I came in to get checked for neck, shoulder and back pains that are intolerable. I expected a long wait but was surprised at how quickly things were moving. The girl that checked me in was the only one I would have to say was not friendly. Instead of being greeted or simply telling me what she needs with a smile on her face she was very serious, looked mad and lacked some communication skills.
Once I was called to the back, the mod changed. The guy who checked my vitals was friendly and then the doctor was just amazing. The doctor knew exactly what was wrong and was able to find a solution to my problem. She explained the issue and prescribed me medication for my pain. I needed some X-​rays done and then a follow up in a few days. I was very happy with the doctor since she explained everything and answered all the questions me and my boyfriend had.
I don’t usually like coming to Texas Med but this visit was not bad

I would give this place zero stars if I could. The staff totally lacks compassion. I came in 6 weeks post op heart surgery for lower back pain. I waited an hour to be called back due to not enough doctors being here to address patient needs. By the time I got back to triage I was in so much pain and so upset that my blood pressure was elevated to ¹⁴²⁄₉₀. Not a good thing for someone who just had heart surgery. When I told the triage lady I was in pain she was dismissive and made excuses. I even commented on her lack of compassion and she didn’t even acknowledge my concerns as a patient. This place also serves as a worker’s comp medical facility and those «appointments» put other like myself, further down on the list. I’m totally disappointed in the lack of compassion and number of staff members this place has. Don’t come here if you need urgent care. It’s more like a doctor’s office.

My most recent visit was on MLK day. I had a stomach virus and didn’t want to go to the hospital. So I decided to come here instead. When I came in it was pretty crowded. I signed in and filled out paperwork. I asked how long the wait was and I was told about an hour. Okay. An hour passes and I’m seen to get checked for vitals. Nurse tech was friendly and understanding. After getting checked for vitals I’m sent back to the waiting room and I yet again wait for another 15 – 30 minutes to finally see a doctor. Doctor was very friendly and helpful. At the end of the visit I was given a list of what foods to eat, receipt, and a doctors note. I calculated that I was here for a total of two hours. So, if you want to avoid going to the hospital for a small emergency come to Texas Med Clinic. And a major key — BE PATIENT and bring your blanket because it gets cold. Although they will lower the temperature and offer blankets too. #awesome

Took my daughter for an ear infection. Staff was friendly enough considering it was in the middle of the night on a Friday. They even checked with a few pharmacies to ensure that they would be open and I would be able to get my prescription filled. I’d definitely come back if I need to.

The male doctor was absolutely wonderful and knowledgable. I went to this location due to the reviews for him as others would love as a PCP. I was in the EF-​4 tornado up in RowlettTX over the weekend. I came into something in contact with my skin during the search and rescue chaos. He figured it out quickly, I think he knew exactly what it was. Very knowledgable man. He drove from Chicago to San Antonio just to get back to work because his flight was delayed from all the terrible weather! I think that tells a mans priorities– His patients. I’m on my way to getting better already. The reason I gave them a 4 star is the cleanliness. I am a huge germaphobe. The place was picked up but I freak around any illness related structures. The counter lady was a little awkward. Maybe because she was had the lines memorized in her head and didn’t seem to hear me very well but maybe it was age. I don’t know. I’m friendly, calm and will talk to anyone. She seemed to not want to talk to anyone. (They weren’t busy and she was a bit demanding.) I will say the male nurse who gave me a steroid injection was absolutely fabulous he knew what he was doing, the shot barely hurt, just burned a little but you know when a person gives you a shot between the right and wrong by how it feels and he did great. Friendly guy. I will return if ever needed. My personal PCP couldn’t get me in and it was some what an allergic emergency. Impressed also because the visit was very quick. In and out within an hour from walking in the front door.

Doctor was fantastic! Knowledgeable & personable! Too bad he isn’t a PCP. Very informative, willing to give me scripts for several months worth of my thyroid & blood pressure meds to get me through until insurance and new PCP. AND he didn’t require labs (maybe because I had my dr-​prescribed meds with me). For whatever reason, no labs equals less money spent! FANTASTIC!

Went to an appt and their wasn’t a wait but it was a follow up n more paper work to fill up ?

And answer my Questions. Can’t say too much about the Staff their were busy gossiping in front of the Dr !!

Went last night after hours because I hate waiting 2hrs during the day time. Found out there is an $ 83 extra fee for showing up after 8pm so we left. Wish that was posted some place before I wasted my time driving there.

