The Woodhouse Day Spa – San Antonio – Quarry

I was a little disappointed. I don’t think I received my full hr I paid for. When mentioned this to the hostess, she said that the time spent in the changing room is considered part of the one hr. Really? I’m paying for a 1hr massage, not a 1 hr ‘experience’. That’s stupid. Never been back and don’t plan on going back.
I do have to add, they do a good job massaging your body though. Just false advertizing with the time slots.

I had a pedicure today. It was my first visit to the Woodhouse Day Spa at the Rim. The technician filed off my shellac likely damaging my nails, didn’t work on my cuticles and massaged my legs for maybe five minutes. It was one of the worst pedicures I’ve ever had. The spa is clean, elegantly decorated, smells wonderful but unfortunately the pedicure was not up to my standards. Quite disappointing. To top off the experience, the spa called my friend who treated me to the pedicure to follow up on this bad review and notified her I complained. I specifically asked the spa not to call her. Really pretty unbelievable.

Had a great massage, but it did not last 50 minutes. The place is nice. I recommend Tony. She did a great job!

The wood house day spa does a great job with the environment they put you in. From the low light to the music and fragrance on the air. It is quite tranquil. The massages beds are quite nice and their massage services are awesome. My wife and I got a volcanic rock massage when We went last and she loved it. However if you like pinpoint muscle pressure this is not what you want to get. They use hot rocks the size of the Palm of your hand and I feel like they can’t really work the muscles properly With them. So over all the place is nice but my last experience was meh.

My boyfriend bought me the holiday day spa package groupon which was to include a massage, facial, pedicure, & hand paraffin. I was very happy with my services & I had decided to add on a shellac manicure & pay for that myself. I have never received such a poor manicure before. There was no attention to detail as far as making sure all sides had paint, & that they were even when it comes to getting near the cuticles. For a $ 70 manicure I do expect something close to perfect. Instead I had to come back the next morning because the paint was literally peeling off on 2 nails. Then the nail technician said that it wasn’t peeling when I could literally push it off my nail if I tried. A week after my manicure the shellac was already wearing off. I pay for shellac so it’ll last a minimum of 1.5−2 weeks. I’ve paid half the price & been much happier. To top it off, my boyfriend asked me if I received my $ 25 voucher for a future service & I hadn’t. They never bothered to give that to me until I had gone back to ask. I was not offered any compensation for my nails even though I had to take time out of my day to come back so they could fix a mistake that should have never happened.

I got a groupon for my bday and used it today. The staff up front were very nice. I was then taken to the tea room. I had my massage first. Tamara was great. i swear at one point i thought i was gonna pass out. Then I saw Aubry for my facial. I loved it. She was super friendly. And last I got a pedi with a paraffin hand dip. Susie was great. I have a fantastic pedi. I really enjoyed my spa day and can’t wait to go back.

I previously redeemed a Groupon in July for a massage and pedicure. Loved that service and was given a $ 25 gift card to use for a future service. I figured I’d call the spa to see if they can pull it up since I can’t find it. A concierge named Monique answered the phone and provided the rudest customer service ever! First she couldn’t locate that I went in for a massage in July, then she said that I didn’t have the $ 25 voucher to use and she couldn’t find my name in their log. She was completely rude during the phone call and never once apologized for her behavior. After giving the date of my previous service several times, she finally located my name in the binder and said I have the voucher on file. But she said it wasn’t a gift card and that I wasn’t to «redeem» it. That makes no sense. She never bothered to try to schedule a service for me and told me good bye and hung up the phone.

Way too expansive for the quality! Their signature pedicure was a joke. Just running stones on your shin and calf does not a massage make. The lady who did my pedicure literally left for 15 minutes during my 80 minute pedicure! Then their computers couldn’t even take my payment and I had to write a check. Horrible place, will never go again. Don’t waste your money!!!

What happened to this place!!! The environment is super and clean and relaxing. But management needs to reassess their resources. I’ve been going there for three years. Last few times they would switch therapists on me last second by borrowing therapists from other locations. Seriously! The amount of money I pay per session I expect to get the therapist I scheduled with. I complained and the staff didn’t do anything about it! The therapist they switched me over with was mediocre at best. There has been so much turn over at that location even my facial lady changes all the time. Last time I went for a facial the lady used a clarasonic on me 4times. No thank you I have a clarasonic at home. Not going there anymore. Too bad because the spa atmosphere and lockers are really nice. Also don’t even try to book online. Never works.

I do love the massages that I get from here most of the time. I have only had one poor massage and that therapist is no longer there. I can say that is one drawback. They seem to have staff turnover quite a bit. I have a busy schedule and it is hard to coordinate my massages and pedicures. My last pedicure appointment was not great. I live a bit far from the spa and left early to be prompt for my 9 am appointment. I got there to be informed that my technician was running late. I had another appointment far away and had given myself travel time. They assured me that she would be there in a few minutes. She was 30 minutes late and caused me to be late for my next appointment. Five hours later, my nail polish was still moist and messed up on one toe. I called to see if it could be fixed in a week when I came in for my massage. They didn’t have time. It still isn’t fixed. They also called me 2 days before my massage appointment and tried to reschedule me. I like this place but it may not work for someone with a busy schedule like me.

I received a call a couple weeks back from The Woodhouse Day Spa. They informed me that if I continued coming in every month for an eyebrow wax, I could come just for that! I was so pleasantly surprised that the manager made an exception for people like me. I was also touched because it was my esthetician, Lauren, who asked for them to call me. I went in within a few days and have already prebooked my next appointment. Thank you for understanding and making an exception to the new policy given to you from corporate. I am a very happy customer again!

