La Quinta Inn & Suites San Antonio Airport

Yeah. LQ is a solid 3 star joint. That’s what I expect when I book. The room was clean and ready. They were kind enough to give me a 2pm check out with no hassle. The front counter was a bit of a busy cluster. Wifi was good and had a strong signal for the 5^th floor. And it’s pet friendly for no charge. That means a bunch. I travel with my hound often, and not having do deal with the usual $ 50 pet fee is a huge bonus.

The hotel is fine. Nothing crazy, but not crappy. The staff was very nice and helpful.
The only complaint I have about this hotel is that our room had a funny smell. It smelled like someone actually smoked inside of it.
Which is weird since this is a 100% smoke free hotel

I recently spent one night at this La Quinta in San Antonio. I really enjoyed my stay and felt that the place may have been renovated recently. I especially liked the bright and cheerful shower curtain in the spacious bathroom. Our room came with two double beds, a large desk, and a mini fridge and microwave. The hotel provides a courtesy shuttle which takes guest anywhere they need to go within two miles of the hotel. I thought that was an incredible touch! We went out to dinner and did some shopping and they picked us back up within minutes of our phone call to them. The shuttle also took us to the airport at 5:00am. We will definitely be back!

Background: I went to Trinity University and although it’s been a decade, I know San Antonio well. I was even here for work last January 2015… I’ve had plenty of family and friends stay in hotels nearby and know the type of hotel experience to expect. I have plenty of friends who still reside in San Antonio.

My wife, puppy, and I visited San Antonio this weekend to visit with friends.
In the early evening we found a large cockroach on the floor in the corner of the room. It appeared dead but started moving when I tried to throw it away. After killing and disposing of the roach, we opted to stay with our friends and avoid finding out if there were more roaches in the room.
When we checked out, the front desk didn’t ask why we were leaving a few hours after checking in and when I mentioned the roach he called to have maintenance check on the room and let me know that he had charged the room to the card on file.
While we ended up forfeiting the cost of a night’s stay, we had a very enjoyable experience staying with our very gracious hosts.
Pros:
Our travel plans changed unexpectedly and we were unable to arrive on the first night of our planned two night stay. I informed the hotel inside the
cancellation window that we would be a day late and understood that we’d still have to pay for both nights.
Over the phone they let me know that they had made a note of the late arrival and would not charge us for the missed night which was an unexpected surprise.

Hotel was clean and modern. They allow small pets, which is why I choose them.
The desk staff were very inept.
I booked two rooms for four people and they charged me for four rooms. Other than poor front desk service the hotel was ok.

If you’re looking for cold showers, hard beds, and nasty toilets this is your place… But I bet you’re not so I would start looking elsewhere.

This hotel is recommended after we realized another one in the area was one of the few in the nation that didn’t accept pets. After going to one off Vance Jackson that looked like a crack hotel, we came to this one and realized this was our best bet for our 10 days of TLE while looking for a home. The staff were always freindly, offering my boys each a gift bag with a bottel of water and a cookie on arrival. My 2 dogs and our cat were never a problem while staying there and there is lots of grass surrounding the property despite the freeways close by so I could walk my dogs easiily. There is a gym that I was able to take my 8 year old son into and a laundry room so I could wash clothes during our 10 days here. Our room was very well decorated with good amenities. The only problem was trying to get housekeeping in their to change trash or bed sheets every day. Not sure why. Our animals were in their kennels if we left the rooms. Breakfast was great with a wide variety as well. It seems to host a lot of meetings and conferences downstairs however, so the first floor can get a bit busy at times.

Family emergency brought us to town. Able to get a reservation quickly and with our dog too. The room was very clean, king bed very comfortable, quiet hotel, excellent service.

Well managed. Check in and check out smooth. Housekeeping, a well oiled machine. Large facility, and staff that keeps pace with demand for services. Hang out areas, breakfast spaces, pool area and accommodations done well. (I’d only want a larger pool, but no matter)
This La Quinta, is pronounced by my GPS as Lane Quinta, is located near the hub of shops and of course, the airport.
I’d stay here again.

So far so good! We got the 2 room King bed apartment. It looks really nice. My only complaint is that someone must have smoked in here before. However, the front desk sent someone up to spray an odor neutralizer which has done its job.
The lobby and rooms looks very nice and modern, good hotel.

Breakfast killed the deal! My wife and, with our young son, booked a night at the La Quinta and while the cost was very high due to the Holiday we found the hotel to be acceptable… until breakfast. The hotel was very busy and we had to wait in line for breakfast, which would have been ok but while we were waiting 9:00 came and the hotel staff immediately removed all the food, even while people were trying to get it. This experience made our stay very unenjoyable and stressful. I would not suggest this hotel to anyone who isn’t an early riser.

Very nice at the front desk! Very clean room. Bathroom was clean and overall had a very good experience!

A real crack head dump! Stay away! This place is something else. In short, the rooms are filthy, shoe marks on bed sheets, guest smoking inside the hallway. When we got to the hotel and saw all this we immediately reported it to the front desk. We cancelled our reservation and went out the front door as quickly as possible and stay across street at the Town Place suites by Marriot. Ten times better, super clean, many amenities and cheaper to top it all!!!

We didn’t stay here but our company has booked several meetings because of the corporate account.
Everything is usually pretty good. No complaints, except one.
Each time we’ve had our meetings it never fails that a housekeeper has to vacuum right outside! You’d think that there could be other times to vacuum.

Room was comfortable, shower handle kept falling to extreme hot water. Hotel was packed and breakfast was non-​existent due to numerous families of 15 people. Dog friendly and grass in the back for them to do business.

Fantastic hotel, recently renovated and incredible value. If you are going to stay at the airport stay here. The nicest people! They welcomed me, realized I had a tough day, and even upgraded me. Absolutely a great hotel.
One change which brought it to 4stars v 5 stars: the air conditioning unit was unbearable in terms of noise. Had to shut it off and deal with a warm room.

This location is AWESOM! I will always stay here in the future. I used to stay at the La Cantera location on FM1604 NW… it has changed names and is too far out to be useful on my visits to San Antonio.
The breakfast is a little lacking, cold cereal, hot waffles,… thats about it. Could stand to have biscuits & gravy, some eggs, sausage, bacon etc. But the rooms are great, clean, and the staff is awesome.
Pet friendly with no hassles. We-​ll be back.

Excellent Property
This is our best stay at this location. Walls & woodwork were freshly painted. All carpet has been replaced or professionally cleaned. Bedspreads complement carpet in halls & rooms. The rooms smell great!
I would like to see more hot foods on the breakfeast bar with the waffles. Like. biscuits & gravy, sausage, bacon. I guess you can’t have it all at this location.
Staff is very friendly, check-​in was short & simple, Room was missing remote control for TV. Took about 20 minutes to get one. Rooms are pet friendly, VERY FRESH AND CLEAN. I like it and will return.

Stayed here for a conference for work, unfortunately. Wifi here is decently fast, and it’s free. Rooms are dated, but fairly clean and large. The walls are paper thin though, I heard peoples’ conversations in the hallway, toilets flushing next door, and doors creaking open. There was a tapping sound in my restroom that was very persistent and annoying. The bed is not uncomfortable, but it’s nothing to write home about.
The free breakfast was better than I expected… a few waffle makers, cold cereal, hard-​boiled eggs, muffins, bananas, apples, and Yoplait yogurt.
I don’t think I’d stay here again if I can help it.
