HOLDUP! WAIT A MINUTE! This HEB has a small restaurant built in and it’s DELICIOUS!!! Large grills of meat cooking and BBQ smoking in the back. I got a two meat BBQ plate and the Mac & Cheese, and baked beans were tasty sides. I was stuffed. Of course the shopping experience was quick, easy and fast. The store was clean, bright and the staff were all very friendly. I must say again the BBQ was AMAZING!!!

Needs to do just a little bit of shopping for the upcoming week. Of course on a Sunday afternoon. It’s going to be crowded and today was no exception. Found a parking spot easily enough and luckily there were still shopping carts left, but not a lot. Spent about half an hour getting the items I needed and then it was up to the registers. Luckily one of the HEB people up front noticed I didn’t have a full cart(waiting in a regular lane) and said I could use an express lane. Otherwise I would have been waiting much longer. The cashier was nice and had me in my way in no time. Couple that with getting out of the parking lot easily and onto Potranco and this was a great visit on a very busy Sunday.

By far our favorite place to grocery shop. My wife and I used to drive by a closer HEB to come to this location. This HEB location also helped us decide on our new house because of its short distance away. We can always count on competitive pricing and friendly helpful staff. Very rarely do we find long lines at the check outs unlike other places. We have also become great acquaintances with some of the staff.

Of all the HEB’s we’ve visited in Texas, this is my favorite. While the layout is extravagant, I absolutely love the little shops within. HEB does a great job with marketing and making this store fun and exciting. My kiddos love the free food samples and HEB bucks!

This is the closest HEB to my house but I feel like no matter what time of day you show up it’s always packed. Besides the masses of people, I do like that this HEB has a decent organic produce area and that the staff are nice. Call me a snob, but my favorite grocery store in town is still Central Market.

Very disappointed that they no longer carry perms for black hair. African American hair care section has gotten smaller. This use to be my one stop shop for everything. I guess I’ll start back going to Walmart or CVS…

The greatest grocery store experience I have ever been a part of. Living in San Antonio for 5 years, i can honestly say, HEB is head and shoulders above any other grocery/market place chain EVER. Quality products, great staff. There is none better.

I usually go first thing in the morning. I made the mistake of going after 1, one day and will never do that again it gets CRAZY! I love HEB. Being new to Texas this was the first grocery store I’ve been to and will most likely not go to another. They have coupons all over the place. Huge selection of stuff to buy. Great garden selection. Huge kitchen item selection with is great for useless utensils junkies like me! Fairly big gluten free selection. And prices very similar if not better than the military commissary(and no surcharge or tipping badgers) Fresh sushi counter. Enormous produce selection and I’ve never(knock on wood) seen any bad/rotten produce here. At checkout I’ve generally always had a friendly cashier and they give my daughter«money» for the HEB machine. It’s like a thing now. Every morning I’m asked if we can go to «the dollar store» she’s won a crap-Ton of crap that makes her silly with excitement. She started saving her points in a coin pouch she won and is saving them up to get other crap. They always ask if I need help to my car which I really appreciate, even though I don’t utilize it.

Great variety, faster to get your items than it is to check out. Seems they have way more express lanes than regular ones.

Since I’m in a new ‘hood, I had to check out the local grocery establishment. This is an HEB on steroids. I also love that you can get yummy Mexican treats as well as sushi. The only con to this place is that it is ALWAYSBUSY. Lots of moms and jobless folks out here apparently because they are always shop shop shop shop shopping at the HEB Plus. Parking can be a b*tch so as long as you’re flexible and don’t mind waiting for the occasional old person, you’re going to be golden.

So here are the pros and cons: Pros: 1. Variety, variety, variety! 2. Prices: on par(sometimes better) than Walmart and since I live in the land of Kroger’s now, they are way cheaper than Kroger 3. Cleanliness 4. Employees are nice and I typically will get asked if I need assistance to my car 5. Food demonstrations with free samples 6. Hello sushi! 7. Your gas prices are typically good and unlike the Walmart gas station, I don’t have people wondering around asking me for money. Cons: 1. The layout! Its a massive store and grocery items are mixed in with non grocery items and you walk allover just to get everything you need. Not a good place for a quick in and out trip 2. When you’re busy you tend to do a Walmart and open just 3 or 4 lanes 3. Parking So even though there are some cons, I still say it deserves all 5 stars. I love this place! To conclude, overall HEB Plus, you’re my favorite store and I miss you terribly. Please, please buy out Kroger.

Don’t want to have the ‘People of Wal-Mart’ experience? Come here for the ‘People of HEB Plus’ experience. Alright, I kid. But seriously, I know it’s a chain but this was the first HEBP that I’d ever been to not too long after their grand opening. I like that not too many people come here when it’s later at night(then again, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve shopped here so maybe that’s changed). As Leslie C. pointed out, this place is clean and the people are accomodating. :) :(\_(\ *:(=’ :’) :* *.(,(«)(»)°.*‘”

One of the best HEB’s in town. They have a great selection… the bakery rocks, the store is clean, almost clean enough to eat off the floor(although I don’t recommend doing so), the employees are great and always helpful!!! It’s like Disneyland but without all the rides and cool characters… okay, its not like Disneyland, but you want to go there now… YES!!!

Always clean, with friendly and helpful staff! I was recently there on a stormy day, and they were willing to walk my cart out, carry an umbrella for me, hold my cart while I got my car. Now THAT’S customer service!(I chose to save them, and drench myself — I just ran to my car w/the cart) I love my HEB Plus!

Great selection, cheap food, good sushi, constant samples, nice guys at the fish counter — you just can’t beat this HEB! What I really appreciate is that there are always enough employees working there. Even on the most crowded days, shelves are stocked and the lines move quickly.

Now this isn’t a review on the whole store cause I ain’t got that kind of time. I just wanted to mention something to those of my fellow sushi lovers. HEB makes some dynamite sushi rolls and platters for relatively cheap. The items are time stamped so the best thing to do is shop according to freshness rather than selection. Besides if you love sushi like I do everything they have will appeal to you so you’re best off going with the freshest items. Most time stamps are 10:30, 12:30, 2:30, 4:30 and 5:30 so you can plan your lunch around then. Today I had a temptation roll which had imitation crab, tempura shrimp, avocado, cream cheese, and a spicy sauce. Most items are $ 6.99 to $ 9.99 so you will save a bundle from the traditional sushi joint. For a quick satisfying lunch or dinner this is a good idea.

I love it. Always clean, always stocked, hardly ever wait in line, they are super nice to my children, and with 3 children, 3 and under, i love their double seat carts, it’s twin heaven for this mom. I have to say that Walmart may seem cheaper, but HEB meal deals, combo locos and in store coupons blows Walmart out of the water.

So everyone knows that H.E.B. has been around forever and a day. Most of the time you get a hit or miss with the standard HEB stores. Some dirty, some clean, some with rude employees, some not. You just never know«what» you’re gonna get! Well they certainly raised the bar when the opened HEB Plus! The people are ALWAYS friendly, helpful, and best of all the stores are CLEAN! What I find to be the coolest thing is they actually demonstrate the reciepes they print in the monthy newsletter/advertisement. You can try most of the items featured w/o spending bookoo bucks and then hating it. Personally I wish they would expand their choice of products to give Wal-Mart a run. I would glady choose HEB over«Hell Mart» any day!
