Avalon Tattoo II

Mike Stobbe and I have been friends for almost 30 years. Back in the day he’d offer to tattoo me, but I always declined as I preferred my virgin skin. On my 21^st birthday, he gave me a gift certificate for Avalon in PB (where he was working at the time). Well that was a very generous gift and i certainly didn’t want to be rude. So i chose a cute little band of daisies around my ankle. And… i was hooked
I tried a couple other artists here and there, in the past. I realized many years ago, that Mike is the only one who truly satisfies, and I have been faithful ever since.
First of all, he’s such a cool ass dude and a genuinely wonderful guy. I enjoy our visits and catching up while I sit in the chair… but, if you’re looking for the perfect artist, look no further. Mike is VERY intuitive. Like, it’s crazy. Maybe because he’s known me so long? Who knows. I give him an idea and he runs with it. He’ll draw it up and I’m blown away every time because it’s exactly what I wanted!
At this point, I just let him work his magic. He knows my style and the colors i like. I love the special creative touches he adds to all my art. The color combinations are spectaular as is his line work.
Seriously, Mike, have I told you lately how much I love and appreciate you? Oh yeah, I have. Like, all the time lol.
Oh, and he’s the only artist i trust to tattoo my beautiful 19 year old daughter. She has seen him several times, as well. Perfection every time.
One last thing, he does not work weekends. Don’t walk in on a Friday and get all butt hurt that he won’t see you the next day. Mike is a family man, with a wonderful wife and cool little kid. Weekends are for family. I saw another reviewer whining about this shit. Whatever. Your loss dude

This shop was recommended to me from a coworker, and I couldn’t have been more impressed. It was clean and creative. The employees were very professional and honest… which is key when wanting to get something permanent on your body! My artist was D — he was awesome. This was my first tattoo, so I was very nervous. He put me at ease, was funny and made me feel like I had chosen the right place! The most important thing was that the tattoo looked EXACTLY like it was drawn on the paper I brought in — very important. If you are getting your first and your twentieth tattoo, I would highly recommend this place!

Alex is the artist to go to! My half sleeve is great and my family/​friends loved it! Alex does clean work, is not heavy handed (which would have been more painful) and is fast. He is a talented tattooist and deserves more recognition! Thank you! I will be recommending this shop!

So let me start by saying this, PANCH is the man this guy has to be one of the best artist in town. very nice guy he makes you feel comfortable if you been to other tattoo shops you might know what I’m talking
not going to write a book about this tattoo shop so take my advice when your looking for a new tattoo at least go see him and you can make your own judgment. panch did the gorilla just how I wanted it.

Chris hooked up my daughter up on her tattoo ! Not only is he a very knowledgeable person about tattoos and different skin colors, but he’s a very nice man ! Very cool vibe in there highly recommend him and this shop everyone was so nice

For Valentine’s and in celebration of two years of marriage, my husband and I got matching tattoos. I love the old-​school vibe of the shop and super laid back atmosphere. The placement of this particular tattoo was on the super-​sensitive fleshy part of my inner arm. Although it didn’t exactly tickle, the tattoo artist Chris wasn’t heavy handed and did super clean lines even though we have relatively small letters. It was finished quickly and left me wanting to get more work done. Love this place.

One name… JO ATWOOD! She did a cover-​up for me before the holidays and worked some serious MAGIC! She seriously conquered the beast. Over and over again, I was told by other artists that there was no way it could be done. My skin is too dark for color… Wrong! We wouldn’t be able to completely have your past tattoo gone… More wrong! And something that big on your arm to cover you up would make you not attractive… Oh honey, I’m beautiful! (That one shouldn’t have even left his mouth, but that’s another story.)
Jo ensured my piece was beautiful and that it complimented myself. She merged her own artistry with my idea so well, working with her was like tattooing myself. That’s what you want at the end of the day. Something as permanent as a tattoo should be an extension of yourself.
Previously, the tattoo was a real eye sore to me. It reminded me of a very trying time in my life, but more than anything, the suggested aftercare just made it very unforgiving. I was even scarred by the previous artist. Never again. Go to Avalon… Get a consultation from Jo or any of them there because you deserve a great piece of art.

