Bianchini’s Market

I have just found a butcher to supply me with prime rib, USDA Prime and Choice. Sal took care of me but pre-​cutting the bones and tying the slab back up.
I am very happy with my purchase and will certainly be back.

Dear deli manager. Or store manager. Your service at the deli is terrible. To begin, I feel as if my order is an inconvenience for most of your help. Second, they get an attitude about my order which is always very simple. Third, I’ve received the wrong bread for my sandwich TWICE in one week. That’s because they provide terrible service. Your cashiers are very friendly I wish I had their names to recognize them. Step it up in the deli. $ 7 for bread and meat should come with a smile. And the correct order.

This market thinks it is Whole Foods but provides a subpar product at a much higher price than Whole Foods. The staff was not very friendly nor did they have good customer service. The place reeks of snobbery as well. Actually saw some staff members starring and watching an African American couple as they shopped as if suspicious. Seriously a total turn off to see that. Never coming here again.

We shop at Bianchini’s a couple times a week and are never disappointed. We love the meat and fish market, the assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables and variety of speciality foods like Blue Bottle iced coffee and walnut nut butter. The homemade Chicken Salad is a must try! They also have a great selection of wine, cheese and beer. You literally can’t go wrong here.

This is a very convenient location for locals with a real mom and pop feel. The clerks are friendly and the full-​service deli department hard working: soup bar, salad bar, pasta bar. Plus a beautiful bakery and lots of Italian goodies. I appreciate having them here. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. If you don’t know a good thing when you’ve got it, I suggest you shop at Lucky’s.
And as for some of these truly undeserved nasty reviews, too bad Unilocal attracts such unhappy people. I am thrilled I will not be crossing paths with you in this terrific store.

Bianchinis is very conveniently located. The service at the deli counter is horrible. They act as if you aren’t even there. My wife and I have spent thousands at this store and received a rewards check that’s not even a check. I think our spend was over 3k and we got a 42 dollar gift certificate. I wish Robert’s market would take over this location. I’m ok spending a premium for convenience but I’m pretty much resigned to skipping this place from here on. Their location in Ladera is good. They must give it all their attention.

This shockingly overpriced place carries your typical Whole Foods selection at double the prices — I kid you not. You will see some old money (and I am not sure about the money part), type of folks strolling the isles, along with a whole bunch of wannabes.
The staff never misses an opportunity to showcase their belonging by being «sophisticated», but really just snobbish and borderline rude.
If you like to soothe your insecurities by throwing out money, this is the place for you. For quality foods and service, I take my business elsewhere.

A decent store, which tends to carry more or less everything I need for my food needs. Prices of some things are a little higher than at larger chain stores, but that’s business for you. Challah is also easy to find there, which I appreciate.
The rewards card can be a little confusing; instead of giving discounts, it tracks how much you spend over the year, then gives you 1−2% back, so long as you’ve spent $ 100 – 200 that year. Though considering groceries are something of a necessity, that’s not too tricky.
The staff I’ve experiences has been mostly positive, with one glaring exception of a cashier I encountered today. After she failed to notice that I was getting cash back with my purchase, shutting the register and handing my receipt, I awkwardly mentioned that I was. She condescendingly said «Well you can take the receipt first,» then the most malicious «buh-​bye» I’ve ever heard.
With the exception of that one moment of bad service, though, the market has been fine.

Nice local market with good selection of beautiful organic fruit. Also wide selection of deli stuff and things like gourmet ice cream. Lots of parking. A bit pricey but to be expected given location in san carlos downtown

Since moving to San Carlos, this market has been my weekly go to for all my fresh foods. Great meat selection and fish, good quality. Bakery sometimes makes a white chocolate bread pudding and it’s amazing! Glad it’s not here weekly or else I would be eating it all the time! Staff are always friendly here, too.

Truly the worst grocery store.
So if you ask the butcher to cut a 2lb. fillet in half, there is a good chance they will say, «no». Why, because every person that works here seems unhappy. I think they enjoy sharing their miserable existence. Truly just a terrible store.
Also, lots of there beef has a grey iridescent hue…

I mentioned many times of how when I find business that is rude. I will base my stars on that. Well it was nice doing business with them. Went back in yesterday and I have to say I have totally different experienced than the last couple of times I was in there. Rude woman behind the hot food area speak to me like I don’t speak English well. How many times I have to repeat myself? I may never know. Stood there forever with all these employees ignoring their customers by speaking loudly in Spanish. I am not sure if I went in on their pissed off day but gert your loins and prepared for the «I hate you for coming in here look» I swear I can not find a place where I can just go in looking like a bum and being treated like I matter. Been nice knowing you and your high standard of who should shop in your store.

