AAA Japanese Car Specialists

This place is a complete scam. A bunch of Frauds!!! Charged me more than double for labor for water pump replacement. They need a serious consumer complaint!
They charged me $ 500 for 2 hrs of labor for a water-​pump replacement which I found was only $ 200 worth of labor at another place in the same area. Serious Thugs!!!
Even went to the extent of doing a lot of drama that they need 2 days to do it and they have family blah blah!!!
NEVER EVEN CONSIDER GOING TO THIS PLACE.

Found this place while driving by. Called and spoke to Thi, I told him my issues and he told me to bring my car in at no charge. I’m glad I did, his mechanics were very thorough with my car. Told me what was wrong and let me order and bring my own parts to them to replace. Saved a ton of money. Will definitely bring my car back when I need a tuneup!

Seriously the best auto repair/​maintenance place I’ve ever been to. Steve and his staff have always been extremely professional, honest, and speedy! I could not ask for more in such great service, and at great pricing. Fantastic auto repair!

It’s April 1, 2016, and I just now picked up my car after coming to AAA for more work, having been pleased with my battery replacement experience back in December. I continue to be a very happy customer! When I came in to ask Steve about an appointment, he remembered me from the battery replacement day, which was heart-​warming. He said he could start the work that day and finish it up the next day. I got a lot of work done for a very reasonable price… about $ 1500 for front and rear struts, a new radiator, front brakes, a differential leak fix, and checking my oil and why my «D» (Drive) gear shift light doesn’t go on. My car sounds and feels practically like new again! It’s a 1998 Toyota Camry, and I feel like it’s been given another life, like a cat! A slight rattling noise exists that has been there for years, which I hear more easily now that the noisy suspension has been fixed, so I’ll be asking Steve and his team to take a listen when I’m ready to do my next round of repairs. I’m trying not to rave too much, for fear that my review will be relegated to the «this can’t be a real review» section of the Unilocal reviews. But this review is completely legit, thankfully. Thanks, Steve and team.

These guys are honest and reliable — really open and want to show you what’s going on. Quick service too. Will be returning!

Steve has been taking car of my cars for over 2 years now. He is incredible to work with. They tell you if anything is wrong and whether it is something to fix right away, or something you just need to keep an eye on. What I love is that they will as you to come and look at the problem, they don’t just tell you a part is going bad, they want you to see so that you know they aren’t pulling one over on you. They should change their business name to AAA+++, anyone who says otherwise probably has never had to deal with a truly horrible mechanic before.

I take my 2001 Integra here and have been going here since 2003. I’m sure, as long as I buy Japanese, I’ll be taking my next vehicle here too.

I’ve been going here for years. It’s family owned and super friendly. My Honda Accord gets the best oil change here which is super cheep and fast and they always do a great job. I’ve gotten things fixed here before and they always do me right.

A quick oil change for my 2002 Corolla and no up-​selling here, folks! I literally drove in, sat down to play games on my phone as I waited, and before I could even finish a round, they told me my car was done! Thi walked me over to my car and told me the guts of the car was in great shape, and walked me through what they looked at. I never thought I’d ever leave a car place in great spirits, wanting to shout how much I loved them at the top of my lungs, but here I stand, shouting my love! Go here and tell all your friends!

Been going to these guys for ever. Very honest and always looking out for you. They even check the engine of the car that I was going to buy for fee.

I came here at the recommendation of a friend. I was greeted by Steve as soon as I pulled into the lot. He was very friendly. I came in for an oil change. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. The price is cheaper than most places and I feel like they did a good job. I didn’t feel like they were trying to nickel and dime me for everything. My car is 6 months old and so nothing needs to be fixed and they didn’t try to add anything on to the oil change. They encouraged me to go back where my car was to see that everything still looks good and new and to watch them do the oil change. Definitely not trying to hide anything and that gave me a peace of mind having them invite me back to show me everything. I know at other places when I don’t actually see them perform the service on my car I sometimes question whether they have actually done anything or not. Will definitely be back here for all my future car needs!

