Drove down to Pearl on my lunch break just to get a juice/smoothie– and they were closed with a sign indicating opening on the weekend(only?) I’ve had great experiences and loved what I’ve gotten– both smoothies and juices.

Yeah… what I had(the protein shake with the embarrassing… to me… name) was really good and earned it the above rating. HOWEVER… it just doesn’t outweigh the price and, especially the fact that they tack on a tip with no advance knowledge to their customers. So… thanks, but no thanks!!!

First time trying juicing it was gross and very pricey. Maybe it’s not my thing or I just need to get used to the taste. Service was pretty mellow

Great low key, relaxed atmosphere. Lots of variety in juices and smoothies, which are made with homemade almond or coconut milk. Tried the Cacao Latte and it was excellent. Would definitely recommend if you are in the Pearl area.

One Lucky Duck is a great, healthy stop. The smoothies are delicious and a great meal substitute, especially if you need something on the go. The banana nut shake is one of my favorite shakes they carry. It’s delicious and filling. Their juices are also fantastic.

I hope nobody makes the mistake of believing these four star Unilocal reviews. My boyfriend and I were looking for a vegan friendly restaurant in SA and he found this on Unilocal and we chose it based on the reviews. We wanted a café style meal, so we visited it hoping to grab a sandwich or quick bites. We snagged some beet juice, kombucha, a kale salad, and lettuce wraps with coconut macaroons — — TO A GRANDTOTALOF $ 46.00! Are you kidding me? We thought the nervous cashier, who took forever to ring us up and acted timidly, said $ 26. The kale«salad» was a joke and was a bunch of shredded kale with no other elements except for a viscous dressing and faux cheese– no flavor. While my lettuce wraps were okay, I don’t see how they get off on charging $ 10.50 for two small lettuce wraps. Next– the beet juice was $ 8. Delicious, but I can’t believe how expensive it was. NOWONDER there are no prices anywhere to be seen. I won’t make that mistake again. Last but not least, we were double charged for the macaroons. $ 13 for 6 thumb sized macaroons. The price on the back said $ 7.50. We were already hungry again in two hours– what a waste of money. DONOT visit this place unless you want overpriced, bland food with poor service. I will never visit this place again.

Not exactly thrilled about One Lucky Duck. Stopped in the other day and felt as if the employees were to busy talking amongst themselves that they could care less about the customer who walked in. Ended up only getting the watermelon lemonade(was way bitter for my liking) because everything else seemed way to over priced compared to other juice bars. Ya either love these places or you don’t. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t. Must add though, if they drop their prices and the unfriendly attitudes things could definitely improve.

I was super excited to visit this juice bar while in San Antonio for a conference as I have read all of Sarma’s books. I was pretty disappointed when I walked in… the décor was drab and uninviting. I imagined everything to be bright prink and refreshing-like her books. Instead, it felt dark and there was not much to look at except cheap plastic yellow ducks. She definitely needs to get a designer in there! BUT– my cold-pressed juice was fantastic and I enjoyed a big bag of the raw macaroons with friends whom also loved them! Also — I was totally disappointed in the cheap Microsoft word labels on the bottled juice — where are the cute labels I see on your instagram account? The little things make a difference!

Fresh, wholesome goodness in the form of a shake. I have been multiple times and have yet to be disappointed. The green mango is my go to shake. Refreshing without being overly sweet. The cilantro isn’t overpowering either. The strawberry blonde is a sweet treat. And so is there cashew milk. Yum. Dog friendly, clean, spacious, and very tasty! Minus one star for being pricey. One shake is around $ 7ish, two shakes will easily cost you around $ 16. Only the price makes their shakes a guilty pleasure.

