A decent, no frills, high quality vegetarian place with fresh ingredients and a fair price. Highly recommended if diabetes, colon cancer, and low energy are not on your menu for the day.

Love this place! Perfect place for lunch, they load you up with all of their delicious veggies, falafels and sauces! I could eat here damn near everyday, and I’m not a vegetarian.

If I could? I would eat there everymeal. I always get the spicy Pita with everything… EVERYBITEIS A KOSHERFLAVORRAINBOWTHATCHANGESYOURSOUL. Honestly? For $ 8, you get a lot of food(6’4″, 230lbs Dude here), that is always fresh, never lets you down, and just… its just glorious. I can’t help but use hyperbole when describing this place to my friends, and not one of them ever leaves without catching the same enthusiasm. PRO: It’s a Food Unicorn that prances up to you full of Glory and nutrition. CON: The Pita is so fresh sometimes you have to wait a little bit. It’s kind of a humble-brag of cons, but thats it.

I LOVE Moshe’s. The falafel is tasty, the veggie sides are super fresh, the portions hearty, and it takes no time to get through their line. This spot really fills a hole that would be in the San Antonio Mediterranean market. I only remove a star because their hours are bonkers. They’re closed on Saturdays(who does that??) and we’ve found them closed other days when they’re listed as open. For instance, last night I wanted their sweet falafel plate and even checked Unilocal to make sure they were open before going. But lo and behold, at 6pm on a Thursday they were closed. So call before you go, but definitely try to go.

WHATTOORDER: The falafel plate with everything! This is one of the most unique places to eat in SA! And they delivered! I only have positive things to say about this restaurant. FOOD: –HOWITWORKS: When you get to the restaurant, you’ll realize it’s served Chipotle style — you pick plate or pita wrap — then you pick the type of falafel(classic green [has parsley, cilantro, mint] or spicy red [harissa and roasted red peppers]) — then you choose 3 sides — can add additional items such as fried eggplant, french fries, fried onions — then add a drink. –WHAT I DID: I chose the PLATE(~$ 8) since I have a hard time eating the pita wrap without everything falling on me. Since I wanted a spicy kick to my food, I choose the SPICYREDFALAFEL which had such a delicious taste profile and not too spicy for anyone who needs mild spicy level! Comes with 3 falafels. Definitely one of the best falafels I’ve ever had in my opinion. ALSO I was super ecstatic to learn that they were going to give me a little bit of every side for my plate! This included hummus, tabbouleh(made with tomatoes, parsley, mint, onion, olive oil, lemon juice), pickles, labneh(greek yogurt), babaganoush(cooked eggplant dip with many seasonings), and israeli salad. And I swear there were probably 5 more sides on my plates I couldn’t even recognize. OMG — the flavor profile is insane! Everything was so, so good and every bite was a punch of flavor! MAJORPRO: I don’t know if this is going to be a thing that goes on forever but currently they are offering a little bit of all of their sides and I encourage everyone to try a little bit of everything! PARKING: This is hard — they have a few(4 – 6) parking spots right in front of their restaurant off the street. Other wise will have to find street parking!

Fresh, flavorful and filling! It is worth noting Moshe’s is certified Kosher. You can count on clean and quality foods served here. We ordered a falafel plate with a little bit of everything and 2FRESH pitas to share. I was excited(and relieved) to see they make their pita. Fresh pita makes a HUGE difference! If it’s your first visit get the plate w everything so you can make educated decisions in the future… because you WILL go back! One may think this a place to nosh, but then finds themselves fressing!

Couldn’t stop thinking about my first visit so I went back for more and now I am hooked. After about 3 times of showing up just to find out that they were closed with no hours posted and then calling several times and not getting anyone to answer I seriously wrote them off. But guess what??? They now have normal business hours and I wish I worked closer. I have had better falafels and better sauces but everything else on the menu throws it out of the park so I am a fan! I paid $ 8.66 for one loaded pita which was more than enough for me … I even threw some away. My husband and I went in and purchased a plate, pita and 3 sides and spent $ 31.12. We totally over ordered but like I mentioned we had really been trying to get in this place and we took the«order everything because who knows when they will be open again» approach. Tables and chairs aren’t meant to keep you hanging out there because they are so uncomfortable but they serve beer so I don’t think they know what they want yet. Warning: don’t go if you are in a hurry! Even though it looks like a chipotle set up it isn’t. They make the falafels and pitas fresh so it takes a while for them to get things going.

