My Gym

We had our daughter’s second birthday here, with kids ranging from 12 months to 8 years. The women who ran the party (2 of them vs. 23 children!) were awesome: energetic, friendly, and totally on top of things. On top of all that, they went out of their way to help us set up (food, juice, etc., that we brought) and tear down. They took care of all the cleaning. I can’t saw enough about how terrific this experience was!
The one downside has been the response time on calls. We typically get a call back from them the same day, but we’ve seen lags of 3 days, which is agonizingly slow. Seeing what the employees have on their hands, it’d be great if the management found another way to deal with calls – perhaps not using the same employees who are working with the kids.

We had such an awesome 2^nd yr birthday party. Benjamin had so much fun and was treated like a king! We loved every bit of it: zip line, train ride, and a conductor on a saucer. it was so cute and we were able to capture the moments on video. Thanks so much Jasmine and (second teacher). Your energy and attention helped make his party a blast.

We have had such a wonderful experience at My Gym. The teachers (even ones he doesn’t see regularly) know my son’s name, everyone is positive and encouraging, the space is clean, and the classes are fun and dynamic. My son has thrived in this environment and I am seeing him take more risks every day.

Worst experience! I had my little one enrolled here for just 3 months. The staff were not cooperating in getting her fully engaged in the class. They would just ask me to interfere. Not the way to treat a 2 year old. They have more free play time than any structure and theme. They keep making the same cake pizza week after week.
When I wanted to quit they didn’t even ask me why I wanted to quit. They seemed very happy that one kid has left. Very unkind.

My almost 2 year old daughter has been a member for about a year. She loves MyGym! The teachers are fun and energetic. The classes are well organized and activities are age appropriate. I love that members can schedule classes, makeup classes, and birthdays online. We had our daughter’s one year Bday party here, and the teachers facilitated a very fun and memorable party! The only downside — I wish this gym had more free play times in the evenings or weekends.

Tried couple gyms from other places, this one is good. teachers are friendly and my little girl love it!

We love, love, love My Gym! We used to be members of Gymboree in San Mateo and while we loved Teacher Rose, the classes got to be a bit boring and not challenging enough for my daughter who is now 29 months old. I have a friend who recommended My Gym and I went to check it out as a possible venue for my daughter’s 2^nd birthday party, even though we weren’t members yet. Out of all of the places I looked at, I thought this looked like the best venue and you got the most value for your money. Turns out I was right. We had the BEST birthday party there and the staff was great. They kept all of the kiddos entertained and the best part was when they brought my daughter out on a saucer sled and she was decked out in a pink feather boa and birthday crown and she was just loving it. After that birthday party I signed her up for classes right away.
She loves to go to My Gym and loves Teachers Lil, Bailey and Dana. The staff is awesome and they interact so well with the kids. The activities are different every week and the equipment is very fun. It is perfect for my daughter who is really athletic, flexible and has great coordination – all skills that she couldn’t really utilize on the equipment at Gymboree. At My Gym they have a trampoline, ball pit, parallel bars, balance beam, zip line, swings and a bunch of other things that bring out each week.
The price is a bit high ($ 81 per month) and I suppose it would be worth it if you used the unlimited free play during the week, but we can’t. The free play is weekdays during the middle of the day so if you are a working parent, then you can’t go so you are basically paying $ 81 per month for four classes. The only thing I wish they would change is to have at least one open play class in the evening like 5−7pm. Other than that, this place is great and I highly recommend it for the classes and for birthday parties.

My daughter is 22 months and really enjoys her class, especially the zip line, roller coaster & saucer rides! During the winter olympics they set up «bobsled rides» and «moguls» on the gym floor. She loves the singing, stretching exercises and dancing, and is always excited to volunteer and demonstrate the new skill they learn at each class such as doing a flip or swinging on the free rings:) All of the staff members are extremely friendly with a ton of energy! Nothing but a great experience for my daughter at each class. Highly recommended!