I’m new to juicing. Okay lets face it I’m new to the concept of eating healthy. Being more healthy is something I’ve been researching about for a few months now, and I came across a video about raw foods and a woman named Sarma Melngailis spoke about the benefits of a raw diet. I started to follow her on Twitter, and realized she had a shop in the Pearl Brewery. I stopped in I had a long conversation about how i’m new on my path to a healthier life, turns out the guy was Sarma’s brother, and the gentleman juicing in the back was her father. Being a good dad, he even tried to sell me one of his daughters books. The brother suggested I try a juice with carrot/apple/ginger, it was way better than I thought it would be. It was more than $ 5, but I didn’t think to much of it. I enjoyed my juice, parted ways with my new friends and promised to be back. When I returned a few days later, I may as well had never met the brother, it was like we were strangers. There was a woman who took my order, and I saw they had a almond bread spread for sale, I looked at the price and it was $ 15. I was like” thats out of my budget,” and the cashier said yeah it fancy. Like that justified it. I ordered a large lemonade and it was high too. Thats when I realized the prices are like super high here. All may have been okay if they wouldn’t have totally forgotten me! I was already taking a star away for the flies. But I was like come on man, we talked for like 15 minutes about your family and juicing in general.

A nice cosy place at the Pearl where we have indulged in their excellent juices and smoothies. .er pardon me.shakes. They use nut butters that they make in house and all the food is fresh. We are mildly addicted to their turmeric tonic which literally refreshes you instantly, and the hot pink with the earthy sweet beets balanced with the bracing bite of ginger is a satisfying quaff. They have started offering six course raw vegan meals, and we decided to indulge. The opening salvo was a delicious beet ravioli. Imagine thin slices of earthy beets paired beautifully with a vegan«goat» cheese and the spicy hit of fresh thyme… deliciousness! This was followed by an equally fine carrot ginger soup with a nice balance of sweet creamy hot on one’s palette. The taco that followed has to be eaten to be believed that a vegan taco with a flaxseed crust could taste this good. The main course was a delightful lasagna that layered thin slices if zucchini, marinated in tarragon and thyme, layered with a macadamia nut«ricotta», basil pesto and sun dried tomato pesto. The textures were perfect and this made for fabulous eating. The dessert portion of the meal started with a nicely textured beet and orange granita which was a delightful palette refresher followed by the piece de resistance, a chocolate tart with coconut cream and chocolate sauce. This was a rich dessert! The chocolate tart was a perfect combination of rich dense chocolate and a lightly sandy — crunchy(in a very good way) crust that was fabulous by itself, but over the top with the coconut cream. My wife proclaimed this as the best dessert EVER! All this was coupled by great attentive service and a friendly chat with the owner. This was truly one of the top meals I have had in San Antonio. The price may seem steep to some people, but trust me, once you consume the creations and experience the thought and care that went into each course, you will realize it was worth it.

House made nut milks? Count me in! I love the juices and shakes they have at One Lucky Duck! Their shakes are crazy delicious and super filling. The flavors and ingredient combinations make healthy choices so much more fun and much easier. For on-the-go snacking, they have healthy finger noms like bottled juices, kale chips, macaroons and granola. DEFINITELY give this place a try!

Two words: KALECHIPS! I know I’ll probably sound like a hipster but I don’t care. I really love their kale chips!!! The very first time I tried the lucky duck was at a Unilocal yoga event. They had pineapple chews and kale chips for us to sample. I was hooked. Finally one day I went to their storefront at the pearl. I didn’t find the pineapple chews but I bought a bag of the kale chips and finished it in no time after I got home. Yum! I haven’t tried their juice or the snacks. Maybe I will next time.

I’ve never been anything close to a vegetarian; let alone a vegan, but I was pleasantly surprised with this place when my wife and I stopped in during the Saturday morning farmer’s market. For me, customer service and the interaction between customer and server/employee are two very different and very integral elements that within a solid business model. There’s definitely no shortage of personality or polite customer service here. If a person is interested in a cleanse they are available here. One may also try the«not just juice» cleanse if they aren’t keen on consuming just juice for a few days. Try to give the staff at least 24 hours notice for any orders as a courtesy but I’m sure they will do their best to accommodate any requests. I’m a big meat and fairy consumer but I understand the importance of an occasional cleanse now and then; so, I plan on giving the three day cleanse a try.

