My worst experience as a patient EVER! Brings to mind the words negligent, incompetent, and uncaring. I have a deep understanding for the inner workings/​behind the scenes of a medical clinic and therefore can forgive A LOT… Sometimes we run late, sometimes we have to reschedule; but waiting 2 months for a biopsy result is unforgivable. Peace of mind is priceless and this clinic has stolen that from me.

This office is HORRIBLE! My wife was in need of having her ovaries removed due to extreme pain and ovarian cysts… When we asked why it
was taking soo long, The office (Christina) lied to us at least once a week for over two months telling us that they were waiting for the insurance to approve her surgery, she also told us that «its a busy time for us, a lot of women are having babies… yea well my wife is having seizures do to her pain… we have gone through 5 surgeries in the past year and know that it only takes a maximum of two weeks for our insurance to approve and schedule… After two months of the lies, 4 trips to the er with a burst ovarian cyst, i went into the office to get some sort of proof that they submitted anything to the insurance… She couldnt produce anything and informed me to call the headquarters in Downey… Well i called them, they gave me the run around «We will call you back» for four days. after that, they called our insurance and said that they will no longer provide care for my wife… This office is very neglectful, I CANNOT BELEIVE ANYONE WOULD TRUST THESE RATS TO BIRTH THEIR CHILD! !!! SAVE YOURSELF FROM THE HORROR WE WENT THROUGH AND FIND A DR WHO CARES.

Unbelievable! I’ve given this place too many chances. For starters waiting for an hour and a half just to see a nurse practitioner at the Frost Center was just irritating. One time they called me in an hour early just to have me wait for an hour for my original scheduled time. So I decided on the National City location, which is quicker, but no doctor again, just assistants.
All of the terrible reviews are right on: the urine sample, the MIA doctor, waiting, and cleanliness… It’s no joke. BEWARE!!! For some reason my old OB/​GYN (who I loved) used Dr. Michelle Gutierrez as a referral. Maybe that’s why I stayed as long as I did. To add insult to injury, I was told if I wanted to keep Dr. Gutierrez as a doctor I couldn’t deliver at Mary Birch, which was the first question I asked her when I bumped into her at an appointment earlier in the year. She decided now not to work there when I was 32 weeks pregnant. There’s more but I think I made my point. There are other places in San Diego that are so much better and are willing to take the time to speak with you and see you on a regular basis. I don’t blame the doctor. She might be excellent (???) but the office as a whole is ran very poorly. Don’t waste your or your baby’s time.

They are never on time. Dont check on pregnant patients enough. one of the drs didnt even know what spd was. Which is a medical term EVERY obgyn dr should know. They dont show a care in the world. Just straight out unorganized.
I didnt get my temperature taken which should be done every visit. and i complained of excruciating pain which she didnt even seem to care. I couldve been dialated for all i know but she didnt even do an exam.
Also i have waisted my time going to get an ultrasound just to find out no one will be there to do it and a blood sugar monitor that i was picking up couldnt be given to me because
It wasnt working. so i had to go back home and «wait for a call».
I am only seeing them because my insurance with my job ended and so i can no longer see my previous obgyn.
Good news is im not letting anyone from there deliver my baby. Im waiting for ky water to break and going to mary birch.

don’t waste your time in this office dr. gutierrez and her staff are useless nothing compared when dr. blake was at this office him and his receptionist were awesome they had the best customer service. i just find out dr. gutierrez lost my medical records from my 2 pregnancies

As if it couldn’t get any worse. They took my insurance card, made copies of it and verified that my insurance was in network. I then received a bill for $ 200 in the mail from a different Blue Shield provider. They failed to file my insurance properly and are causing me a lot of issues during a time of a lot of medical problems. I have never had this problem anywhere else I have been to.
Stay away, they’ll waste your time from when you get there to long after you leave.