*CATERING REVIEW* If you’re in need of a caterer, I highly recommend Bianchini’s Market in San Carlos.
I booked their services to cater a hospital celebration this past Spring; Bianchini’s exceeded my expectations and it was a pleasure to coordinate my event with Denise.
Barbecue Menu, reasonably priced at $ 18.75 per person, includes a choice of 2 grilled items, 2 hot dishes, and 2 cold dishes.
* BBQ Quarter Chicken: fall-​off-​the-​bone delicious. Juicy, smoked dark meat basted in a slightly sweet, tangy sauce.
* Tri-​tip: arrived in a reduced au jus. This dish was the belle of the ball. Thin slices of center cuts were perfectly pink in the center, end cuts were medium well done, each bite melt-​in-​your mouth tender.
* Sweet Corn on the Cob: stayed succulent in a seasoned milk and butter bath.
* Gooey Three Cheese Macaroni: baked to a rich, golden perfection.
* Caprese Salad: gorgeous Heirloom Tomatoes, Fresh Mozzarella Cheese, Basil chiffonade, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, served with a bottle of the Market’s finest Balsamic Vinaigrette. A refreshing accompaniment to the grilled meats.
* Pasta Primavera Salad: served cold, this hearty side is essentially the Caprese Salad tossed with penne pasta. A meatless dish appreciated by vegetarians.
As if all that food wasn’t already sufficient for our 35 guests, Bianchini’s BBQ Catering Menu also includes baskets of Sourdough Rolls and Garlic Bread, Lemonade & Iced Tea served in 3 gallon dispensers, two platters of assorted Brownies & Cookies PLUS all the Paper Products you need (eco-​friendly biodegradable plates, napkins, cups, and utensils).
Bianchini’s provided an OUTSTANDING experience from beginning to end:
* Accommodating service took dietary restrictions into consideration (nut allergies);
* For a mere $ 20, prompt delivery and pick up of chaffing dishes, drink dispensers, etc was an added convenience;
* Beautiful presentation set up on the day of the event by a pleasant, professionally-​dressed gentleman;
* High-​quality ingredients, generous portions, and delicious flavors thoroughly enjoyed by guests.
My experience with Bianchini’s Catering was so impressive that I just booked them again for another corporate event later this month.

I stopped by here while handling some remote work related business, and discovered a gem! Bianchini’s Market is a locally owned, full service grocer, focusing on high end grocery items and organic foods. Of course its going to be more expensive than Safeway!
While walking around, I saw that they have a small, but impressive deli, and a well organized butcher case. I don’t eat much red meat these days, but when I do, I usually grab a pack of whatever USDA Prime from Costco. However, the ribeyes at Bianchini’s looked amazing, and I couldn’t help myself. I ended up with a single steak that cost me $ 22.99. To be honest, that’s the most expensive single serving of meat that I’ve ever purchased that I had to cook myself. I also picked up a couple of Mary’s air-​chilled chicken breasts for a more reasonable $ 5.99/pound.
The steak, it was good. It was expensive. But it was cheaper than Whole Foods, and it was also cheaper than my local craft butcher who charges $ 27/​pound for his ribeyes. I think you’d have to have a small fortune to do all of your shopping here, but I have the same complaint about Whole Foods, and I tend to shop at multiple grocers all week, depending on what I’m looking for.
The employees here wear white button down shirts with black pants and grocer’s aprons. It’s like getting time warped back to 1977 or something. Also, most of the employees here are real adults, so when you’re talking to the butcher, or deli person, or a cashier, everyone knows what they’re talking about! The service was refreshing over the rolled eyes you get at Safeway and some Trader Joe’s.

Everything is a few dollars more here than it would be at Safeway. The selection is not as good as other classier grocery stores like Lynardis, Dragers, & Piazzas. But the meat & deli depts are pretty legit. The place feels too small, and configured weird. Ok enough of my bitching. I do want to point out that the staff is really friendly here. Especially the girl with the cool eyeshadow and sweet smile. I think her name is Liz and I think I have a girl crush!

This place is like a mini Safeway but all organic. It is very local and all the food seems very fresh.
It was my first time coming to this market in Redwood. My friend and I bought some Tuna slices, although it was a bit on the pricey spectrum, it was pretty worth it. We bought 2 slices to make our Hawaiian POKE! We also bought some onions and garlic. I like how all the food are pretty much organic so there are brands of sauce that I have not tried.
The Hawaiian POKE turned out to be really good.

A big part of the reason I love coming to Bianchini’s is because they’re 2 doors down from Nothing Bundt Cakes and they’re own of the few downtown San Carlos businesses that have a dedicated customer parking lot.
I know everyone mentions that this place is a bit pricey, but no more so than sh*tty Safeway, and this place actually has great customer service and a far more dynamic selection.
They’re produce is beautiful and if you keep your eyes out for sales you can save some major scratch on high quality product. They’re selection of craft beer bombers is pretty swank and I feel like their recommendations on nominally priced wine are pretty on point as well. Also need to give them some big ups on carrying green chile corn tortillas, making the daily budget tacos I eat slightly less ‘budget’ but a whole lot better flavor-​wise.
Sign up for their customer card to save 2% or something like that and always like getting in the last line with the woman who has the long brown hair with barrel curls because her smile is contagious, she apologizes for any wait in line even if you waiting a third of a second, and she’s just the sweetest person to ever work a conveyor belt ever.

The quality of the avocados I received from Bianchini’s was mindblowing. This place has great produce! Same with the tomato — yum :)

I would not shop here for groceries (holy cow the prices are insane) but they make delicious sandwiches and they have a great selection of cheeses and deli meats. The meat department also has a much bigger variety than regular grocery stores but again, pricey.

Bianchini’s just laid the death blow on Whole Foods ASS. Do not get me wring, Whole Foods stocks quality product and I am a fan of their butcher. Which by the way is the sole reason for this update.
Whole Foods always has some great cuts of beef. But lately, well actually for the past year their butchers have lost their customer service edge. If I’m going to drop $ 29.99 a pound on filet mignon I expect a tiny little bit of attention and if I ask a butcher to grab me two filets that are approximately the same size that is not too much to ask for.
Bianchini’s Market stocks as good (if not better) meats as Whole Foods. The difference is their level of service is a «cut» above. Grass fed ground beef and rib eyes? Yep, they have them! And if you need to spend a few extra minutes to make sure that the filet you intend to grill is the right thickness, no worries and they will even weigh it for you.