The friendly staff provided me with a plate with a little bit of everything(except for the yogurt), and it was all vegan! The menu is very inclusive for us picky eaters with dietary restrictions. I also had the perfectly made pita bread and a hibiscus mint tea. I will definitely be returning for more! This is my new favorite hidden gem in San Antonio. I say hidden because the sign is hard to see, but it’s right in between the liquor store and dry cleaners across the street from Lynn’s Nails on McCullough. Also, the décor is so cute and the atmosphere very open and friendly.

I’m a life-long falafel appreciator. The first time I had it, although I don’t remember, would almost certainly have been at a Greek place — as a vegetarian sort of gyro. In upstate NY during the late 80’s-early 90’s, that’s pretty much the only version that was readily available. As I moved around the country and kept eating falafel, I eventually came to try Lebanese, Syrian, Egyptian, Persian and other versions of falafel. So authentic. .is pretty dang debatable when it comes to falafel. It’s not something I even worry about. What I liked about Moshe’s was, firstly, the pita bread. They make them fresh and get them really crispy on the outside. This is a big deal. All the best falafel I ever had came on or with freshly made pita or sajj bread. You really can’t even talk about great falafel if you’re talking about store bought pitas. The next thing I liked was the freshness. Everything here was fresh and appetizing. Lot’s of high-end ingredients. They don’t skimp on that tahini, either. This leads me to what I maybe didn’t love as much — which was just the assembly of the sandwich. Luckily, they will make it to your order so I can avoid this next time. .but I ordered the«golden» falafel and it came stuffed with so much. . stuff. . that it was a little bit detracting from the falafel itself. One problem, in particular, was the huge mass of tahini. I’m talking about 5 bucks worth, lol. . but it’s not a pleasant mouthful. There’s a reason most of us don’t eat tahini by the spoonful. I really wanted to taste the falalfel itself so I scraped all the stuff off one of the pieces and tried it. A little dry. Definitely not the most flavorful. But definitely not bad, either. It needed something. .saucier. .the super thick yogurt and even thicker tahini didn’t do enough to moisten the falafel. I like the concept and I think there’s a lot of promise here.

Really enjoyed this restaurant which I found by reading an article on Eater. Tiny and hard to find, as a San Antonio native who has lived in Italy for 10 years, I’m impressed with how much the food scene has changed since I first left. Since we are overdosing on holiday snacks, we craved a healthier option and Moshe’s is very highly rated. You can either get a plate or a pita and the range of goodies that come with the falafel are delicious, quinoa, cabbage, cauliflower, beautifully presented and very tasty. Also eclectic drink choices like cream soda, decent wines and beers. The only thing that kept me from rating this a five was that for me, the falafels themselves were a little too hard, it could be that they weren’t fresh but cutting into one almost broke my plastic knife. That being said, this place is a find and I highly recommend it, the pita bread and hummus gets top marks!

The most authentic falafel place in the area. I ordered the plate instead of the pita and our server put a portion of everything from behind the counter. The plate is shareable and comes with a side of fresh pita bread. I was kind of confused and didn’t know what to combine but everything tasted good nonetheless.