Terrible front office staff. Very disorganized. Scheduling problems. Doc is hardly ever there. Had to go back twice as front office scheduled ultra sound on wrong day, supposed to mail us paper work and never received it had to drive and get it. Very long wait times. We received a call from the office regarding results and we returned the call several times to no avail, she never called back and my poor lovely pregnant girlfriend was worried sick for a week. Oh and we needed an Rx called in to rite aid… That never happened they said they were backed up. So they’re too busy to call in an Rx we desperately need to prevent baby brain issues? Referrered us out twice to places that don’t take our insurance. I mean really. Absolutely no attention to detail.

I decided to give this place a try as I just moved to the area and my OBGYN was too far away and less convenient.
Definitely would not recommend this place. Here’s what happened to me…
I made the appointment no problem. Showed up that day, waited at least 45 minutes in the waiting room. They obviously overbook. I was just going for my yearly exam. So I finally get into the room, waited a little longer before I was seen by Dr. Guiterrez. She seemed nice but spent no time at all addressing what I asked and I felt as though I was rushed out the door.
So when all was done, I went up to the front desk. I didn’t have any payment due but I was told I needed to come back to go over my results. I couldn’t just speak to someone over the phone about it. Well, now I know why, they want you to come back so they can charge you for an office visit.
Anyway, so I went back a week later to get my results. Only to get there wait again, and get into the office and be told they only have part of my results?! They were waiting for one more test to come back and since it was close to Christmas, They said they wouldn’t be able to give them to me until January. I understand around Christmas things get hectic. But wait, there’s more.
End of the first week in January comes and I still didn’t hear from them. So, I decided to be proactive and call them. Was told someone was going to call me back same day. Didn’t happen. I called them back a second time was told the same thing. Finally, I called a third time and was annoyed this time even more because I was told they needed to see me again and do more in depth test because something came back abnormal. Wow, really I had to call you guys three times to find out I need to come back for something that could be wrong? So I was obviously worried, and didn’t want to have to do any testing again at another place so I scheduled another appointment for the soonest I can get in.
I get there on my appointment date, fill out paperwork, wait about 30 minutes to be told she couldn’t see me for my appointment and that I could wait until she was back but they didn’t have a time frame for me. Um I am not going to sit there and wait all day to maybe be seen.
This is the worst doctors office I have ever had experience with.

Worst place I had ever been!!! DO NOT GO!!! First of all is pointless to be on time for your appointment because you will have to wait an HOUR to be call in! Second, every pregnant women has leave a urine sample right! well this place is so Eek! when I went to drop off my urine sample on the box there were 20 more urine from different patients. How disgusting is that! not even Plan Parenthood has this kind of service.
Thrid, DR. MICHELLE GUITERREZ, worst OB/​GYN doctor! She is so naïve and does not know anything. I had to have done my blood test for down syndrome in my pregnancy before 13 weeks! I was there with 16 weeks and she was asking for the blood test to be done. What kind of doctor does that!!! She referred to another doctor to have the ultrasound done for this procedure and she don”t even check prior to my appointment if the blood test was done where she sent me.
She did not wanted to do an ultrasound at 16 weeks to at least see what I’m having. She has the never to tell me that I have to wait 18 – 20 weeks to do that and that it is a special «ultrasound» This my second baby!!! I know that you can know from 14 – 20 weks what are you having and it does not required a special ultrasound to do that. A regular ultrasound shows legs, arms, face and gender.
WORST DOCTOR AND DISGUSTING PLACE. DO NOT GO!!!

Dr. Blake got the job done. I’m healthy, my baby is perfect and everything «down there» is great again. Yes, I went there.
Visits are quick but he will take the time to answer all of your questions and go over anything with you. I read reviews on other sites that his bedside manner is a little off. I don’t know how to describe it. But it did take me a few times to warm up to him and for us to be able to «joke» around about things. By the end of the experience, it was a good time.
I had shown concerns for having certain things done and not wanting to do them and he let me make the choices.
I did feel a little «Rushed» with labor though.
Office staff is pretty good. Love his nurse!
Overall, good experience.
