Omni San Antonio Hotel at The Colonnade

Overall, my stay at Omni was mediocre at best. Room was clean but very outdated. Common hotel amenities were not available. Such as free wifi. They charge 9.95 per night for wifi which I find outrageous. I had a major issue with being double charged. The hotel said they could not tell where I’d been charged a second time. It was a big hassle and all they did was offer me an apology and tell me to call my bank. Thankfully my bank was able to correct the issue. We left a day early and will not be returning.

I’m just checking in but I will update after my stay.
Check-​In was smooth and easy. However, when we arrived in our room, one of the beds was not made and there are stains on the sheets. I immediately notified the front desk. They came pretty fast. The manager came up and spoke with us as well. I really appreciate the rapid response.
They provided milk and cookies for my kids and that is pretty neat. The bathrooms need a deeper cleaning and update but I’ve seen worse. Let’s see how the rest of the stay goes. If everything else is great. I’ll bump them up for great customer service.

Hotel was listed as a girl with in room jacuzzi; not true. The girl that picked up the phone was not very friendly. Opting to not go, although I’ve stayed at Omni hotels everywhere I go.

Almost great. That’s the best way to describe this hotel. If it wasnt for the crappy wireless internet it would be great.
Rooms: Very good. Comfy beds, well maintained, big tvs. Dont touch the in room bar if you respect your wallet! Same with the pay per view.
Restaurant: Surprisingly good! Breakfast buffet quite nice. The fact they have lox and GOOD bagels on the menu is a huge plus. Dinner menu also surprisingly good. Real tortillas and fresh shrimp are big pluses. Wish they had more mexican food — this is San Antonio.
Nice pool and reasonable exercise equipment in good working order.
Staff is quite friendly and outgoing. Then again, I didn’t have any special requests.
Here’s the bad part: the wireless interent is horrible! Uselessly slow — and that was for the $ 18/​day «high speed». Avoid this at all costs.
The bar was… ok. One sorta craft beer. Wine list not horrible, if pricey. Bartenter was friendly and had the basic skills.
I wouldn’t avoid the Omni. It’s almost great.

My friends and I stayed here for a wedding because the reception was at the hotel. Overall, I thought it was just okay. Only one person was at the front desk so when there were a lot of people, it was a long wait. We asked room service to come back at a later time that day because we were dressing up but they showed up the next day.

We always stay here when I visit my parents and this time for one night. Upon arriving to check-​in I self parked and my key was already waiting for me to pickup. Being a member of Omni does have some nice perks and this is just one of them. Went up to room to place luggage in there and quickly saw our welcome gift. It was a white chocolate snowman on a plate with frosting at the base. I ate the frosting and was very good. I appreciate the gesture from Omni!
Our room was very nice and clean, and had separated room with one king bed and and another with a pull-​out couch. I also the furniture was updated since the last time I stayed there.
Later at night we return where the doorman once greeted up back and opened the door for us. After 10:00 pm the side door entrance is locked and must enter through the lobby. Turndown service had already visited our room and left us some nice holiday chocolates. The bed was comfortable and had a quiet night until the rain started. Apparently there was is a leak in the window seal of which water dripped all night. I was able to go back to sleep.
Another perk is two free beverages delivered to the room in the morning. I also added a few more breakfast items which was added to my bill. The coffee and pastries was good. Check out was easy and fast, and once again had a great stay besides the leak.

When you walk into the property the first thing you notice is it’s an older establishment. The carpet looks like it’s from the 70s. It appears clean though which in my opinion, is far more important. Appears is the key word.
When we got in our room (also outdated) we quickly noticed dust everywhere. Dust??? Are you kidding me? Dead human skin? Gross! To make matters worse in the middle of the night when I went to the restroom I was feeling for a light switch and end up getting dust all on my d*mn hand! It was grey from dust when I got the light on. Ewwwww.
You can tell the grout in the bathroom use to be a very light tan color, and it’s different colors in different spots ranging from brown to black. The toilet is super low, I felt like I was falling just to sit on it. And the room in general just smells dirty.
We are booked for 2 nights, I don’t want to stay tonight! I’d rather find another hotel.

