Berk and his team are terrific.
I own a Porsche Cayenne dealer wanted $ 320 for a oil change. $ 120 at GSM!
I was also having a squeaking noise at low speeds while applying the brakes.
Berks team took a look and recommend to save a bit of money waiting until brake pads were shot and then replacing rotors and pads. I liked that rather than just taking my money he was trying to do the right thing for my pocket book and not what would make him money.
I elected to go ahead and replace all rotors and pads. Job was completed quickly and brakes now feel better and no more squeak. Go see Berk!

I definitely would NOT recommend this shop to anyone! It’s hard to believe all of the positive reviews, because my personal experience was so disappointing. I took my VW CC here in July of 2015 because it was shaking upon acceleration. Berk and his team «fixed» it (replaced spark plugs and ignition coil), and told me they found another issue that was not of immediate concern at the time, but would be priority in the next couple of months. I ended up taking my car to the VW dealership in December, due to other unrelated concerns. Remembering that I still needed additional work done and due to Berk’s shop not having any available appointments at the time, I asked VW to repair the leak Berk claimed I had. Coincidentally, they could not confirm that there were any issues with my vehicle. Last week, my car started having the same issues that brought me into Berk’s shop initially. I brought my car back to Berk and when I explained that my car began to shake with acceleration again, his excuse was that the work he completed on my car was almost a year ago. My car was serviced 7 months ago and regardless, my car should still be under warranty for whatever «repairs» Berk did. I also told him that VW didn’t find the leak he suggested would cause grave damage to my car. When I asked if he was going to charge to do another diagnostic, his response was that he ought to, because I went behind his back to verify what he told me was wrong with my car. If that is not an indication that his business is shady, I don’t know what would be! Since when does getting a second opinion dictate how much a business charges you for their service? And being that Berk has a habit of responding to negative reviews by saying that he doesn’t have said clients’ names on record, the minute he replies to my review with that BS, I will upload an invoice with my name, his name, and the company’s name on it as my profile picture :)

Let me say after living in Germany for 12 years I have had no luck in finding outstanding mechanics at a reasonable price till I went to Berk and his mechanics at German Car Specialist. Berk serviced both our Porsche 911 and Cayenne quickly, professionally and at a very reasonable price. I can not emphasize strongly enough that if you are looking to have your Porsche serviced then you have found your place with the gang at German Car Specialist.

I don’t think I could let anyone except Berk and his team work on my wife’s AUDI. They are pro’s at what they do and I would recommend them to anybody that wants a good job done on there car!!!

After some internet research and reading various reviews, I finally decided on German Car Specialists for my BMW X5. I emailed them on Saturday hoping to drop my car off the next Monday. Not only did I get an answer to my email later that day, the owner himself returned it and confirmed me for first thing Monday morning. That kind of customer service in today’s world is rare. After the initial diagnostics, Mr. Berk called me and let me know what they found, the importance of each, and if I could hold off on them. When he called me to let me know she was ready to be picked up, Mr. Berk informed me that they didn’t have to do as much as we initially thought and that my charge was significantly reduced. I am so impressed with he and his staff that I am now a loyal customer for life. Hats off to you and your team. You have surrounded yourself with quality individuals and it shows. Julian

Wonderful service which I expected because I read reviews for all BMW repair shops in San Antonio before giving GCS a call and yet still I was amazed! Berk was able to fit me in the same day I called and take care of my 60k-​mile service, wiper, fluids, brakes, etc. for a fraction of the price from anywhere else I checked. Berk is very courteous and explains everything and even took the time to show me the old spark plugs. I won’t be taking my BMW anywhere else! So glad I found a trustworthy shop with fast service and great prices. Thank you!

I’ve taken my ’07 BMW 335 here based on the great reviews. I have been very pleased with the no nonsense and professional approach that these guys have. I feel confident in their knowledge, their work ethic, and their value. Would recommend highly.

