I got my hair cut by Yuri and she delivered! I’m in love with it and will be coming back to this salon from now on!

I went to b: b Meme for a cut and Koji proved himself to be an absolute wizard with a pair of scissors. One of the best cuts I’ve ever had. Highly recommend.

Oanh is amazing I have been with her since her Dearinger days! She’s so amazing at what she does and nails it every time! I lived in Chicago for a few years and would fly back to see her & now I live in Orange County and drive all the way here. In the years that I have been going to her not once have I ever had an experience that I was disappointed in. Love her and her place she’s amazing and I look my best every time I leave her.

I’m exchange student. I went to hair salon first time in San Diego. I was really nervous, but I’m happy now because teachers, classmates, and until the passenger were met by Trolly also told me «your hairstyle is cute!».
I introduced the salon to classmates.

This salon is amazing. Oahn and Koji are two truly talented artists with great technique.
Oahn is magical colorist — my hair was in tricky and complicated situation with covering gray hair with extremely dark colors, but she fixed it and now my highlights are looking very natural and great.
Koji also has mad skills for hair cuts. I showed a picture, he arranged to the perfect short bob tailored to shape of my face and head. I thought it would be difficult to illustrate what kind of hair style i wanted, even with a picture, he somehow got me.
I am very happy with the result, both color and the cut. They are artists that I can trust!

Unfortunately the ‘attitude’ started to slide downhill after I had known Koji and his partner for a year. More than happy to talk over me (or down to me). I moved on to Dearinger (the salon Koji left), and now I’m happy.

I was so lucky to find such a great hair salon after I moved away from my long term hairapist. Oanh is so sweet and I love how she does my hair! Her highlights are magic!

I am so happy with the color and cut I received from Oanh and Koji. Oanh recommended a beautifully rich enhancement to my natural color. She is so professional and such a nice person.
Koji’s cut is masterful. I have fine, straight and thinning hair and his cut added life, volume and movement. I could let it dry without styling and it would look fine. Even when I wake up in the morning or if the wind blows it, it falls into place without even brushing it. I feel that my hair is in great hands with these artists.

Koji used to be my stylist at the previous salon I used to go to. I «lost ’ him for a while and am so glad to have found him again at his very own salon. He is a master of his craft and I always feel like a million bucks after getting my hair done. He knows what looks best for you and I trust what he says is best for me. Plus, we always have the most amazing conversation! Thanks, Koji. Will be back when the hair goes crazy again. :D

Love Love Love this salon Oanh has been doing my hair for over 10 years and I have never wanted anyone different to work on my hair. She is an expert at color and works magic. I would highly recommend that you try my amazing colorist!!!

As much as I don’t want to put it out there that my hair color is less than natural … I have to let you know what an amazing artist Oanh is! She’s been doing my highlights for, oh, about 10 years and I get stopped and asked about the color All.The.Time. Although color is her original specialty, I recently let her cut my hair for the first time. I am well aware that she is talented with scissors, but I am just that picky. I let her chop off my long hair and I couldn’t be more thrilled.

I’ve been wanting the granny hair/​ombré look for at least a year now. It wasn’t up until about 2 weeks ago that I decided to take action! After searching for what felt like years, I narrowed my list down to Moga and B: b meme salon. SO glad that I chose this place! I made a call but no one answered (probably with a client) so I easily booked an appointment online. Koji called me back, but I was unable to answer so he left a voice message. I called the next day and we talked about what I wanted for my cut and style. The next Friday I walked into Oanh and Kojis salon, I was warmly greeted by both and went on with my appointment. The space for the salon is the perfect size for everything that needs to be done. Koji prepared/​evened out my hair for Oanh and the rest is history! I sort of just let him shape it however he wanted, but no ragrets! Not even one letter! Lol.
conversations with both Koji and Oanh came up so naturally and it didn’t feel pressured like most places I’ve gone to. Felt like I’ve known them for years.
We were unsure of how my hair would react to the toner and bleach so I agreed to do peekaboo highlights and a gunmetal gray to see how it would look like. just in case I didn’t like it and would want to cover it up. My hair reacted so nicely to it, No need to cover it up because I loved it! Ok review is getting too long, Bought some shampoo, conditioner and serum to go along with it!
Can’t wait for my next appointment, Will be going lighter!
Hubz loved it so much that he wants to go gray too!
HAIR UPDATE: The gun metal gray sort of faded away but that’s what I was expecting anyways. It was fun while it lasted, Oanh did tell me before hand how long the color would typically last for (2 weeks) since it doesn’t have a lot of pigment in it and how dark my hair was. But still, no ragrets! The blond-​ash gray portions have lighten but again, it’s what we were expecting, it’s all good! Coming in for my 6 week appointment at the end of the month ^.^

Amazing! Best hair cut, color and style I have had in years! I have very fine hair and my hair has ever looked so full and healthy! FIVE STARS!