Great place. Chris did an exceptional job and was lovely to talk to. Highly recommend this shop.

I know Avalon is usually busy but my cousin and I lucked out when he took us as walk-​ins.
I wanted very simple lettering across my forearm done and Alex gave me exactly what I needed. He was also incredibly patient in showing me the angles of how it should be positioned and took his time in making sure it was perfect.
This is my second tattoo & I’m definitely scheduling an appointment in the future because I have a back piece that needs fixing.

I recently got my first tattoo here by Pancho. I had met him a month before when he did my friend’s tattoo and I loved his work. My tattoo was simple yet meaningful and he did an amazing job in calming my nerves and giving me what I wanted. He also had a great sense of humor and was talented.

ALEX KUO is the man! The shop’s minimum is $ 80 & is located upstairs near Enigma piercing. Plenty of street parking. Clean, nice space. Awesome dude, awesome tattoo, awesome shop!

Four of us cousins went to this parlor to get our first tattoos and it was the best experience! It was clean and the artists were very friendly. The tattoos are beautiful and great quality. Paunch was excellent and put up with us. We are loud! Thanks! !

I got my first ink and couldn’t be happier. If every business had this kind of customer service and cleanliness, the world would be a better place. Denny was my tattoo artist and he gave me exactly what I asked for.
He spent at least 20+ minutes prepping his station before spelling the outline/​stencil. All equipment was autoclaved, sanitized and covered with plastic. Very professional. He shaved and cleaned the area and set the stencil. Tat took about 40 minutes. Beautiful shading, great lines and minimal discomfort. I could not have asked for a better artist or shop for first tat. Thanks Denny!

I was happy to have my first tatoo done yesterday by Dave Warshaw. The whole process from beginning to end was wonderful. He made the design exactly how I wanted it, and his attention to detail and color was amazing. He was professional, funny, and made my first experience a very positive one. Great vibe in the shop, and I’m sure you could not go wrong with any artist there. Thanks Dave!

Denny was my savior! A year ago, I had essentially gotten bullied into getting a tattoo that I didn’t want (long story short, I gave my idea, tattoo artist wanted to do their thing, told me she would come to a compromise but when she finished, none of my idea was left in the tattoo) so essentially this whole year I’ve been regretting this large-​albiet well done-​tattoo on my side.
But I came into Denny last minute and gave him just a few pictures and explanations of what I was originally looking for and that same day he was able to completely transform my tattoo into something beautiful, something that made me feel like showing it off rather than covering it up. Not to mention he was extremely flexible and didn’t make me feel like a wimp when I needed a break (side tattoos hurt!)
So thank you Denny once again for giving me such a beautiful piece of art!

I got a BEAUTIFUL tattoo by Denis! He does fantastic work, is a highly talented artist, fun, kind, and highly professional. It was the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had. What he created was far more beautiful than what I could have imagined. I will definitely come back for my next tattoo and recommend him to my friends (and you!).

Thank you Panch! I’ve been needing this tattoo for a while. It was a healing process for me of sorts, putting some painful things on «canvas» no one really knows exactly how much this means to me, but Panch nailed it. Thank you again! Such a nice guy and he did great work!

I’ve had all my previous tattoos done at the PB Avalon location. But I wanted a larger tattoo to cover the length of my forearm so I wanted to be a bit pickier in who I chose instead of just choosing who was available at the time. I looked at online portfolios and loved Dave Warshaw’s art so I came in for a consultation. I landed up making an appointment for two weeks later.
Dave is a total professional with a light touch on the machine. I didn’t feel a whole lot of pain even though it’s a sensitive area for me. And he was concerned about how I felt which was nice. He’s also a funny guy.
The tattoo was amazing though. He had great suggestions for color which made it even better. The line work is superb. I was worried about tattooing over scars but the work still looks really good.
I definitely recommend that you check out his profile. I know I will be going back to add on to my half sleeve in the future

I was beyond lucky Avalon had a small window for me on a Sunday when I decided to get a tattoo on a whim (I know, dumb idea). I called up, told him vaguely what I wanted, and 15min later I had a design to my liking. Chris was amazing. His design was great and he was easy to get along with. Prices are reasonable and looking through their portfolios they definitely do remarkable work.
