WHAT THE FUCK. $ 50 Tim Duncan Punisher edition does not at all have Tim Duncan in it? Lol God your marketing and over all collectors pricing is a complete rip off to San Antonio and the Spurs Nation in general. Total shame.

Great selection of items, essentially nerd Walmart, but the employees were unhelpful.
For a shop so large with so many employees none of them could be bothered to say hello, welcome, or ask if we needed assistance. In fact they all just talked to each other, totally ignoring myself and partner. There was one person who acknowledged our presence, a woman at the exit watching the blind box figures. She was nice but still did not greet us, only spoke when spoken to.
They did appear to have a large tabletop gaming area to the rear right of the entrance, but there were no signs or flyers to offer information about what games were held or when.
I don’t think I will be back in the future because I really feel customer service is the only reason to remain loyal to shops such as these.

I love the events that they throw.
I actually have been here a few times in search for gifts of comic books I can’t find at smaller stores.
They have an amazing variety but what i have learned is that their prices are a higher.
There was a 20 $ difference in price for a figurine I saw from them.
I was looking for a captain America figurine for Christmas. But all the ones I found were 300 $ and up for a small one.
Then I went elsewhere and found one 3X as big at alien worlds for about the same price.
So again, it’s ok for when you can’t find what you need at smaller places but if you research you can find better deals.

Magic singles are substantially overpriced. There are better places in San Antonio to buy them without being gouged. Dragons lair, gamerz pair a dice and knight owl gaming.

Everytime I go there, everyone looks like they are angry except for one girl with glasses. She seems to be the only happy person in that store. I have a problem with the two fat guys by the card section. They always seem like they are angry, whenever you ask them questions, or request help, they sigh and look like they don’t want to be there. The only time that I’ve ever got them to cooperate with me was when someone was supervising them, which is the only time that I see them smile and offer me any help. In the front of the store at the registers they also seem pretty angry. Someone from Heroes and Fantasies might try to claim that I am giving a review that is not deserved, but you can ask anyone who goes there, they would agree with me. I don’t don’t think I will be going back there until Heroes and Fantasies gets some new employees taking over rather than having angry employees who make you not want to purchase anything. I would suggest staying away from this place unless you really desperately want something. I wish I could put zero stars on here.

The selection here is amazing! Tons of comics and back issues, toys and statues like crazy. Love their graphic novels section. Plus tons of stuff for gaming, which I am just getting into. By biggest critique is the pricing. Comics that clearly have a cover price of $ 3.99 have a $ 5 sticker on them. Come on! Not sure where they get the balls to pull that off. If they didn’t pull that bs I would be here every Wednesday. As it is, I take my regular business elsewhere and visit only occasionally.

This was my first time in the new store. It’s huge! What an amazing selection of comics, toys, clothes and collectables. There’s a whole section for games and a quarter of the store dedicated to playing them. This is a dream store for a geek like me.

Nice store with up-​to-​date comics. Don’t expect much if you’re looking for older issues/​graphic novels, though. Passing through San Antonio and wanted to pick up a few things, totaling over $ 100, and the cashier was rude. Poor customer service, and I only got half of what I was looking for. Will not visit again.

Horrible people work here. About 2 to 3 that aren’t d bags. The others act like the nerds who were picked on in school and now that they work in a comic book store they are trying to act cool. Not working. They cuss no matter if there are little kids around. You tell them something and they just laugh or wait for you to walk off to laugh. They just stand around not doing anything and when you ask them a question chances are they won’t know anything. The manager there who I have not seen in a long time Adam needs to learn how to hire people and train them if he is still employed there. Go there for the selection but the price and rude workers have driven away myself and a lot of others. Several other comic book stores in town.

This place is huge! Giant gaming area, cool comic book and nerd stuff. I need to look at my gaps and see if they have the issues. They have lots of stuff to go through.

I’m from Ohio and this is the first comic book store I have been to out of the state. The prices are way to high, books I have seen in the dollar bin in other stores are 5 dollars and up here. Key issues and variants are priced almost double their actual value; however, this store has a lot of inventory. The staff seemed friendly, but I wouldn’t recommend buying anything but new books at this location.

