Call me a pessimist but I usually reserve my comments for bad experiences. Having said that I have never been this impressed with an establishment in San Antonio EVER. And today I had the luck to discover TWO amazing places to rave about! The first is most definitely this wonderful gem. EVERYONE is friendly and knowledgeable and they have an amazing ability to make you feel at home, these same people then recommended a bar a short block away to spend our (very brief) wait time called ‘the looking glass’ which is also great (review on their site to follow). Point is, great prices, great service, and honestly I just want to be these people’s friend…

You get what you pay for and then some. They are open to customer requests. Experience? these guys have it. They are the only ones in town I would trust w/​specialty equipment such as Remote start alarms, audio equipment, tint. There is nothing these electronics wizards can’t conquer. I have recommended this shop to many people and all with good results. Why? It’s because they do it right and if it’s not done right they will make it right. They have a great parts network in the city and can get hard to find parts fast. Richard, Memo, Chin and Edward are a tight knit crew of professionals. Let them help you get a great installation on anything for your vehicle. Commercial vehicles can also be done. Own vans with expensive equipment aboard? Secure it with an alarm form ALAMO AUTO SOUND & SECURITY. Listen to the pointers they give they are very helpful and knowledgeable of every product they sale. Professional work and the guys there made sure they explain everything installed. I got a Pioneer NEX 6100 w/​Backup camera on my 14′ Chevy Silverado. Not only did they guarantee their work but everything was explained on how it was installed and programmed. Got a Viper auto startup alarm installed in Infinity G37S and love how it works. A bit pricey but well worth it because I went to Mothers once to buy an alarm and have it installed at a cheaper price; never worked correctly so I had them uninstall it and returned the alarm for a refund.

My Viper Alarm disabled my truck and I could not find anyone to come out to our house (26 miles SE of SA) to remove it. Everyone wanted to tow the vehicle to them, William said he would come out and service it. I called this morning at 930am and by 1130am the truck was back in operation. Exceptional service, along with be very profession. I strongly recommend this business.

Absolutely amazing, had a backup camera with a rear view mirror display installed on my SUV. Timely service and very professionally done.
The backup camera works exactly as it should: on when I want it (reverse gear) and off when I don’t.
They really cleaned up nicely as well. No wires hanging loose or visible. Simply state of the art.

I’ve been coming here for about 7 years and the guys have always gone the extra mile to fix my truck alarm and stereo. When I had my trail truck they also helped me wiring the switch box and lights.
Just went back today to have my alarm antenna replaced since the windshield installers cut the old one.
I highly recommend their shop, they’ve always done a great job for a great price.

I had these guys install a factory bluetooth retrofit, tint, and radar wiring — they did an great job. I intended on trying the install myself until I saw the complexity — the factory manual advised that atleast one trim part would need to be replaced after the install, but these guys were able to save the part… big bonus.
Extremely thorough — Richard went over all of the steps in detail, and Memo walked me through the functionality to make sure everything worked as it should.
I always try to support local businesses, and it’s awesome when they do outstanding work.

Awesome company! Fantastic customer service! From the second I walked in the door they made me feel at home and welcomed. Loved how family oriented the company was. I went in to have them fix the mess my ex and Gunn Chevy did to my after market Pioneer stereo. Memo sat me down, showed me exactly what the problem was and how they would fix it. When I came back that afternoon, my stereo (and backup camera) were fixed better than ever. Definitely going back to get my alarm system installed.

The factory auxiliary jack and power outlet were not working in my car. I read some great Unilocal reviews so I brought my car in. They said they would need a full day to investigate so I left my car in the morning and was told I would receive an update in the afternoon. They did me one better and by the afternoon they fixed the problem altogether. All of the guys I worked with were very professional and respectful. You can tell that they pride themselves on their work. I believe I paid a very fair price for the work they performed and if I ever have an issue again this will be my first stop. Thanks guys!

These guys (brothers) & Edward have it down, Best buy, a-​1 wouldn’t give me straight answers, Richard convinced and persuaded me the right way. He knows Cars and the prices were way below expectations! Looking foward bringing my 2014 Sub, for s remote start to keep my family warm. They Also do tint, GPS, and window tint! They even night me tacos. uncalled for Thats they run their Business, remind someone before me how to SPELL! Customer for life. And they also Solder a every wire, which is +++! Their is gem to talk to Dickie)!!!

