Description

Specialties

CommonWealth is an uncommon San Antonio coffeehouse and bakery, intensely dedicated on serving the best and freshest products in our community. We work with local roasters and grind our own beans and our bakers are straight from France. Our passion centers on serving only the highest-quality coffee and French pastries. That’s why we make everything fresh, every day. At CommonWealth Coffeehouse & Bakery, you are always welcome.

History

Established in 2014.

In January 2015, CommonWealth Coffeehouse & Bakery opened the front door of a completely renovated historic house at 118 Davis Court.

The two owners’, Herrero and Campos vision was to create a place where the French artisanal tradition of making bread and pastries could be experienced in San Antonio. It was in honor of this vision that they brought directly from France a 3rd generation baker, Vincent Lacoste.

Vince prides his reputation on his family’s tradition; the Lacoste own three bakeries back in France. Vince’s passion for his métier (profession) dates back to the years of his grandfather, for it was through him that the art of baking artisanal breads and pastries passed.

Pairing Jorge and Jose’s passion for French food and excellence, along with a genuine desire to promote local trade, CommonWealth works with local coffee roasters. These coffee beans, matched with our LaMarzocco espresso machine, imported directly from Italy make for a unique and unmatched coffee experience.
