Culpepper Cleaners

I’m not sure what is going on at Culpepper’s. A few months ago I would say a solid five stars. They use to do great work. I would say easily the best in all of San Antonio; however, within the last few months (probably beginning around the holidays) I have started to notice a strong smell on my clothes, kind of like an auto garage. I also noticed they changed the bags that go over the clothes and the ink used on the writing on the bags flakes off, so I get black stuff all over my hands. I mentioned the smell to them the last time I went in and I was told they don’t know what is going on and they are getting lots of complaints. I hope they figure it out soon, so I don’t have to find a new dry cleaner.

I’ve been coming here for about 3 years now and never really had a problem. I’ve noticed lately that some of the staff has changed and the quality has been disappointing. My most recent encounter was with the manager who gave me the wrong clothes. I tried to explain that this wasn’t the first incident but she kept cutting me off explaining nothing is guaranteed. That was a turn off of the attitude a manager giving a loyal customer. I simply wanted to make sure this doesn’t happen throughout the whole store because even though she doesn’t make the error that no one else does. If you can’t at least guarantee an exceptional service then this store has fell short of quality.
I’ve gotten several pieces back that weren’t mine and had missing pieces disappear. I wish there would be a more optimistic attitude in this store.
In another incident I was told by an employee that same day service doesn’t always mean «same day». I asked another employee if that was true and he replied that it wasn’t. This mislead of wrong information has strayed me even further doing business with them.

This was the first time I ever had my clothes dry cleaned so I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know how I wanted them starched so she said they would follow the care instructions. I had twelve pieces, including two pants with rips in them and they repaired them beautifully. One of my shirts had the worst stains on it, and had been in my closet that way for years. She made it clear she didn’t think the stains were coming out, but I told her that was ok. Everything came back looking brand new, it was like I just came home from the mall. I’ll definitely go back to Culpepper Cleaners the next time I need dry cleaning or repairs.

Culpeppers is pricey like everyone says, but I say they are the best. I’ve been going to Culpeppers my whole life, and I trust them with my precious items — they even cleaned and preserved my wedding dress. I know a couple employees by name and they always greet me when I enter. Also when I was under the gun to get my bridesmaids dresses pressed they made sure they were pressed and back in time for me. All in all, it’s a nice establishment with friendly service and quality work.

Culpepper does a great job. They aren’t the cheapest in town, but they’re my choice to take care of nicer garments.
My one issue with them is that they occasionally press my dress shirts with odd creases near the buttons, making the shirts look funny when worn.
Overall, I would recommend them.

Clothes are done right! I have never had a problem with these guys and they follow instructions to the tee. They keep me pressed and happy (reasonably prices) and they even have one day service.