This was a good experience in all they made everything right and my alarm is one of the best installments I have ever had. They do the best job on your car I wish I could have bough a more update alarm system. The alarm that they installed fits my needs to protect my car from people that have a interest to break into my car. It also has a sincere that makes people think twice about even getting close to the car and with a viper glow logo, they know that this car is armed. I have Alamo Alarms to thank for there hard work and good services and if there is anything that needs attention they do not hesitate to fix it or make it right.

Great installation of aftermarket stereo and backup camera!
Alamo Audio is a family run business. I was greeted as I pulled into park by King. Super friendly way to start the job! Next I spoke with Memo, who did the installation in my Lexus SC430. I bought the radio and installation kit from Del Rey in Cali (and the company in California gave me the referral for Alamo Audio!) I’m from San Antonio and had never heard of Alamo Audio… and they’ve been in business around 20 years.
I’d gone to Custom Sound and was told they could not install an aftermarket stereo in my SC430. Best Buy put in an ipod connection that messed up the automatic door for the radio cover and sounded staticky. Alamo Audio works with Lexus San Antonio and knew my car. Memo not only fixed everything, he found out my reverse lights didn’t work and went out and bought me new bulbs for my car. I had no idea my reverse lights were out. Seriously, this is as good as it gets!
After all is said and done and installed, they ask me if I’d like to have a beer and play around with the radio to make sure it works, and to show me the features of my new radio. I even met their dad who stopped in to see the boys and have a glass of wine. The people at Alamo Audio could be the nicest people you meet in San Antonio! And they definitely know how to upgrade a stereo system!

I found this place on Unilocal.The reviews gave me the idea that this place was worth trying for getting my car’s windows tinted. The reviews were accurate. The owner took the time to talk to me in detail about the products, and I felt no compulsion to purchase any particular product. More importantly, they don’t do that «bait and switch» tactic that the other shops do, you know, where they advertise the cheapest product and then run it down when you get there and try to upsell you. This factor alone gave me confidence in Alamo Auto. The tint was good, the price was excellent and I would have no hesitation in recommending this business to others.

Alamo Auto Sound & Security is the perfect example of quality service. I learned about their family owned business through Unilocal.The reviews convinced me that this was the place I needed to take my car to be checked. The speakers in my 04′ Subaru STI were on their last leg and I was sick of using my cell phone as my radio. I called up Alamo and Richard was helpful asking the necessary questions to find out my trouble. He asked if I was busy at the moment and invited me to come down to the shop to take a look. His brother Memo and Sean were quick to assess the problem and got to work. 2hrs in and out! Forget Best-​Buy with their mediocre techs doing sub-​par work, and forget the next Car Stereo shop that acts like they don’t want your business. Alamo Auto Sound & Security is top notch. They guarantee excellent work and back it up with a warranty. My car now has its sound back and the price tag was very reasonable. They even inadvertently fixed my window that was making a clunk sound. I will be returning to get my windows tinted and I know I will continue to receive the great service they have provided already.

Memo did a great job on fixing my after market fog lights on my Scion Xb. They wer done wrong by a competitor. He explained the problem to me every step of the way and told me what he was going to do to fix it.

Good job! Quick, saw me the same day I called without an appointment — in and out in two hours. Good job for a high quality product.

After the guys at Best Buy told me that they couldn’t install the alarm I had just purchased, I returned it, and went to see these guys. They had already closed up for the day and their families had joined them for a beer outside. In spite of this, they offered me a drink and inspected the existing system in my truck and then had a half hour conversation with me regarding what my options were. I decided to go with an alarm and added some window tint and they set me up with an appointment the next day. They even drove me to my office after I dropped off my truck. The whole job was done by 530 and everything is working like a champ.
These guys can set you up with more than alarms and audio. They do backup cameras, detailing, and even customize BBQ pits. I will, without a doubt, got to Alamo for anything I need done for this or my future vehicles. Nicest guys I’ve ever done business with.