I can only comment on the birthday parties, see other reviews for the regular classes.
Birthday parties. A term that sounded so innocent and fun when you were a child all of a sudden draws a primeval response similar to the term ‘root canal’ when you have your own kids. My Gym can help soothe that pain by making a fun experience for your kids while they get good and exhausted playing.
The staff is what makes this place work. They have a variety of gym equipment and it’s a blast to watch your kids climb all over the various poles, foam pits, and mini-​zip lines. The staff is usually two athletic employees who are great with the kids and do a lot to get them involved. They also make your child the center of attention for quite a bit of the time (tell me that’s not fun), and the play exercises are well planned.
It’s not an especially large place, and they don’t really have a separate room for the cake and pizza, but there’s more than enough room for everyone to sit and eat.
One really cool thing, as usual I ordered about two pizzas too many, and we really didn’t want to take them home. The staff member works in the City, and she said that she lives very close to a homeless shelter and she’d be glad to bring the extra food there. That kind of kindness showed in the way she ran the place (this has been a while ago, so she may be gone now, but it still made an impression).

I had my son’s 3^rd Birthday party at My Gym and it was a great success. The venue is perfect for that age group and it’s nice that you have the whole place to yourself. Our assigned My Gym staff, Dayna and Bailey, were great– friendly, helpful, and great with the kids. In my job, I oversee recreation programming so I have a lot of experience working with young staff and these girls would be the type of staff I would hire myself.
Five stars for the venue and the staff.
I had to give it 4 stars since the pizza you have to order through My Gym’s contact was so late with the food, we didn’t get it until we were leaving the party. Luckily, we brought in extra food or our guests would have been hungry.

I’ve been going to this MyGym with my son for several months now, and I am a fan. Yes, this kiddy gym is more expensive than my own gym, but it comes with friendly teachers who are great with kids and an environment that is consistently set up to provide both adventure and safety. The teachers are great at encouraging the kids to participate at whatever level they’re ready, and also at making the parents comfortable about their kids refusal to do so (since hey — they’re toddlers!). The owner is particularly great, and the classes are extra-​good when he’s the teacher but I haven’t run into a «bad» teacher there yet. Membership gets you access to any MyGym’s free play time, which is great for us because we also visit the Palo Alto one sometimes.

I’ve only been here once so far for a free trial, and the place itself looks awesome. There are so many apparatuses and things for the kids to do. I could tell that my daughter was dying to play before she could get her shoes and socks off. We had teacher Dana and she was sooo great with the kids!
I love that there’s time for the kids to play on whatever they want, and then they come back for a song, or for gymnastic type of fun, and then go play again. THEY EVEN HAVE A ZIP LINE!
My daughter loves this place and the people are great. Kids go bare feet, and parents have to wear socks. This would be great for parties.
Membership is kind of pricey, but you can go to as many classes that you want within your child’s age, and there are free play days on tues and thurs. My daughter is almost 3 and it’s not as kiddie as gymboree, and she learns to socially interact as well as build her developmental skills

awesome one year old birthday party. We found this place while searching for a birthday party venue for our one year old. Their activities filled the entire time of the party and Gymboree only does 30 minutes activities. They can also accommodate for up to 30 kids whereas most places can only have max of 20 kids. There are also two sections for food, adult food vs. kids food. You can bring in alcohol if you want. Round table and baskin robbins are next door, so you can order stuff next door, which is very convenient. The activity leader are really great at leading as well as helping with the set up, cutting the cake and packing up the food. We as parents really got to enjoy the party as well.
the only thing I wish they can do better is that it’s kind of hard to get a hold of them on the phone, since they are always holding parties and answer the phone during the time b/​t the parties, but I don’t know what is that time frame that’s good to call. Maybe they should state the time in their VM. We ended up just driving by to talk to them the old fashion way.

Way, way better than Gymboree. Got referred to My Gym by our neighbor, otherwise we wouldn’t have known about it. Lots of fun for our little one, and the staff are really friendly and love kids.