We’ve been in San Antonio for about a year. We have had multiple bad experiences at BMW of San Antonio with both of our BMW’s. Frustrated, I researched to find a place I felt safe bringing our vehicles to. After reading reviews, I booked an appt with GCS. My email was responded to within 30 min and I was able to get the first appt available. I was greeted by the owner right away. Great service, clean and comfortable waiting room, friendly, honest and affordable. I was offered refreshments multiple times. Even after I had paid for the service with my card, I mentioned I had «checked in» on Unilocal and Berk gave me a 10% refund back on my card. I wasn’t expecting that but it was a great surprise! I’m so glad we found GCS! We will be back!

Really well done. I blew a the main seal in my VW Passat. They got me in right away and had it back on the road within a day. The price was painful but very good.

The level of detail taken and the service received exceeds my expectations each and every time I pick up my car from this place. From the routine oil changes to full on suspension replacement, I’ve had nothing but a smile on my face when I get my Audi back… the list of high performance and luxury vehicles that these guys specialize in is endless, and They have my full trust when it come to my vehicles… thank you fellas

In response, I do know what slippage of a transmission means. My car daily would jerk in between shifting gears and wouldn’t accelerate quickly, you do have to drive it fast for a few minutes to see it won’t accelerate. Ancira Volkswagen found the problem (Valve Body being replaced) and is getting my business instead. There’s nothing worse than being the customer and told you’re wrong and don’t know what you’re talking about.

I was able to receive an estimate and book the appointment all via email. They were responsive and informative. They completed the work in the time frame that they promised. Great stuff!

Service, expertise, and transperency… three things that you very rarely get all together. Berk and his shop is the embodiment of those three simple things. It is obvious that they run the type of shop that you can recommend to anyone, and know that they will be properly treated and their needs met without overselling them on some dishonest thing or another. I will absolutely go there again and recommend to anybody who needs service to try them without hesitation.

I read a few of the negative reviews. I have been going here over 6 years and trust no one else with my BMW. Frankly, they know too much about BMWs. Information I thought to myself «why would they even know that»…probably because they are good at what they do. The shop is solid;from Berk, the always accommodating and helpful owner, to Mark their wiz car technician. You can count on honesty and a place that genuinely wants to get you back on the road safe and smiling. Once you go here you keep coming back for your future needs.

This last week I drove from Oregon to San Antonio, Texas to take delivery of a Porsche 911 4S 996. After purchasing the vehicle I immediately took it to Berk at German Car Specialists for service to make sure it was running in the best condition possible. Berk replaced the IMS bearing upon multiple other recommended services to make sure I felt secure in driving this 911 for thousands of miles to come. This company takes care of you. They’re incredibly passionate about the work they do, their technicians are the best in the business, and they get things done in a timely manner. In my scenario multiple Porsche specialists worked on my car at the same time. If you have a German car, and you need anything done (even just an oil change) call them. You won’t regret it.

Berk and the team at GCS are great! I’ve been coming to them for years. Most recent visit was for repairing a DCT leak on my E92 M3. Professional, friendly and helpful. They’ve always been honest and upfront with any work that needs to be done and for a reasonable price.

Dishonest, do not trust them!
Took my Audi in for a clutch change and they tried to rip me off by telling me that I also had to replace the starter (I never had any starter problems before), because the clutch dust fell onto the starter and that caused it to break. I did not believe their fairy tale and just refused to change it, went to the store, called the owner out on his bs, he got angry and told me that they will see what they can do. The next morning they call me and tell me that my car is ready. The receptionist explained in a frustrated voice, the kind of voice a little kid has when he does not get things to go his way, that they just cleaned the dust off the starter to get it to work. Lol hooookay.
Never took my cars there again and do not recommend for you to either, unless you want to hear some bs story and pay for some «repairs» that you do not need!

GCS is awesome, i have been bringing my cars to them for years. When the dealership has been a let down GCS has always been there for me and my cars. Its the only euroservice i trust and recommend them highly from a simple oil change to a full build these guys are knowledgable. Their techs are highly experienced and come with a background working for porsche, bmw, mercedes, vw, and ferrari. Stop by and check them out, their waiting room is awesome.
