What a great business. Robert went way above and beyond setting me up with a hitch and power line. The work was beautifully done. I wasn’t able to bring my vehicle in until late in the day but he stayed well after closing to complete the installation. Pretty much as good as it gets.

This place is great. Not much to look at as they are truly an industrial operation with random trailers, stored motorhomes, and lots of iron parts strewn about. But I brought my Audi S5 there for a trailer hitch install (for carrying bikes) and they did a careful, exact job. And… they were very reasonably priced. There’s something to be said for specialization.

Came in this morning at 10am. I did not make any appointments with them previously. I did spoke with them the day before about they hours of operation, that’s about it. I already had the Torklift Central EcoHitch in my trunk for the 2016 Toyota Prius V.
Robert welcomed me and just said «I’ll need the car keys and 45 min to install the hitch»
After 45 min the EcoHitch 2″ was perfectly installed on my 2016 Toyota Prius V — Awesome Work!!!
Last time I installed Curt 2″ Hitch by myself on my Infiniti FX37. I did it in my garage crawling under the car. It took me about 2 ½ hours to get it done. Well… Never again!!! From now and on I’ll be only coming to A & B Trailer Hitch. Even though I live in Hayward, it’s still worth it for me to come here and pay their way cheaper prices then everyone else to have my trailer hitch installed. FYI «Rack N Road» from Campbell quoted me $ 300 (labor only) to install exactly the same hitch on my 2016 Prius V and they were not willing to go lower on the price at all. A & B quoted me over the phone for $ 85. So you do the math :-/​

Excellent job. My car was ready in 45 minutes, exactly as promised. The owner walked me through my options, and recommended a less expensive alternative. I will go again for any other car I have that needs a hitch.

Unilocalers really came thru and I have to add my raving review to this list! I brought my car in to have a hitch installed (really competitive quote after calling around) for a bike rack that I just bought and the guys offered to put my rack on for me after they installed the hitch. Little did I know that the bike rack (which was still in the box) would require some significant assembly… these guys did it for no additional cost and it took them past closing time ! Everyone should get their hitch work done here. Businesses like this deserve to do well.

How could anyone give this place anything less than 5 stars.
This place is awesome. When everyone else told me there is no way a hitch could be installed in my truck with the setup I have they did it.
They installed my new b&w turnover ball hitch in my f450 with a 3 body lift for a fraction of the cost anyone else would.

When a place has this many positive reviews I will not bother adding one more on… but I will make an exception for this place.
I came in Friday to have a set of factory running boards installed on a 2015 RAV4. Turns out there have been some changes to the RAV4 in 2015, but the board brackets had not been updated.
Long story short a simple install took many calls to Toyota and the better part of the day. In the end they got them on they look great and they were more than reasonable with the cost.
I will be back in the future when I need a simple hitch attached.

I’ve used A & B to have hitches (for car rack use) installed on two cars. The first was a straightforward installation of a Curt model built for my Subaru WRX. A & B’s price was good, and the installation went smoothly.
I recently purchased a BMW M235i, which has no hitch made for it by anyone I could find. The European model has a type of hitch available, so I took the car to Robert and he looked at it, and thought he could get an off-​the-​shelf Curt hitch to bolt up. I made an appointment and 2 hours later, I have a totally professionally installed hitch on the car.

Talents and businesses like this are what makes living in the Bay are soooo worth it. I’m not even going to say how much other less experienced people quoted to install my simple Curt hitch on our Outback. These guys, Robert and his crew-​did it quick, and well, and were friendly and pricing was totally reasonable. From large RVs, trailors to small jobs these guys are as good as it gets. Totally professional!!! Robert is so amazing not only is he a wonderful person but he’s extremely intelligent at what he does I would recommend him to everyone.
I was referred to him by a friend of mine in the towing business. He said that he is somebody that I could trust to do a job hundred percent right. He was right!
I had a troubleshooting issue that required someone to figure out why my lights were staying on when the truck was off. Luckily problem was fixed in five minutes. I will be taking everything and anything that I need wired up trailer wise to him from now on. Thanks Robert you’re awesome!

As always, A&B does exceptional work. Customer service is the best. This my second visit, this time to install Curt Hitch on HummerH3 w/​custom dual exhaust. They had to drop the dual exhaust pipes and had everything back and running and me out the doors within 45 minutes. Great work, price is great. I would recommend this shop anytime. I have a brand new 2015 BMW 328x GT and no one would, or could put a tow hitch on it (for my bike rack). I called Road N Rack in San Rafael and they said «If anyone can do it, Robert can, or he’ll make you a custom hitch». So I call Robert @ A&B and he says «I don’t think you need a custom hitch and I hate to have you drive all the way down here but I am sure I can do it» So, I drive down and two hours later I have a tow hitch, standard not custom, at a great price. Thanks Robert!

Lets see, this establishment installed a hitch for my car promised in an hour, install took 35minutes!!! The staff was super friendly and informative, basic hitch install for me, Curt brand was installed on the rear of my Dodge Challenger, no lift needed. Just wood panels slightly inclined to allow the tech access to the bottom of the car.
The establishment is cluttered with several hitches, allot of storage type trailers, some for horses, some different sized trailer type homes, this is on the outside, several trailers also on the inside, also several vehicles trucks, midsize and full size cars some boats. The main guy in front Robert was very helpful, I asked other then the hitch if there was anything else I needed, he stated only wiring if I decide to have a trailer that requires power for the spot lights other then that the hitch installed should be all you need
Seems they do custom work also, on trailers overheard few patrons were talking of installing lighting on the outside and inside, seems they can do almost anything you want custom all you need to do is ask. Pleasant experience, will be back if I have future hitch inquires

I have had a number of transactions with these guys. Some better than others. Will say tho, that in each, I really like everyone that works there. Truly nice people. They really want to make it right. That said, they have some problems. I think they are probably related to over booking work along with maybe some organizational issues. As in, they are not very. The guy that does most of the work there seems to jump from job to job like a pin ball. In my most recent visit, involved moving a hitch from my old car to new, it meant shuttling cars. They missed their promised completion time at every stage. And every time I arrived to pick up a vehicle, they were never ready AND the workers were working on other jobs. But the worst thing that happened in my last visit, was that my cargo cover disappeared. I owned the vehicle for one week and the cover was on when I dropped the car off. Gone. I do not believe for a moment it was taken deliberately. But given the general disorganized nature of that shop, easy to imagine it was misplaced.
I still think they are honest and competent. But I would never wait for work to be done (big mistake) and check everything carefully before you leave.