I can’t believe my 1 year old’s gym membership is more expensive than mine. It’s 81/​month and that gives you classes and some free play time. With both parents working M-​F, the weekday classes are pretty much shot for us and that leaves us going to the 8AM Saturday class for our kid. Class itself is well structured. There’s time to introduce the parents/​kids then free play followed by some specific play sets and then self play where kids interact with each other and the teachers and the parents «hide» from the kids. All of the stuff is optional so if your child is too young and wants to just play by himself, that’s also fine.
I find the teachers to be caring and understanding and there’s MyGym locations nationally so your membership can get you access everywhere. Outside of the monthly cost, I think it’s great.

My 20 month old had a trial class here. They have 2 classes on Saturdays and the only one that is open is at 8:30am. This is a bit early, which is the only reason we did not sign up for classes. The trial class was great! There was lots of free play time, which was good for my son because he is not too into the structured circle time activities. He enjoyed the basketball hoop, ball pit, climbing the structures, the pull up bar and the balance beam. He also liked going through the barrels and tunnels. Overall, he had a blast! If only it was not so far away and the class was so early! I did get on the waiting list for the later class but that one has a long waiting list.

My Gym is great. We’ve been coming here for about a few months and we recently had our daughter’s birthday party here and Nick was amazing. He made sure everything was in order and did a great job in making my daughter feel special. 90 minutes was the perfect amount of time for the party. Nick called me earlier in the week to see if I had a preference on the set up and I said no. He took care of it after that.
The birthday parties at My Gym is great as you get the following:
— 90 minutes of fun
— 6 balloons
— free clean up (yay)
— 40% off mountain mikes pizza (ask mountain mikes to cut the pizza’s in smaller slices (which they forgot) and bring plates)
— supply cake plates, napkins
I’ve researched Gymboree and other places and My Gym seems more relaxed as Gymboree cost $ 375 for 2 hours and children that are 5 years and older are welcome to participate in the activities but are not permitted on any of the equipment (which is terrible!)
Free Plays are fun but there are different age groups so if you have a little one, stay close by. It’s also great to meet other parents.
My daughter loves My Gym and is always ready for a nap shortly afterwards! :)

During the wintertime when it’s too cold for me to take my son to the park (though he never seems to mind the breeze or the rain), My Gym comes to rescue. This is where my kid can tire himself out in a safe, controlled environment so he can eat and sleep better for the rest of the day. Now, that’s priceless.
While I’m also a big fan of Little Gym, My Gim seems less structured than Little Gym, allowing kids to more freely roam about and experiment on their own. They have various classes and offer «open gym» times for all ages.
The room is bright, clean, and a complete adventure for the kids. The staff is great — always willing to accommodate.
SUM: Our son loves it here, and if he’s happy, I’m happy.

We take our toddler to My Gym (San Carlos). She loves it. And it appears to be a key reason for her budding athleticism, e.g., climbing ladders & obstacles, walking balance beams, hanging on bars, running everywhere, and jumping on trampolines.
This My Gym in particular excels in all three key areas:
— Administration (Avi)
— Teachers (we usually get ‘Nessa and Stephanie)
— Parents & kids
This point was reinforced today after I went to another My Gym, while in NY for Thanksgiving. It was also good, but not as great.
PS — You may need to further child-​proof your home after My Gym, because what was once not accessible, may suddenly be.

I just had my son’s fifth birthday party here. I have only great things to say about this place.
Great customer service and very friendly staff. Children were all involved in the activities that were very structured yet fun for the kids. The party started with free play until all the guests had arrived, followed by group activities. The kids were having tons of fun and were very involved in all the activities that were planned for them. After about 40 minutes of play, they gathered everyone for pizza and juice. The staff took care of serving the food. Then it was time for cake cutting, some more free play followed by wrap up. They took care of all the clean up too. Avi and Katie were just great and kept the kids fully entertained. Best of all they made the birthday boy feel super special.
I would highly recommend this place for your child’s next birthday party.