It was one of those days where I was desperate to get a haircut after I looked in the mirror and lamented my limp, flat hair. My hair’s been thinning over the years and that day, I was eager to find a salon in the area that could fix the issue. I actually looked up «asian hair salon» on Unilocal because I thought an Asian hair maesto would know best how to deal with my locks, and that’s how I stumbled upon b: b Meme!
Immediately I was impressed by the reviewers who said they tell Koji to do whatever he wants, and now I know why. I’ve gotten 2 haircuts from him already, and I’m convinced he’s an artist and wizard. With the 1^st haircut, he gave me a short and chic style, complete with bangs which made my hair look fuller and drew attention from my thinning side part. A week ago, I returned for a follow-​up, just thinking I’d get a trim because what else can you do with short hair? But Koji gave me a completely new look by texturizing my hair and creating structure and volume. It also brought out my natural waves to the point it looks like I got a perm. Totally amazing. Both times, I got many compliments– more so than any stylist I’ve been to before!
I am totally a fan of Koji, and he is truly the first stylist whom I’d completely trust to do whatever with my hair, because I know that it will look like a work of art at the end! As long as I live and breathe in SD, I’ll definitely be getting haircuts from him. :)

Oanh is wonderful! I’ve gone through several hair stylists over the years, never really clicking with any, or being truly happy afterwards. Oanh has done my hair twice now (making it lighter/​highlighting) after I’ve had it dyed black for years. It’s very apparent that she is knowledgable about her trade and has an eye for it, along with having the natural talent for being good at what she does. My hair feels healthier and she is helping the areas that were cut too short by a previous stylist. Not to mention all of the products Oanh has suggested for me have been perfect and I’ve been satisfied with. The salon is simple but chic, and not pretentious! Appointments are easy and I love the email confirmation. Excited to finally have found someone I feel comfortable & trust my hair with!

I needed to get my hair shampooed and blow dried for an event tonight. My hotel concierge recommended the place she goes to. She called and was able to get me in right away which was nice.
The owner, Oanh greeted me and was the one who performed my service. Very thorough shampoo and very relaxing manner.
I loved the outcome, she blow dried my hair which is extremely thick and then smoothed it and curled it with a flat iron. Very elegant finish.
Cost was $ 35 which seems to be the standard price in San Diego for a shampoo blow dry.
There is street parking available which is nice so close to downtown Gaslamp area.
She had such a lovely demeanor and was so fast!
I will be back next time I’m in the San Diego area!

So… I’m actually a woman but I’m using my husband’s account to write a review because I really want it to be known how wonderfully talented Oanh is as a colorist. So here it goes:
I’ve been seeing Oanh for a few years now, dating back to her days at Dearinger. Prior to that, I had been bouncing around from salon to salon all throughout San Diego County (from Carlsbad down to Hillcrest), trying to find a good stylist to highlight my hair. I am extremely picky about my hair. I used to live in LA, the capital of blonde highlights and had struggled to find someone who would measure up to that experience. I was referred to Oanh through a coworker who had gorgeous hair. It only took one appointment and I was hooked. Oanh is the BEST, no joke. She is truly an artist and my hair consistently looks amazing.
Beyond her talent as a stylist, she is just such a hard working, humble person. She goes above and beyond for her clients because she truly values them. As an example, she drove all the way up to my home in Carlsbad to do my hair once Dearinger closed shop in Bird Rock (yes, highlights never sleep). I mean, who does that? I’ve also brought my newborn baby with me to my appointments on numerous occasions and she’s always made me feel extremely comfortable.
Bottom line, I’ve been around and tried out more stylist than I care to remember and this one is a keeper. I even started doing my Keratin there too. And Koji’s haircuts are pretty darn awesome as well. Highly recommended.