I go there for stay-​cations, and the amenities are great, personnel are very nice. Rooms are very nice like the indoor pool, gym and bar

11/​26/​2015 Thanksgiving Day Buffet, $ 63.91 for one person
This buffet was horrible. I dine at the buffet every year and this year the quality of the food for the up charge of buffet was very poor. The buffet price has gone up a great deal. The dressing was literally slop, runny, no flavor. The supposedly yams were just that — yams. No cinnamon, no sugar and no butter added any where to the sweet potatoes. All of the food was cold, very little vegetable medley was left in the chafing dish, there was no salmon left. Overall, the buffet was the pits. I spoke with the manager for some type of compensation for the horrible food and there was no compensation. He asked me how do I prepare my dressing, which I told him and he asked if I wanted him to prepare some fresh stuffing, which I declined. Now for my girl friend, the manager gave her a beautiful order of salmon with leafy green broccoli and asparagus. She was allowed to take home what she had on her plate since the buffet was so bad. I will not return next year to dine at the buffet due to the poor quality of the food, but I have to say the boiled, cold shrimp were good. The buffet spoiled my appetite so I did not even go for dessert.

Bolos provides great room service as well as comfortable dining experience!
Just ask and they will do their best to meet your dietary needs!
The ability to have such a great and convenient selection prepared by hotel Chefs, a healthy lunch followed by a poolside fruit tray, and a wealthy dinner with cocktails in the piano bar is delightful!
It’s worth mentioning that I am able to arrive with my family, valet the car, and receive everything we need from the hotel and neighboring business’s.
We appreciate the atmosphere and total package the Omni and Bolos has to offer!

Not sure where this Omni went wrong but compared to the one in Ft Worth and the other Omni’s we’ve stayed at this one lacks pretty much everything. The rooms are small and crowded and the ceilings don’t seem like they were built for anyone over 5 feet tall. The bathroom isn’t really big enough to turn around in so make sure you enter knowing what you plan on doing… face right for the sink, face left for the shower… and well… back in for you know what. The only nice things going for this place is everything down in the lobby area. They have a big spacious lobby with a nice gift shop, they have a nice pool and the breakfast was good. I don’t think we will ever stay here again and probably go ahead and tell everyone else reading this to find another hotel unless you like sleeping in a closet.

Really wasn’t impressed with this hotel. Everything was nickle and dime. Checked in and the folks at the desk were super nice. Had an upgraded suite that wasn’t too sweet. It was tired and small and the «view» discussed in the advertisement was a parking lot. The bar area was cool and had a piano player but he was loud & distracting and it took forever to get a drink. The waiter in the restaurant was nice, but so slammed it took forever to work thru with him. This is definitely a place I won’t go again based on the huge availability of other places nearby.

The hotel is very nice. The staff was very accommodating. There were a few minor issues that need to be dealt with. My room key stopped working a couple of hours after we checked in. There was a musty smell in our room that was very evident when the air temp was set above 71. It was also very humid inside the room as if we were in a sauna. The beds were extremely comfortable although the pillows were not as fluffy as I like. My roommate received a complimentary breakfast buffet because of the problems with our room.
The conference facilities are adequate. The pool is excellent and includes a jacuzzi, swim lanes, bar, swim up movies at night, a handicap lift, and an additional indoor pool. There is a full gym with a sauna.
The breakfast buffet is of average quality but expect to pay $ 20. The hotel food was good and there are restaurants nearby. Refrigerators for doggy bags are provided by the hotel based upon availability.

