A Point of Health

I started seeing Emily over 2 years ago for multiple reasons. She not only helped me physically but mentally as well. She has a great way of figuring out what the real underlying issue is. She has great herbs and vitamins to get anyones body back on track! Her place of business is always clean and I never have to wait. I recommend her to all of my family and friends! Thanks Emily!

It took me a while to write this review but I saw Emily for approximately a year in 2014. I have absolutely no doubt that Emily genuinely cares about her patients and has a real vested interest in helping people. Working in the mental health field, I really appreciate her general attitude and motivations. I saw Emily for fertility issues, and while I can’t say that the herbs and/​or acupuncture assisted me in getting pregnant (I never did naturally), I can’t say it didn’t help either. I completed my first and only round of IVF while seeing Emily and did achieve pregnancy on my first transfer. I can’t know for sure whether acupuncture assisted me in my process, but I can say, that if nothing else, I really always appreciated the support Emily provided. There were certainly stressful periods during the process that I really appreciated having Emily to discuss my concerns/​questions etc. as she certainly has a wealth of information in this area as well as nutrition, exercise, etc. In general, I just really liked Emily as a person as well! I’ve referred a couple of patients to her since and will continue to do so as I believe she is a great resource particularly for those seeking assistance in the fertility treatment area.

Emily is truly amazing she is the best Accupuncutreist around! Truly a body healer. I came to her a few years ago with a list and she pretty much started at the top and sat and talked to me and listened to all the things bothering me and hurting in my body, sure enough after a couple visits I started to feel better and then it was her mission to fix the big stuff! With a regular Accupuncutre and some herbs I got my system back on track. Couldn’t be happier with my experiences with her. Clean office, friendly and knows what she’s doing! Thank you Emily!

I have been seeing Emily for over a year and she has helped me tremendously both physically and mentally. I struggled with infertility when I first came in to see her. She patiently guided me through IVF with her wealth of knowledge. I’m pregnant with my first child and I truly believe that acupuncture with Emily has been an important factor in my healthy pregnancy.

I was recommended to Emily by a friend and I’ve been seeing her for the past few months and Ive been feeling great! I’m definitely a work in progress, but she is extremely knowledgeable and helpful guiding me to my best health. I struggle with migraines and she has helped me pinpoint some triggers from food sensitives to trying to control my stress levels. This is by far the best acupuncturist ever. Smart helpful direct and really cares about your health. The office is right on del mar super clean I talk to Emily directly each time I call.
Biggest benefit is they Emily is also a CCN no other acupuncturist has both eastern and western in depth knowledge of health. The perfect combination of help for overall health. Please don’t wait like I did be proactive and get a treatment plan set up! Works miracles!!!

I have been seeing Emily for over 2 years now. I came to her at the recommendation of my doctor from Kaiser. I was having back pain and Kaiser had run every test in the book and still couldn’t figure it out. I had never been to an acupuncturist so I wasn’t sure what to expect. After just a couple of months of treatment I started feeling wonderful again. My back stopped hurting and I began to feel like myself again. She has done an amazing job in helping me get my health in order. She is kind and patient and very knowledgeable in her medicine. I look forward to my treatment day as I know I will feel better than ever. Not only has she helped me in so many ways, she has helped other family members as well. She has helped with a variety of health concerns such as infertility (yes… I now have a beautiful healthy granddaughter), nutrition, insomnia, chronic pain, digestion, anxiety, and glutten intolerance to name a few. I have referred many friends to her and they are all amazed at her ability to improve the quality of life. I highly recommend her to everyone!!! :)

Emily is wonderful! I went to her after having a miscarriage, and 2 months later I became pregnant. She did a wonderful diagnostic of what was unhealthy in my life, nutrition wise. I felt more energy, and very healthy. I feel, because of her, my body was at its best, and ready to conceive. Emily is always there helping ease my mind through the constant worries that come with pregnancy. I am able to text her, and she was always there with a response. She is a mom too, and has done so much research. It eased my mind, and I was able to put my worries aside. Emily had great advice on the best prenatals, what your body needs at certain weeks of pregnancy, she is a wealth of knowledge. She is a blessing, and this place is amazing! What happened to all the reviews that were here when I found this place two years ago? Anyway, I started seeing Emily when I’d been trying for about 7 months to get pregnant. She was very knowledgable about hormones and pointed out possible concerns on my bloodwork, which encouraged me to find a reproductive endocrinologist as well. I used several different supplements and herbs I bought from her in addition to receiving acupuncture treatments, and I did see some improvements but did not get pregnant. I saw Matt while Emily was on maternity leave, and when Emily came back, she seemed different and almost irritable or rushed. She did have newborn twins at home, so I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. However, she suggested at my last appointment with her that I do IVF (at which point we’d been trying for less than a year and had not done even the most simple fertility treatments yet) and said that if I didn’t get pregnant in the next month or two, I probably wouldn’t without treatment. (Statistically, the chances are much lower per month of getting pregnant on your own after a year of trying, but this just isn’t what I’d expect to hear from someone practicing eastern medicine.) This really surprised and disappointed me, because it sounded like she had given up on me. I decided to stop going since I didn’t feel very hopeful at that point that it would help as far as getting pregnant. I looked into another local acupuncturist that works with fertility patients, but that one won’t treat you if you don’t agree to give her 6 months without any fertility treatment. Where’s the happy medium?

Emily Valenzuela is amazing! She is super personable, easy to talk to, and listens to you in order to truly address your needs. She is thorough during your evaluation (the muscle testing is awesome), reasonably priced, and helps hold you accountable for your health. She has helped me tremendously over the past year with diet, nutrition, and pain due to exercise injuries. I look forward to my acupuncture sessions. I highly recommend her!
