Jon did a fantastic and thorough job in assisting me with my home buying experience! He was willing to show me places, always asked what I liked or didn’t like about a place and gave very helpful suggestions. He always responded in a timely manner and never left me hanging. We recently worked with Jon to purchase our first home! We had been keeping an eye on the housing market in San Diego for about two years and have worked with a couple real estate agents. We are so thankful we ended up finding Jon, who was dramatically different to work with and felt like a true ally throughout the process. As first home buyers we had a lot to learn about the process and our options. Jon always took the time to thoroughly explain every situation to us to make sure we were properly informed as we made every decision. He was consistently available for all of our questions, and we got immediate responses to every phone call, e-​mail, and text. Unlike with other agents, we never felt any pressure. Jon proactively offered to help us schedule inspections so we could close as quickly as possible. He met us at the house multiple times in one weekend so that we could walk through with our families. Overall, he offered exceptional customer service and values ethics and honesty in his profession. On top of it all, Jon was such a great person to interact with, and we really enjoyed getting the opportunity to work with him. We look forward to recommending him to friends and family. Working with Jon was an all around 5 star experience for so many reasons. He is a realtor that will listen to your needs and then work exhaustively to find you your home! My wife and I met him at an open house in North Park and he invited us to his boot camp where I learned a ton about all the little nuances of lending and buying a home for the first time. Even though we met Jon in North Park, an area he knows a lot about, he helped us find a place in Point Loma where we wanted to be which really showed his adaptability and willingness to research and do a lot of legwork. Jon was very thourough and proffessional in all the work that he did for us from finding us possible listings that matched our needs and budget all the way down to giving us stellar recommendations for electricians and home inspections. I would highly reccommend Jon to any of my friends and would work with him again in a heartbeat.

The first word that comes to mind when I think of Jon Tolhoek is «genuine.» This is without a doubt his best quality, and it’s what makes him a great real estate agent. Within the first few minutes of encountering Jon, you can feel his sincerity. You know that you can trust him. If I were a home buyer, this would be the first quality that I would look for. I would want to know that an agent is looking out for my best interest, and not just trying to make a buck off of me.
Jon’s buyers are well represented. He is detailed, and by his very nature, he always makes them feel like they are his most important client. Jon always has time to answer questions. I know this because I financed the loan for one of his buyers, and I heard them rave up and down about him. If I were a home buyer or seller, I know that I would be in good hands with Jon.

Jon is an excellent realtor! He listened to what I said I wanted, pay attention to the parameters and limits I had set up, and made sure I was comfortable stepping outside of those self made parameters when I decided to persue a property I had originally decided against. I am now in that property (going on 9 months) and have absolutely no regrets! I recommend Jon to ANYONE who is looking to buy (or sell)!! For a first time home buyer, this whole process can be overwhelming, both intellectually and emotionally. What makes Jon so special is that he never loses sight of that. He was always right there to explain the process clearly, help me understand my options and the whys of each decision. He listened closely to me and was great at drawing out what I was looking for in a home, even when I wasn’t sure myself. He talked me through the anxiety of the whole search and purchase without any pressure and was unfailingly patient when I got cold feet (which happened more than once). Jon’s motto is «Your home. Discovered.», and it fits. I came away feeling that his goal was not to make the sale, but to truly help me discover just the right home.