Ok… had to do an update because this was a situation you only hear about on consumer report tv shows — but it happened to me:
My girlfriend was charged over $ 50 for an air conditioning diagnostic by another mechanic. Worse yet, they told her it would cost over $ 1200 to repair and she’s not even sure her 14 year old vehicle was even worth that amount.
After the amazing service and prices I’ve experienced at AAA Japanese Car Specialists, I had to get her a second opinion from them. I drove in, explained the situation, and they immediately got on the (FREE!) diagnostic. Most places wouldn’t even bother to look at it for several hours. After waiting for only 10 minutes they informed me that the air conditioner only required about a $ 50 service (including adding Freon) which they promptly did within the next 15 minutes!!! Drove away with ice-​cold air blasting again! $ 50 vs $ 1200?! Are you kidding?
They told me (and more importantly showed me) that they never do a repair someone doesn’t need. How can anyone afford not to take their car to these guys?! I’m never going anywhere else again!

They tried to pull a bait n switch. And wanted to charge me double the advertised price.

Called asked for a quote. Gave me a number then they claimed it didn’t include labor when I specifically asked for a total amount. They then claimed to work on my breaks they had to work on some unrelated item and they won’t work on breaks unless I let them repair that item. Very dishonest place don’t go there they bait and switch and recommend unnecessary work.

Best place ever. EVER. I am never going to any other mechanic as long as I have a Japanese car. They are the most honest and reliable mechanics I have ever encountered. First of all, I was going to go down the street to another mechanic that told me it would cost me $ 300 to get my brakes fixed. I was appalled when they refused to tell me what the measurements were and how much they needed to file the brakes. So I went to AAA Japanese Car Specialists and they said that if I bought the break pads which I got at O’Riley’s), they would just install them for me for the cost of labor. New brake pads and installation cost me around $ 120 (give or take a few bucks; I don’t remember because this was done a while ago)!
These guys are amazing. They are extremely honest and super fast. I was being an idiot and decided to go to a more convenient mechanic (located right across the street to where I live) to get my belt replaced and all of a sudden my car started making weird noises. I went back to ask them, «hey, what’s up? why is my car making noises?» They told me that it was my alternator and that they weren’t able to fix the noise. So I went back to AAA because they are my usual mechanic and AAA told me that my belt was too loose so AAA fixed the problem for me at no charge (because I normally go to them)! They fixed another mechanic’s mistake for me and that was the moment that they became my «family mechanic». My boyfriend is also going to take his car to them from now on. They are absolutely the best and most reliable guys out there! It is the same 3 guys who work there so they knows the in’s and out’s of your car if you go to them regularly! Also, oil changes are $ 15. You can’t beat that price!
I am a super huge big fan of this place! Most mechanics take advantage of women because they think women do not know anything about cars (and I don’t). Not, AAA! They always give me a good deal (I verify it with my family members and boyfriend) and I never feel like they are trying to take my money. They are just a bunch of guys who do honest work.

Took my truck here for a simple diagnostics test. Ending up having to but a new battery. No big deal. The part that made me furious is that they left my car a mess. They left my own personal tools on the seat which were previously in the trunk. They knocked over a stack of business cards and left them on the floor mat. Lastly they took apart a piece underneath my steering wheel and did not put it back together entirely leaving me to do it, it’s not a huge inconvenience but it’s principle. If I am going to bring my business to you have the decency to take pride in your work and do the little things right.

Love this place! Will keep coming back:) the staff was super friendly and they didn’t try to nickel and dime me. Brought my Honda civic here, they will work on any car though.

I have been taking my car for maintenance and repairs to A&A Japanese Car Specialist for about 20 years. They are very reasonably priced, but most importantly, tell you the truth about repairs. Their service is very quick too!
I trust them with my cars and when they point out an issue, they tell me approximately how much time I have left before it needs to be addressed, the cost to repair, and how dangerous it is.
Thi, the owner, and his crew are very straightforward, honest and hardworking. If you need to have your car fixed or checked out, take it to A&A Japanese Car Specialists.
By the way, they work on other cars too — foreign or domestic!