I was so impressed by Heroes and Fantasies! I went in for the first time and was overwhelmed by their selection of comics and toys and clothes and wow, just everything.
As someone new to San Antonio, I was looking for somewhere to set up a pull list and become a regular and for me that’s definitely going to be Heroes and Fantasies. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly and really seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me and helping me find what I wanted.

Wow! The most horrible experience ever!!! I have never been more embarrassed in my life. My fiancé and I went in to show Adam (the owner’s son) our restored Amazing Fantasy 15 and that we would like to come to a trade deal or something because we want a non-​restored. Well, my fiancé had put on hold an edge of spider-​man variant and we had some comics to trade for it (rat queen #1 and star lord #11) that are in good condition. We got a $ 15 trade-​in credit and paid the $ 5 difference. My fiancé asked for a second copy since the one we were getting had some spine dings and he needed a copy for his brother. When we were about to leave Adam comes up to us and says in front of everyone checking out and everyone in the store,“would you want to be my comic book consultant? I mean you obviously knew that this book is worth something. Why didn’t you inform me this is a $ 90 book?” We were so confused and embarrassed. He kept saying we should give him $ 20 on top of our trade-​in but that he didn’t want to ruin our friendship. Who cares what we do with our book. I have a Gwen Stacy collection and my fiancée brother likes spider-​man books of any kind. We’re not like those Wednesday regulars who know what piles of comics to grab. Plus, most likely this book will not be worth whatever price he is saying in a few weeks. Prices almost always fluctuate with moderns. We never had this problem when we were in Corpus. The guy there knew which of his modern comics and variants went up in price and he would always tell us, «they’re marked as is from when I first got them. I don’t change the price.» Because of this horrible experience I never want to return to there. This is the first time I’ve been embarrassed publicly by someone that made me cry when I got to the car.

Love to come here on the weekends with my son. He gets to look at and buy Marvel and Star Wars stuff you just can’t find at most local toy stores. This place definitely provides a wide array of collectibles and comics as well as events.

Is this place overpriced? Sure. Do they have everything you want, uh yeah. One thing I like is that you can literally lay-​away anything in the store, with a certain amount down and scheduled payments. The layout is super organized and I really like the «Pops» figures they sell. The staff is always cool too.
One really great thing is the will take care of certifying your comics. It’s a huge convenience and I can assure you it is not a common practice for comic book stores to provide the service.

Crappy service, great variety! If it weren’t for it being one of the only shops in san antonio I wouldn’t come!

Very extensive inventory and amazingly knowledgeable staff. There is also a $ 1 Dice game for a random pokemon card!

Geekvana! Nerd heaven! Either of those would better describe this awesome place. I’m a fan, hands down. They have everything you nerdaciously might desire. Collectibles, comics, graphic novels, toys, clothing, tons and tons of gift ideas, etc. There’s even a second room for game play. I was told that they are currently restructuring the ordering process so that when someone like me comes in looking for Hellboy, Lobster Johnson or Y the Last Man they will have on hand every issue of that title. I’m looking forward to this change. Big thumbs up from me, and I patiently await the restructuring :-) But this shop still has everything. I especially liked the old school spiderman posters. They even had party décor with themed plates, cups and banners. The staff was friendly and helpful. The young man took the time to walk me over and show me where the graphic novel I was looking for was located. Sadly I had walked right passed it. The place was clean and everything in it’s place. This is my go-​to for my geek fix, and after reading this I hope it becomes yours too!

Let’s start with the smell. You walk in and it is overwhelming. Either something has died in the ventilation system or there is a pile of garbage rotting away in a forgotten corner. Either way, I couldn’t walk around without holding my hand to my nose and I’m not that sensitive to such things.
I had heard a lot about their retro toy selection, but was completely underwhelmed. When I think «retro» I think 70s Star Wars. This was all Phantom Menace and other assorted 90s also-​rans. The only vintage stuff was what appeared to be random collections taken from garage sales and marked up to extortion for mafia money laundering prices.
And let’s not even get started on customer service. This place is more of a swap-​meet than an actual store. Each sections looks to have it’s own clerks and registers (MTG, comics, general) and fuck you if you want to buy something. Way to busy fucking around on the internet to actually make a sale.
It is kind of neat to see just so much stuff in one place and to take a few strange detours down memory lane. But it leaves you wishing for what they don’t have rather than what they do.
