Please note: THEREARENOCATSATNINELIVESBOOKS. I preface my review with this statement — not only for people who don’t like cats, but also for people like me, who adore them. See, in previous incarnations, Nine Lives had a couple of resident cats — as well as several cages with adoptable felines. But a few months ago, they moved a few doors down from where they had been. And in the new location — despite the fact they’re still supporting the cat adoption and foster program — their lease does not permit them to have cats in the store(more’s the pity). However, the inventory is very good(high praise from an insatiable bibliophile/audiophile such as myself), and the prices are affordable. On today’s trip, I found spectacular deals on several books I’d wanted for some time — but was too miserly to buy through Amazon. So I didn’t merely get a good price — I also avoided shipping charges! Most shoppers, I think, will understand the pitfalls of resale shops. First, you can’t go in and expect to find a specific title(though you might get lucky and find PRECISELY what you’re seeking); second, browsing is generally the only way to ferret out the gems. Right now, the store isn’t completely settled from the move — in other words, it’s a little chaotic. Nevertheless, the capable staff can assist you in finding what you want!