Five stars, no doubt. Always, and I mean always, get the pita. They make them fresh upon ordering(so bear with them on the speed of the line!) and it is what puts this place solidly into the five stars range. Even if you get the falafel plate, get one(or more) of the pitas on the side. Also, go all in on the trimmings. On the falafels themselves, I find the spicy(red) version far superior to the non-spicy(green) version. And, the spicy version is actually not that spicy, so even if you don’t like spicy all that much, I would still recommend you go with the red. Other pluses include great sides(both fries and fried eggplant over-perform), the drinks(lemonade is great and I appreciate their range of bottled options), and the super friendly and attentive staff. The only thing that sucks is that it isn’t open for dinner…

I’m super excited about this place. As in, I seriously can’t stop thinking about it since I’ve been there. They have vegan options which is perfect for me. I got the spicy falafel in pita, and took a wonderful trip down their condiment bar. I chose hummus, tabouli, tomatoes, onions, cucumber, and some level 5 red spicy sauce… And I think the spicy sauce was my run away favorite part. Never in my life had I ever dreamed of putting something spicy on a falafel… Apparently I’m confused as to what is right in this world, because I had no idea how amazing this was. The tea was amazing as well, and the fries were hand cut and kosher salted for a delightful side. I also asked the lady behind the counter if I could buy a side of hummus and tabouli to feed my baby and she REFUSED to take a money for it. A real class act! The only possibly negative thing I could even think of is that the line was slightly slower moving than some other places with this chipotle/subway«tell me what you want on it» format… BUT! BUT! I will say that this is a more than fair trade off for the quality of food you’re receiving and the attention to detail that the employees display. They took time to tell me about every item that I wanted to know about, and that pleased me a lot.

Tasty, healthy, and all veg! Moshe’s has quickly become my staple Mediterranean restaurant and a favorite lunch spot. First things first, it’s extremely easy to place your order. You just decide plate or pita, green or spicy red, and if you want side of fries or eggplant with your order. Next comes my favorite part, folks. The server pulls out your plate, dips into whatever assortment of Mediterranean goodness is behind the bar, and presents you a plate chock full of every flavor you could dream of – creamy, spicy, earthy, minty, you name it. At first I was a little wary of all the mixing and piling of different foods onto one dish, but all of the different components come together pretty well. It’s fresh, ridiculously flavorful, and most importantly, delicious. Their tahini sauce is top notch, their fries are crispy, and although I found my falafel to be just a taaad on the dry side, it was jam-packed with flavor. Just drizzle over some of Moshe’s house made sauces, and you’re in business. Lastly, as someone who values as much variety as possible from dine-out options, the plate of vegetables, chickpeas, hummus, cous cous, and the works really hit the spot. With every guest’s all access pass to this delicious bar of middle eastern eats, one may be wondering what a trip to Moshe’s looks like in terms of cost per order. And to that I say that the prices are well-affordable, and in my opinion, well worth the experience. As far as ambiance goes, the interior is bright and airy(with some community tables and a bar on each side of the room) and it always comes with a crowd of cheery folks all around(who wouldn’t be cheery with a belly full of the golden falafel?). The server is extremely friendly when preparing our meals, and we’ve even been lucky enough to catch Mr. Weissman himself serving behind the bar during Sunday lunch hours. My only true downside about Moshe’s is that it’s difficult to find the time to enjoy it during its limited hours of operation from 11 – 3. I end up having to plan my weekend around making it to lunch on time since my office is on the other side of town and I can’t make it during the weekday. But one thing’s for certain — when I do make my way over, be it by a last ditch effort or against all odds, I’m one satisfied customer.

Chef Weissman has done it again. I was honored to have Chef Weissman plate my meal at Moshe this afternoon. Instead of the regular 3 side items, you can get a little of everything. Let me tell you, everything was spectacular. The flavor a of each side item was delightfully delicious without being over powering. I felt each item could stand on it’s own. As someone mentioned earlier, ordering is very simple. The best part is that both featured entrée items are only $ 7. I feel like I’m stealing from them, it’s that ridiculously inexpensive. Since the cost is so low for the high quality of food, how about throw a few bucks to staff as a tip? They definitely deserve it for the awesome meal that they will place sprawling before you. Meat? Not here! But that shouldn’t deter you carnivores out there. I guarantee you won’t miss it. I feel so honored and blessed that this little gem is in my neighborhood. I’m looking forward to many more trips here. Thanks Chef Weissman for you numerous outstanding contributions to the San Antonio food and beverage community. You have proven time and time again that you don’t have to take out a loan to have a mouth-watering nosh. Keep being high-end eats to everyone regardless of the depths of their pockets. Love this place… mean it. Side Note: Next door is Popcorn Place, they have some of the most amazing popcorn you have ever put in and/or around your mouth hole. Once you’ve had your lunch at Moshe, head right next door to Popcorn Place and pick up a snack for later.

