A Notary Public is also available from 9 to 5 weekdays.

History

Established in 1987.

Certified Public Accountants Rulon Jenson and Tom Abbas formed Abbas, Jenson & Cundari in September 1987. A third partner, Chris Cundari joined the accounting firm in January 1993. As the practice expanded, the office was moved into the Uptown District in Hillcrest where it continued to grow for the next 10 years. In the fall of 2003, the practice was moved into our current Bankers Hill location on 5th Avenue. In 2014 Jeremy Dutson became the fourth partner to join the firm. Jeremy began working as an intern with the firm in 2007.

Jeremy is the best! He is so nice and easy to talk to, gives you pointers, and is always patient even when informing someone as ill-​advised as I am on taxes and tax laws (I know I ask the same questions a million times and Jeremy is so nice about it!). It is conveniently located in Bankers Hill and parking is usually not a problem.
The office staff is SO pleasant and nice (they follow-​up, return calls, etc.). You can hear their politeness and sincerity through the phone.

We move our personal tax preparation to Chris Cundari for the first time in 2013. We did this because as our financial situation became more complex, our communication with our last guy just wasn’t keeping up. As a Business owner, I wanted more help in understanding my options and strategies.
In our first meeting Chris absolutely met the challenge. Within that first hour we learned a ton, and most importantly experienced huge relief. I’m confident that he knows the rules and is guiding us with our best interests in mind. He’s pretty cool too!

Chris Cundari has been my CPA for the past 13 years. I was originally referred to him by my financial adviser. Chris has been nothing, but the very best. He is extremely knowledgeable and has always taken care of my taxes flawlessly. His customer service is impeccable. This year, my husband and I received a notice from the IRS claiming that we owed money on our taxes. We gave the paperwork to Chris; he took care of everything and we received a letter back from the IRS stating that we owed $ 0.00. If that isn’t quick and efficient service, I don’t know what is.
Chris provides a quality service that I can count on and feel comfortable referring friends and family to. When my daughter started working, I requested that Chris do her taxes so that she could build a professional relationship with him. Now, she works overseas and he still does her international overseas income tax return.
Chris’ services are a service that I will continue to look forward to year after year.

Rulon Jenson is a kind, conscientious man who happens to be a great CPA. I can’t imagine trusting anyone else with our accounting needs and questions.

Hands down Jeremy is the best CPA I’ve ever worked with. He has handled my many corporations as well as my entire family’s taxes. He goes above and beyond without me ever having to ask. Jeremy is awesome! He is highly knowledgeable on the specifics of income splitting for both same sex married couples in California and domestic partners, which on Turbo Tax was a nightmare. He also is very understanding… I first came in with a Christmas gift bag of papers and receipts… this year I was better organized… a little bit. He is friendly, personable, and detailed. Jeremy makes doing taxes much more palatable… still, not my favorite activity in life, but… he does all the work, if knowledgeable, professional… and the office staff is helpful with reminders, appointments, and making the short waiting time very pleasant. :-)

Back in the day, I did my own taxes and accounting. As I have matured, my needs changed and so did the laws. Fast forward to today, 2012 and I have three kids and assets to protect.

Jeremy was great! Called during tax season and was scheduled for an appointment within 3 days. Pretty standard filing, with a sale of property, and itemized deductions. Most importantly he correctly calculated the basis in my property, which my previous tax guy couldn’t do, and likely prevented an audit. Everything was completed in just over an hour. Very professional, knowledgable, and reasonably priced for a CPA. He was half the cost of my previous tax guy. Nice location, free parking available.

My family and I started bringing our taxes here due to a family referral and we have never looked back. The service and accuracy is always spot on and reliable. Come Tax time I did not want to be messing with one of the «chain» shops that pretty much strike me as the pizza hut of tax preparation. We go to Rulon Jenson and have never had a reason to go other where. He know his stuff and always has an answer for us even if it is a question that we think is off the wall. There are things I can live with making a questionable choice on (Taco Shops?)…But Taxes is not something I want to guess on. Go to Rulon and get it done right!