I went on a Sunday at 5 pm and was welcomed by some friendly girls at the front desk. I sat in a pleasant and relaxing room drinking hot tea and cucumber water until Joanna was ready for me, which was right on time. She did an excellent job on my pedicure and the massage of the feet and lower legs was beyond what I expected. I definitely recommend this establishment for a relaxing pedicure. I’m looking forward to trying some of their other services in the near future. I used a $ 50 spa wish card toward my service, paid the difference that was left in cash and of course a nice tip :)

We went for my friend’s birthday and did a group of pedicures and massages.
Pros– the spa is beautiful and peaceful. Upscale and luxurious. I like that the staff offered beverages including hot tea which was good. The robes were very soft and changing into shoes and robes made you feel in the moment. The massages from what my friends said were very good. I didn’t get one so I can’t comment either way. The staff was very kind, welcoming and professional. They even brought out a birthday hat and candles for us which was very nice of them.
Cons– the pedicures were lacking. The selection of colors was minimal and they don’t do shellac which is all I do. The color I chose was suppose to dry in minutes but didn’t. It also went on uneven. They barely did any leg massage and they left quite a bit of skin around my toes. Basically I’ll be getting another pedicure in a week.
I would recommend this spa for more traditional services like massage.

AHHH-​MAZING!!! Let me start by saying that I had a major customer complaint. It was not over services, because their services are wonderful! It was over a deal they are running that wasn’t properly explained to me. The manager refused to do anything, but the owner stepped in and made things RIGHT! The owner absolutely, positively knows what customer service is. She treated me like first class, and my next experience, which was today… Was AAA++ service!!! Thank you! You have a customer for life!!!

I got a 80 minute massage.
The ambience is easily 5 star. This is what all spas used to be. Everyone was friendly and the lockers and shower are very convenient for after a massage.
The massage itself was just ok. The guy was professional but just not that good. I’ve had much better at a lower cost. It wasn’t terrible but I would not come back for a massage here.
The customer service is very good to poor. They were very friendly and accommodating… however the gift card I had could not be used at that time due to issues on their side. I went ahead and paid cash (including tip a bit over $ 230) and was told the manager would contact me so I can redeem the certificate and receive and refund for the amount. A week later I have yet to hear from them. I have a feeling they will conveniently lose the details of my time with them since I paid cash in hopes I will frequent them again for another service to redeem the gift that was purchased for me.
Summary: Lovely interior, relaxing environment, has all the trappings and perks of a real spa. Meh massage. They get one star for making a promise and not following through. Obviously they don’t value my business.
I hope the other location has better management since I will not frequent this one again.

Hour massage lasted 35 minutes because no one was at the reception desk for 10 minutes when I arrived. Terrible customer service, mediocre massage, awful facial.

Wow! Great place. I moved to San Antonio about a year ago and have not found a great spa but this one certainly tops the chart. I came on a groupon and glad I did. Will definitely be back.
The atmosphere is amazing. Calming, peaceful and relaxing. Beautifully appointed. The dressing rooms are warm and have every amenity you would wish. They even had robes up to XXXL which I appreciated. The tea room where you wait is another beautifully done space with water, tea and even snacks.
The massage was great. She was professional and did not spend time chattering which I appreciated. I left feeling nice and tingly.
The facial was great. First time I’ve had male esthetician, and I’m sold. No high pressure sales which I appreciated. I left feeling like I glowed. Would definitely use him again. Wish I could remember his name. Started with a J I believe.
Then finished out the day with a pedicure. I’ve finally found a great place in San Antonio. I’ve lamented ever finding one. LaVetta was awesome. I’d recommend her highly. The massage was one of the best I’ve eve had period. I’ll come back just for that.
All in all two thumbs up. I’m very impressed.

Okay, the service up front, the ambiance, the serenity… all FIVE stars! The lost two stars came with my treatment. It was a male masseuse (first time) and I swear, I felt like all he wanted to do was prove to me that male therapists were superior. He talked the whole time, «I bet you’ve never felt like this before…» and it really was creepy. He completely turned me off male therapists forever! I have also not returned to them because I refuse to run into him on my way to a room with a female therapist! *shiver*
This was a gift, so I’m not truly sure about the $$$ — could be $$, but I assumed because of the area.

Fantastic service every time! My girlfriends and I needed a good pampering and we all got facials and massages.
The locker room area is always clean with robes, slippers and the waiting lobby is spacious and relaxing. The ambiance is always a treat! I also got a scalp treatment and my therapist did an amazing job with that. I suffer from constant migraines and going in for this massage has relaxed me and helped me alleviate my horrible migraines over the past few weeks.
Even my girlfriends that is very picky enjoyed the whole experience and want to come back again.
Afterwards, there is a shower area where you can clean yourself off of the oils and such which is nice as well, very luxurious.
I would recommend this salon to anyone and will be back again soon!

I have been to the Woodhouse Day Spa at The Rim twice — once to redeem a Groupon offer and once to redeem a Christmas gift.
Parking is no problem, with a huge lot shared amongst all of The Rim tenants. I was able to book my appointments easily. They have an online booking option but I still find that booking via phone is easier (call me old-​fashioned).
Their locker room and changing facilities are very nice and you are provided with a robe and slippers. The waiting room is large, relaxing, and water, tea (I recommend the Hot Cinnamon Sunset one), and snacks are available. To date, I have had a two Swedish massages, a sugar scrub pedicure, and a brightening facial. All of my services were wonderful, and the service providers were great at listening to what I wanted.
I would highly recommend The Woodhouse Day Spa to anyone looking for a quick and relaxing escape.
