a cool location! Great view of the sunset. My girlfriend and I happened in here on their opening and had a great time. In a warehouse off the 8 freeway with simplistic classy interior. Great beer and a sushi bar in the back with plenty of room for a fun time. I will definitely be back again. Thanks for the good time.
