We’ve had Dave at Aquatic Pool Service for many years and have found him very knowledgeable and helpful when we’ve had problems. He has always solved any problems we’ve had. Apparently E.B. ended up with a leak detector company even after consulting with other pool services so not sure why Dave gets the bad review. Dave is a very laid back guy, not an insistent type of personality… and I’m sure he thought it was an underground leak. Sometimes the best people don’t always have all the answers. Sounds like E.B. was very frustrated after spending a boat load of money for a simple fix. I would have been frustrated, too but leaks are not always simple to find… and Dave and his business do not deserve a 1 star.

I was sorry to see the prior review for Dave, the owner of Aquatic Pool Service. We have has prior experience with the company, and recommended them to other friends and family. I have found the work to be very good. Dave is dependable and will keep his appointment, give an honest estimate of the cost of work to be done and does not pressure you into any decisions. Friends have also used his ongoing pool maintenance and been very happy.

Avoid this place since the person(Dave), that will come to service your pool is not the sharpest tool in the shed. He’s a fast talker, which is probably a way to cover up his lack of experience. This was the company assigned to me by my home warranty for a pump that was not working. Air for some reason just kept getting into the pump. He came out to look at it(had to pay $ 65 service fee), and from just looking down at it was able to tell me that there was a leak in the pipe, Since there were no obvious water coming out of the pipes that are above ground before the pump, he was certain that it was«an underground pipe leak,» which he of course mentions that«the home warranty won’t cover.» So what does he do, recommend a leak detection company since he does not fix underground pipes and does not have the equipment to detect it. However, to his credit he did put some sealants to the pipes before the pump which seemed to do the trick and came back to re-do some of the pipes with new sealant. However the problem with air going into the pump returned. He told me that if I did the bucket test it would confirm that there was indeed a leak(with water level dropping rapidly) and that I should have the leak detection company take a look at it. I did the bucket test and had little to no water loss. When I mentioned this to him, he just said«well it could still be an underground pipe,» and gave me the name of the leak detection company he recommends. This guy insisted that there was nothing else that he could do and that it had to be the pipes underground. He asked if I wanted him to comeback, but what the heck was the point. Contacting several other pool companies, I was given other possible causes for the air problem that Aquatic Pool Service does not seem to know about. Those other causes were not the underground pipe leak that Aquatic Pool Service was so adamant in pushing. To make a long story short, thanks to this genius’s skills, I ended up hiring someone to clean my pool(who charged me $ 457) in order to have a leak detection specialist look for the«undergound pipe leak.» That leak detection specialist came buy, not the one recommended by Aquatic Pools Service, and managed to fix the pump problem. Guess what guys, it WASNOT an «UNDERGROUNDLEAK,» which aquatic pool service insisted it was by eyeballing the pump. All the leak detection guy did was add a sealant to the skimmer valve. That sealant probably cost less than $ 5 dollars. If this company knew what they were doing, it would have saved me over $ 800. I would not have had to hire someone to clean my pool(since the pump would have been working) and I would not have had to hire a leak detector. So, unless you guys are desperate and are ok with significantly below average service and knowledge as well as being notified of your«underground leak,» then Aquatic Pool Service is the company for all of your money wasting pool service need.