Phenomenal falafel has now reached SA! There’s always been a few places to get it, but none have particularly stood out. Here, it’s the specialty. Available as a plate or wrapped in a pita, you can get yours with any number of Mediterranean add-ons: hummus, babaghanouj, tahini, tabouli, pickled veggies, and more. I especially like to add the lebneh, it’s a creamy, cold cheese that adds just the right amount of saltiness to balance out the other ingredients. Service is top-notch: the line goes a little slow, as everything is made to order, but the staff is super friendly and the dining room is kept clean. Props for having wine/beer options. Great location down the street from Temple Beth El– you know the flavors are legit when half the dining room comes in wearing yarmulkes!

Ok. First off, I must admit at first I wasn’t quite sure what we were to eat. The menu board is pretty easy to follow though and we were walked through it. The first question was pita or plate. We opted for plates. Next, green or spicy. One of each, please. The server prepared our plates with a little of almost everything they had: hummus, eggplant, carrot salad, cauliflower, olives, onions, some yogurt sauce, something that looked like small kernel corn, but wasn’t and couscous. Then came the three chunks of falafel and some hot sauce for mine, the spicy plate. It was quite a lot of food. Also had one pita, baked fresh. Hot and puffy. Really nice. Try it.

Sorry for the confusion on the«moved business page» for Moshe’s. I noticed that the address was completely wrong when I was trying to visit a few weeks ago, and if not for the wonderful Unilocaler who had come before me, I would’ve been lost forever! I updated Unilocal about the correct address, and apparently that moves the entire page. Anyway! It’s all fixed now, so now everyone can have the joy of experiencing Moshe’s without the confusion of a wrong address! I was pretty impressed with Moshe’s, because first of all, it’s completely vegetarian(and kosher) and almost vegan! Yay! Second, not only are you able to get their falafel(plate or pita) for only $ 7, you can get all of the sides as well. I was impressed with most of the sides, and the falafel was pretty great as well. Warning, though: I went for the plate but I reallllly wanted a pita as well so I asked for one on the side. That costs an extra $ 2, so just be aware! I’ve heard(on Unilocal) about the crazy stories of weird hours, the restaurant being closed, or lines going out the door. I went on a random Monday or Tuesday right at 11 a.m. when they opened, and I was the only one in there for a good 30 minutes. Andrew Weissman was working the counter, and he gave me the lowdown on all of the sides, falafel, etc. It was an overall great experience, the food was great, customer service was perfect, and I was impressed. So if you had a bad experience, I would recommend trying them again. Hopefully as Moshe’s grows, the kinks will settle themselves out.

As a big fan of the Luxury, I was excited to hear that Andrew Weissman was opening up a new falafel joint. I usually don’t go out of my way for a vegan restaurant, but for falafel and Andrew Weissman I will! The menu is very simple and straightforward and the ordering system is Chipotle-esque. You have your choice of pita vs. plate, original vs. spicy falafel, sides, and drink. Apparently this is the only kosher restaurant with a beer/wine license in San Antonio! I decided to go with the plate and spicy falafel. For the condiments, 3 are included for free. But luckily for me, my server offered a little bit of everything and I could not refuse! Water did not appear to be free($ 2) so I ordered the hibiscus mint tea($ 2) instead. Available sides include fried eggplant, fries, and fried onions. I really enjoyed those crispy chickpea nuggets of goodness. My only complaint was the lack of spiciness, I expected more of a kick. From the homemade pickles to the baba ganoush, all the condiments were excellent. I regret not ordering the fried eggplant! The table next to us ordered some and they were huge slices! I will definitely be back! Next time I’ll try the pita and make sure to get a side of fried eggplant.
