UTSA Downtown Campus

I love the UTSA downtown campus. The location and parking is so much better than the main campus. The campus is not very big so all the buildings are easy to get to. I like the design of the buildings and I also love all the art that is all over campus. I feel like something is missing from the campus, especially the outside area but I can’t put my finger on it. I feel like there needs to be more going on.
I also believe that they need to implement the proposed child care program a student started a petition for. I think it’s messed up that graduate students who are more likely to be parents do not have an option for child care like the main campus does (where most undergraduate students are).

Humanities Texas hosted a one day institute here on the topic of slavery, secession, and the Civil War. Parking was easy to find, despite being located directly under interstate 10. Walking to the Durango building was extremely easy and crossing the street wasn’t too bad. The facilities are beautiful, technology was great, and the lounge areas were spacious with a good number of seats. I did not see many students around campus but that might have just been our location. I would definitely return here for another professional development session, given the ease of navigating campus and the nice accommodations.

This facility downtown is great for night classes. They are not crowded. Parking is easy to find and very near the campus. There is a gym here you can go to along with a food court aaaaaand yes, Starbucks. There are 3 main buildings and the classes are all close to each other. It’s like mini college here and you avoid all the headaches of a bigger campus. I love it here. Go runners!

Best campus I’ve ever been too. Very nice NEW buildings the facilities are impeccable. It’s primarily home to the school of architecture, which I attend. The campus itself is very beautiful and well maintained it has all the facilities of the main campus but in a small and useful way. It also is next to the downtown area which is a real plus for me so I can go eat or walk the river walk between classes. In a way you feel your at a private university when ur really at Utsa.

I’m a big fan of the downtown library. The staff are very kind and helpful and there are plenty of computers and work stations. I also like that you can rent study rooms and check out equipment like laptops. I also really like the designated quiet area that they have towards the back of the library. Tip: if the library doesn’t have the book you are looking for you can request it from interlibrary loan!

Cool campus, great food choices, tricky parking (I got a ticket the first day, ouch!), but great faculty — masters of education department rocks!

3 stars= Average, acceptable, positive.

I love the UTSA downtown library. Always clean and the staff is always helpful. It is not overcrowded here. You do not have to walk in circles looking for a nice quiet place to study. You will find one immediately. If you really want to study and not just socialize this is the place to do it.

Small class sizes at the down town campus offer a more personal feel to the learning experience. I have had large classes here, but the professors are great and I have no real complaints besides the distance from main campus. On the plus side it’s downtown where there other cool places to study and hang out after class.

Now that I graduated this past summer I decided write this review. UTSA Downtown Campus is a Awesome. I was able to complete all of my classes here. The campus is broken down to 3 main buildings which each serve a purpose. Just about all the services that UTSA offers are available at the downtown campus. I love how the classrooms are modern, and have up to date technology. Telecourses were helpful to me, because I didn’t have ever leave the campus to make class. You just go to your classroom in the downtown campus, and watch your instructor teach from the Main Campus or vice versa. The Criminal Justice department office is here, so all classes meet here. I really liked the quality of education I was given from UTSA. I think it is a great school, and it’s getting bigger and better. I give UTSA Downtown Campus 5 Stars! Go Runners U – T – S – A Gooooooooooo Runners!

I was on this campus for a small business seminar and I truly enjoyed walking around. The building is very contemporary and has great art hanging on the walls. The grounds are maintained nicely and I believe it is a great addition to the down town scene.
The food options were decent with a Subway, a burger type joint, and a salad bar. If I was a student there I would probably bring my lunch due to the prices and quality, but it is great for the once and a while lunch.

I actually just went there for the restroom, so I can’t really tell you if this is a good or bad library. But the restrooms were in working conditions.

Great selection of old records, and a good quiet place to kick back and read!
They have a large number of computer terminals to work at, all in little cubicles so you don’t get distracted spying on your neighbor Unilocaling.
They have a pretty good DVD selection. The selection isn’t quite as good as the JPL Library on the main campus, but it has an infinite number of times more books than the AET Library ;)
The librarians are always helpful and courteous. They are always ready to help with a smile. Their quest is your education, and they strive to accomplish their mission!

In terms of accessibility, the UTSA Downtown Campus scores highly. I’m not too big of a fan of anything else, though.

The downtown campus is home to several programs, including the College of Public Policy where I’m getting my MPA. The facilities are stunning, but not all that functional as classroom spaces.
The grounds and the buildings are well maintained, always very clean. My biggest beef is that 100% of my classes are in the evenings, but the security presence on after dark leaves something to be desired. I shell out big bucks to park close so that I don’t have to walk far to my vehicle.

This campus is beautiful compared to the main campus. While I was in town I decided to meet up with a friend in the area. One of my friends used to attend the main campus where I used to visit her frequently but now she has transferred to Architecture and now has the majority of her classes here.
At first I didn’t even realize this was a UTSA school because it’s so NEW. The campus is small overall but the buildings are a sight to see.

The campus grounds are nice but when it comes to actual coursework, it sucks but then again Master’s degrees are all about research. I hated all the research so I decided to withdraw.

This campus is home to several departments such as Criminal Justice and Architecture, so if your planning on majoring in those be prepared to spend a lot of time downtown at this campus. SAPD headquarters is a stone throw away in one direction and the courthouse for the county is on the other side with a sub station, making this campus frequently passed with police cars making it seem ridiculously safe and protected at all hours.
There are only two downsides:
— Food is limited (there is a subway – hack hack)
— Its seriously separated from main campus, making rush hour commutes a nightmare, plan accordingly.