Went to the clinic off of culebra and 1604. I myself work in the medical field, so I generally have to be feeling pretty bad to go to see a provider. I went in for what I knew was a UTI. The female doctor came in, and asked me about 3 questions with her back to me. The. Turned around told me to pull my pants down (didn’t leave the room, or give me a gown) did a pelvis then pushed on my stomach. Told me it wasn’t a UTI and that I needed a CT scan. I refused because she had only spent 5 awful minutes with me and hadn’t even asked my about my urinary symptoms. I settled for an ultrasound which I had to drive across town for and wait 3 hours. All well still having horrible pelvic pain. They called me back later told me US was fine and to take Advil. So I’m going to work in pain all week then 5 days later I get a call saying that my culture came back and I did have a UTI. And the doctor called in an antibiotic that I had put down on my form is an allergy. (Hives). Needless to say I would rather be treated in a 3^rd world country then ever return here.

I admit it is true that they don’t call you in by the way you sign in. I think it’s based off of who’s situation is a little more severe at the time. I went in around 9pm and there was other people waiting but I had difficulty breathing so I went in before them. I was out in 30 mins. They took x-​rays and gave me a steroid shot. Everyone seemed decent, the girls were very nice, and the dr explained everything to me well. There were no TVS in the room like the other urgent care clinic I tried last week. But I really liked how someone from the office called me this morning to check up on how I was feeling and made me feel welcomed to call if I had any concern. Excellent customer service there! The dr there kept telling me for certain things I need to find myself a primary dr, which I don’t have since I’m new here. Hopefully I find a good one.

2 hour wait at 9 am in the morning. Was told it would be a 20 minute wait. Does not go by a first come first serve basis.

Not too bad. Went at 7pm on a Saturday. No one was there. Was taken back to be seen with in 10 minutes. Staff could be a little more friendly. Overall it was an okay experience. Better than most hospitals.

Came in a couple of days before Christmas because spouse was having a bout of asthma for which his usual meds were no help. Waited over 2 hours to be seen, while people who came in after us got called. Meanwhile asthma symptoms getting noticeably worse. When Spouse went up to the desk to inquire, it turned out the reception person had missing putting him in the system. Oops.
However, when Spouse finally saw a doctor, things started to happen. Dr. James Bugg rocks! He did not overreact or over-​prescribe, paid attention to the reality that Spouse has been dealing with asthma for 50 years, and knows what the symptoms are like. When Spouse was still wheezing after a nebulizer treatment, Dr. B. wrote two prescriptions, and made sure we knew that he was on duty over the holiday, including Christmas Day.
Plan on allowing a lot of time, and if you see others being called in who came in after you, check at the desk. (Oh, and we learned that you can sign in on line before leaving home, which might cut your waiting time.)
Highly recommended for small and medium-​level medical situations.

I want everyone to know what a fantastic experience I had at this med clinic. I brought my son on a Sunday. The staff was extremely kind. Dr. Bugs was very thorough and concerned. He referred us to the ER at the children’s hospital, he took his time to call over there so when we arrived they were expecting us. This is the only place I will go in case of emergency after regular Dr’s hours. Thank-​you Dr. Bugs.

I visited this clinic during after hours, but before I did so, I read several reviews and found that they were all horrible.
That’s not the experience I had. Everyone was friendly and efficient and Dr. Roberts took care of me. I was in and out in 30 minutes!

There is nothing that should be changed about this clinic. Clean, well maintained facility. Efficient staff who care about you, your pain and your time. Great, well educated and trained MD who takes whatever time you need. Charges reasonable and filed with insurance. Scripts emailed directly to pharmacy of my choice. 24 hours after my visit and I am in far less pain. Definitely a 5-​star medical facility.

Very very slow and do not respect peoples time. I was told it was going to take 25 mins to see the doctor. Reality is it tool 2 hours and 10 mins.
Poorly trained staff as well. Kept moving us from room to room.

I came in feeling horrible yesterday and waited about an hour to be sent back and spent about 5 minutes back there not to be diagnosed with anything. The doctor was nice and prescribed me 2 medicines. 24 hours later I still feel bad. Overall the staff was nice. I know I’m not a doctor but I didn’t get anything to clear up my symptoms. Only to get make my stomach pains dissappear. I’ll give them another try if I get sick again. Best of luck.

People are friendly. I loved the new Patient Portal and was really happy all the paperwork was completed online at home however when we got there, they said it doesn’t print out so we had do fill it all out again. I don’t even think it put us in queue as it should have. Waste of time and major disappointment! And no Wifi… Really???

Always friendly and quick. I wish people would leave their loud kids home OR discipline them. All this location needs is some WiFi.