I am new to the whole juicing/smoothie thing and am certainly no expert, but I like this place. It actually got me to try my first green juice and I was pleasantly surprised — so much so that I have been back again to get it. The pressed juices are also appear to be good, although I have admittedly gone right down the middle of the fairway with these and only tried the orange juice. The lemonade is tart, tangy, and healthy(agave not sugar sweetened). Only downside is the price — it’s by no means cheap. But, I think you get what you pay for and you are certainly getting quality here.

I read Raw Food Real World and Living Raw Food(written by the NY owner and creator of One Lucky Duck and Pure Food and Wine) 3 years ago and was so excited to see that a One Lucky Duck store opened in San Antonio. It has a similar minimal vibe to the NYC store, albeit less cramped. Similar prices too, which is surprising. Juices are in the $ 6 – 10 range which is pretty in line with the other fresh juice bars in town. I don’t know if the produce is local/organic — didn’t see any signs to indicate it was. Smoothies seemed overpriced, but I didn’t try any. I expect higher prices on juice since it takes a decent amount of produce to make a big cup. Smoothies not so much. My juice was great, nice and spicy. The two ladies behind the counter weren’t overly friendly.

Not my kind of place. Waited about 15 minutes while the woman in front of me described(in great detail) her current feelings and what type of raw food she should be eating to deal with them. Then I paid $ 8 for a glass of juice that was so acidic, I had to pop a couple Zantac after one gulp. If discussing feelings, overpaying for juice and drinking battery acid are your thing, go for it.

I enjoy their pressed juices and the Thai lettuce wraps are pretty awesome. My initial visit had me talking with one of the employees and asking his opinion of what was good, what he preferred, etc. Like a good salesman, he asked me what I was looking for and I said I was open to his suggestions. He said, «I love the Thai lettuce wraps!» So I went for it. I didn’t realize the fridge behind me carried most of everything we talked about. I also grabbed a bag of their macaroons(chocolate) and a green apple pressed juice. The lettuce wraps had plenty of cabbage, carrots, and other delicious vegetables along with a tamarind sauce that really made the flavors come out. The green apple juice included mint, spinach, celery & cucumber. I definitely felt more awake after drinking this. At first I wasn’t quite sure if I’d enjoy something with celery in it since I normally can’t stand the stuff but the juice was actually quite pleasant.

I had two«shakes» which really were just smoothies. I like the fact that the ingredients were all fresh(and organic, I presume?) and the«shakes» were prepared right before my eyes. All in all, I paid $ 17 for two smoothies, one of them which I did not even care for. I believe one of the ingredients in the green mango shake was cilantro, which I love, just not in frosted treat form. It tasted like all I needed were tortilla chips and I would have been set. The blue sunset on the other hand was very tasty… not too bitter and not too sweet. I also had a sip or two of their strawberry blonde smoothie, which was also pretty tasty, just needed sugar. Oh and by the way, they do not add sugar to their shakes so you have to let them know if you want Stevia or agave nectar beforehand. The location is wonderfully located in a cozy little corner at Pearl. I love the fact that I took my Chihuahua in and no one complained about it. Their take-away items look a little small, but I suppose their size fits in with the whole«eating healthy» theme they are attempting to portray. There were a few people in there with laptops, I suppose they got lost on their way to Starbucks ;) Just sayin’ All in all, I would probably be back, especially since I had my eye on a little homemade fig Newton thingy that I saw in the takeaway fridge.

I’ve stopped in twice now for a breakfast treat and could not be happier that Lucky Duck is in the ‘hood! When I say«treat», it definitely is just that. Organic, all-natural, fresh, and healthy! «Shake» is apparently the new hip word for smoothie, so don’t be deterred by thinking you’re getting an ice-cream filled milkshake or anything. I’ve tried the Banana Nut Bread shake, which tastes exactly like the homemade real thing, and was a nice post-lunch sweet treat. The next time, I just asked the barista to surprise me and got a nice Dreamsicle-esque version. You can pick up fresh-pressed juices as well as takeaway lunch items. I can’t wait to try the lettuce wraps and the cantaloupe gazpacho. Welcome to San Antonio, y’all!