Our second year luncheon for the Readings from the Heart organization was held here as it was last year. Last year it was in the Bolo restaurant. This year it was on the 20^th floor with a marvelous view of the surrounding area. We were attended by two or three servers. I would say there were about 50 of us. We were served very well. A friend of mine did not like the honey butter that was served with the fresh hot rolls (he’s weird like that). No problem, he was brought regular butter. Someone wanted decaf coffee, another no big deal. Very accommodating. The meal was a chicken breast with steamed veggies and rice pilaf. Cheesecake for dessert. The veggies were perfect. Not too mushy, just the right amount of firmness. One bummer, there was no mic for our leader when she spoke; maybe she didn’t ask for one.

Staff is amazing, Luz, Edward, and all the front desk staff. Everyone goes out of their way to be welcoming. The desk in the room itself looked a bit worn, but I like «character» not cookie cutter so it did not bother me.
I like to stay at the Hotel Contessa riverwalk when I can, but when I need to be closer to the airport, this location can’t be beat. It’s within walking distance of two sushi restaurants, a Texas Land n Cattle, a Starbucks, a nail salon, and the HEB which comes in handy for stuff I forgot. I much prefer this property to the Drury Inn across the street, although I realize they are not in the same class (2 star vs. 3 star I think). The airport shuttle is a Lincoln Navigator and everything was smooth. Room service is awesome. I didn’t yet try the pool or other stuff but I look forward to.
Honestly, I have not stayed at other Omni’s so don’t have a frame of reference. Wi-​Fi is free if you get on their mailing list.

My trip to San Antonio was made so much better by staying here. Friendly staff, awesome breakfast, and a good room. The massages are a bit expensive but its awesome.
The view from here is one of the best also, you can see almost all of the entire city in one direction.

Having to stay in S/​A at least a few times a year, I have come to enjoy the Omni as it’s my number one hotel when travelling on business. Why? Well for a couple of reasons…
The hotel itself is clean and nicely decorated. One might not know that looking at it from the outside. The outside just looks «average», far from spectacular but also far, far from downtrodden. Just average. But once you enter, you can tell that the owners and staff take pride in this hotel.
Rooms, while not «huge» are well decorated, with ample closet and drawer space. Beds are always comfortable and the AirCon /​Heating units are not so loud so as to keep you up at night.
And while I didn’t eat there this last visit, the onsite restaurant «Bolo’s» is pretty freakin’ good. The Lobby Bar is a favorite of mine cuz I can pound a few with friends /​co-​workers and not have to worry about driving. The hotel has two pools… an indoor pool, (year round), and an outdoor «seasonal pool».
I suppose my biggest gripe is that if you want and /​or need WiFi, there is a surcharge. (Actually two). Different «levels» depending on what you want to do. A basic $ 9.99 per day package for e-​mail and browsing and a more expensive «hi-​speed» package for gaming. I’m not a gamer (except when it comes to beer) so I went the cheaper route!!!
Located near a couple decent eating establishments, movie theaters, Wal-​Mart, mall and «drinking establishments», i.e., Baker Street Pub for one…
So to recap… For about $ 160/​nite weekdays you get a clean room, über friendly, (and helpful), staff with a great bar, nice eating establishment, 2 pools, slightly above average training room, and no complimentary WiFi.
As Arnold would say… I’ll be back!

The best hotel on this side of town.
I have been several conferences here over the years so I know there is plenty of space for large gatherings.
I have had friends stay here so I have seen first hand that this is a quality hotel.
I enjoy the piano in the lobby bar. Nice way to relax after a rough day.

Not the high quality I expect from Omni, hence 3 stars. But still a solid hotel choice.
Stayed 3 nights, corner room on the fifth floor. Small room, but very comfortable bed, clean, quiet and well appointed.
There is a sink and vanity area outside the bathroom, but the bathroom door is blocked if I try to sit there to do my hair or makeup. An odd arrangement. The bathroom has no fan and stays foggy and humid, also there is only one heat vent so the bathroom is freezing unless you leave the door open.
The fitness center is inside the pool area and closes at 11pm. There are medicine balls, kettle bells, machines, Dumbbells and cardio equipment. The inside and outside pool areas are clean, and inviting.
The outside pool and jacuzzi are heated in the winter. Seems like they have an outside bar and large movie screen/​projector screen.
