History

Established in 2009.

I started with Roto Rooter and became a Supervisor Trainer and stayed with them for 20 years. In that time I have seen a lot and done a lot. Since I have a mechanical background, plumbing came easy to me. Problem solving and satisfying customers are high priorities of mine. I had many repeat customers which kept me busy.

I have hydroflushed drain lines with large trucks, repiped condos and houses, and installed all kinds of water heaters from 40 gallon to large boilers. I have learned how to repair them as well.

Then I got my license and started RDS Plumbing and Sewer.

I am upfront and I’m not going to sell you things you don’t need. I value a good reputation. My customers mean a lot to me. I’m not scared to give a big warrantee or install quality parts — some with a 5 year guarantee, some with lifetime guarantee. I know I try to do the best that I can. Some jobs are difficult and some are quick. Every job is different. I stock my truck and personally answer my phone. I will do the best I can to make you happy. I believe I’m cheaper than most of my competitors. I want to take the big scare out of calling a plumber. I’m not commissioned like other big companies. Mo and his partner came out on a rainy Saturday and did a thorough job snaking my main line. I am happy with their work, and appreciated their honesty and work ethic. We will call them again when there is more work to be done.

Ramon and his assistant came out to replace my water heater. He was prompt and seemed knowledgeable. He quoted $ 2225, but gave a $ 125 discount because I was a repeat customer. He said a new heater would run $ 800. I couldn’t call around to get a better estimate; the water heater was leaking and I was afraid of a rupture. The job was completed in three hours. No complaints about timeliness or the quality of work. It just seems that $ 1300 for labor is a bit high, hence only two stars; breaks down to $ 216/​hr. I have used RDS before and was happy with their work. But I am not sure I will use them again. I don’t know, am I wrong about the labor cost?

RDS was great. First of all, they answered the phone. Secondly, when all other places said they couldn’t see me until Thursday even though my situation was urgent, these guys made time for me the same day. They were on time and even though my problem (a desperately clogged drain in my only bathroom) was made more challenging by the age of the plumbing, they found the most cost effective solution and were up front about my options and any future potential issues. The guy who helped me (Moe) explained things thoroughly and was sympathetic to my situation (old pipes that I can’t currently afford to replace). When I am ready to replace them, hopefully soon, I will be calling RDS.

I had Mo unclog the kitchen sink drain. Mo did a thorough job, and even washed the basement at the end (the sewage from the pipe had to be released there). He also helped me to figure out whether the dishwasher leaks, although this was, strictly speaking, an unrelated problem. Great job.

Called RDS at 830 AM about a leak in my tub. By 930, the plumber was at my house and by 1045 it was fixed! Great fast work, very friendly, good pricing. Will use them again to run a gas line to my fireplace!

RDS Plumbing and Sewer cleared our clogged sewer line in early November. The team that did the work was on time, efficient and pleasant to work with. They gave us a 90 day written guarantee. Today, our sewer line began backing up again, within the warranty period. I called and they came out the same day within their time estimate and cleared the line. Again, efficient and pleasant. The cause of the backup may have been due to our water conservation efforts and some contractors that have been working on our house.
I will recommend this company to family and friends.

Called at 8:00am and spoke to Francisco and made two hours appointment. Show up on time. Got right to work. Cleared out the plug drain in no time. Very nice and neat. Will definitely use him again.

I’ve been waiting for them to show up for 2 days now. Called for a toilet repair. They never showed up on the day they said they would. They Called me 3 hours after the time they said they would be here. They then told me they would be here the next day between 10 and 11 and still nothing. Used this service before and was very pleased but this time I am not happy at all.

Great customer service and very responsive to customer’s needs or concerns.
I was very unhappy a day earlier. I have called for a kitchen clogging issue, but I didn’t get any response back despite of multiple call attempts. I expressed my frustration on the Unilocal.The owner immediately called me back the next day and apologized for the mistake. He also sent his team to fix my other clogging issue for free. That is what I called customer service!
I have used their service in the past and is happy with their work! Moe and his crew does a great job!

hi fellow Unilocalers! I don’t write many reviews but rds is very good. they were punctual, upfront on all costs, wore booties before coming in, and willing to teach me everything as he inspected and fixed the issues. I had a drain pipe leak and a clogged pipe. the leak fix was simple for him but the clog was a monster. he brought out the heavy machinery to unclog it. left everything clean as u can expect. I forgot the guys name but he was very professional and knew exactly what he was doing.

Great service, I worked with Mo who came out 10 – 20 minutes after I called very quick response time and he was very helpful. He gave me a reasonable quote for the job which was two clogged toilets and showers on the 2nd story of my home. He climbed on the roof and was able to fix the leak without even pulling up any toilets or messing with any drains. I would definitely recommend this business and Mo specifically for anyone who has plumbing issues they were great and was one of the only services in town (I called 10) that had immediate availability.

Had Moe and his partner come by to install a toilet and shower handles in an old house. Awesome job! I wish he caulked the spout after he was finished, but that’s another item on the Honey do list.

We called RDS at 730pm for clogged pipes. A dispatcher immediately answered and said a technician is in the area. 10 minutes later we received a call to confirm a technician was en route and would be there in 30 minutes. Francisco and Orlando arrived 20 minutes later. They put on shoes cover as our house is carpeted. They had to go into the crawl space and dug up large roots that caused the clog. Everything done and cleaned up within an hour. They stuck to their quote as well. Very impressive. Prompt and professional. We highly recommend.

GUESS THEY DONT NEED MY BUSINESS. I GIVE UP AFTER THEY MISSED 2 APPTS.
This is the 2nd weekend they were supposed to come to my place in San Mateo to replace a garbage disposal and it did not happen. Last Saturday they were to arrive between 12 – 3 pm and I got a call saying the repair guy for this area was out and would I mind rescheduling. I was accommodating and said «sure, next Saturday would be fine.»
I called on Thursday just to confirm and got an employee who I could not understand due to his heavy accent and he ended up HANGING up on me and then later called me back. I am a minority myself and 95% of the time I can understand almost anyone from anywhere but I struggled to understand him. I did understand him telling me that I would be the first call and someone would be out today between 8−9am, it is now 3pm and no one has arrived.
Also, he was trying to convince me I need a garbage disposal that cost $ 250 – 275 (not sure if that included labor) even though I told him that I did not use my disposal much. I figured I would discuss it further with the service guy and do some research online. Of course, now I realize I only really need ½ horsepower disposal that seem to run under $ 100.
I called RD’s after all the great Unilocal reviews, so I am very disappointed. Hope the owner reads this an improves his customer service. This is no way to run a business. Should not be hard to figure out who I am if you look at your appointments for today.

Excellent service, great company!
Called to get a quote on a clogged toilet, their price was very reasonable compared to a competitor, around $ 100 less, so I set up an appt for the next day. Francisco called me right before the start of my appt window to let me know he was on his way.
He quickly fixed the clog and was very polite and curteous. He even took the time to answer questions I had regarding a different plumbing issue and was very knowledgeable. Great customer service all around and I will be using them in the future for any plumbing needs. Thanks for the great customer service!
