This place has really gone downhill. Everyone is always in a rush. And you don’t even get a free drink. I spent two hours here just to get a set taken off and gel nails put on. And guess what? My gel manicure started chipping on the 4th day of having it. I don’t work with my hands. This is ridiculous. I just ended up buying my own gel nail kit so I can do this myself. Ever since Michael and Stacy and the original 5th avenue crew left, this place has been just awful. In fact, when I was sitting there with my poor fingers in acetone for about an hour, a girl who just had a set done the day before, had an entire acrylic nail just come off. They were nice enough to replace it for free, but how frustrating!!! Never never coming back here. Sad. Used to be one of my favorite places. Spend your money at a quality salon like Nail Flower. THEY will take care of you!

Spent 5 minutes here, and thought it seemed pretty legit! I was in for a quick wax, they immediately got me in and done, and for a great price! I’ll be returning! :)

This nail salon is not my regular nail salon that I go to, but I am so glad that I decided to try it! I got a full set, which is not something I have gotten in awhile and it came out very nice. The lady that did my nails took her time and made sure they were the length and shape I wanted. Definitely would go again.

Can I just say Wow! These people are soooo nice! They don’t just rush you in and out, they do an amazing job and do it how you want it not like some of these other salons. They offer services with smile. If you want your nails done ask for ms. LISA, Tran, or Thuy(twee). Tony did my nails and he was such a gentleman he talked with me and made feel just at home. I would recommend to everyone to come here.

This place was just nice enough for a fourth star. I have just moved here from DC and badly wanted a spa pedicure that would make me feel better. I also wanted a place near my new house so I wouldn’t risk getting lost. 5th Avenue Nails looks exactly on the outside as I expected it to on the inside. Very run of the mill. Pros: 1) The Price! Back east I can expect to pay $ 40 – 60 for a «Spa Pedicure» that includes basic pedicure activities, a mask & hot towels. The pedicure menu here range from $ 25 to $ 40 for the general pedi things and $ 50 for an «Organic Spa pedicure» — so of course that’s what I asked for. 2) The Activities! This pedicure had more steps to it than IKEA furniture instructions. There was: the expected attack on my horribly neglected toenails, the scouring of my roughness with two scrape-y things, then a nice scrub with my personally chosen organic scrub(which smelled like lavender babies), then the HOTSTONEMASSAGE(drools), followed by dipping my feet in individual baggies of paraffin wax then wrapping my calves in hot towels. After about four minutes of cooing like a dove my nail tech came back & unwrapped me from my sweet cocoon & promptly painted my nails. 3) The Feels! I cannot describe how surprised I was to receive not one, not even two but three massages throughout my pedicure. That’s a massage after she tackled my nails and applied scrub, a hot stone massage after she cleared that away and a third with lotion after my paraffin dip & towels. I felt so relaxed and well tended to that I was sitting there reading for about ten minutes before she reminded me I was finished & could walk — unless I wanted to keep relaxing(Embarrassing!) 4) You can tip on a credit card! For what I would have paid easily $ 70 for back East, I owed $ 50 and was able to easily tip another $ 10 on my receipt. This is a nightmare other places & many have signs specifically reminding you to use cash. I can’t remember all the things! The only cons I have are: The technicians speak incredibly rough English, to a point where two of them worked together to answer a lady across from me & even then I tried to help in translation. Also, they were talking loudly among themselves in their native language(Vietnamese is soundly like) so much so that I could not totally veg out. …But I forgave her after the second rub down.

I’ve been to several nail salons in the 6 years I’ve lived in San Antonio and this is probably my favorite because of its consistency, friendly staff, cleanliness and overall relaxing environment. I usually only get pedis but I have also gotten shellac manis(regardless of where I get shellac manis they only last a week for me — I’m a mom and do a lot of cleaning). I highly recommend Kim if you like firm massages, which I do :) She also did an excellent job getting rid of my ingrown toe nails(tmi I know). I have yet to find the perfect nail salon but this comes pretty close!

The salon has a nice atmosphere and everything was clean, however I did not have a good experience here. I went with two other women for gel manicures, pedicures, and eyelash extensions. For the money we spent here, the quality was not good at all. My gel nails started chipping 3 days after leaving this place. I’m not sure if they were using poor quality products or if they didn’t put enough coats. However the purpose in getting gel nails is so that they won’t chip. This was only one of my disappointments. The eyelash extensions were definitely an impulse buy. DON’T DOEYELASHEXTENSIONSHERE! Mine looked horrible. I admit it’s my own fault for not researching eyelash extensions, however we wanted to experiment. Just so you know they use individual lash clusters, not individual lashes. I asked for a natural look and got a drag show look. My first sign should have been that they didn’t have any pictures to reference. The lashes looked very fake and stiff. Nothing natural about them. The glue was clumpy and it wasn’t well done. I had to go pay a more reputable place to take them off costing almost as much as I paid to put them on. Save your money, don’t get extensions here. No complaints about the pedicure. Overall, the workers were very nice, but I’m very disappointed in the quality of their products. I won’t return here. There are probably 5 more nail salons within a block radius so I will be trying a new place next time.

I just had the best manicure ever here! I’m super picky and very attentive to details… I read reviews online and decided to stop in since it’s a few minutes from home and I’m glad I did! Michael did my gel manicure and it was awesome! The only reason I didn’t give all 5 stars is bc I would’ve liked to watch videos on tv or something other than listening to country music, but other than that the salon is great. Michael really took the time to care for my nails. The polish was perfect! I also love that they open new items for each manicure. Very sanitary! Oh and the best part of all; the prices! For my manicure and gel polish it was $ 25… The salon I was going to charges for a manicure $ 13 plus gel polish at $ 20. Insane! I was surprised when he said $ 25… I’ll definitely be back!

This was one of the worst pedicures I have ever had. The young girl rushed through my pedicure so fast, not caring if she hurt me through the process. It’s not that they were super busy, she just needed to hurry up and finish my pedicure so she could check her Facebook. A few of the chairs were broken and not properly cleaned. Needless to say, I will never go back to this place.

There was really nothing wrong with my experience, I’ve just had much better for cheaper. Better value. I went a few months ago for spa pedicure. Coming from Hou, I am use to a spa pedicure and manicure, with not only leg foot massage, but 10 minute neck and shoulder massage with mani, all for about $ 45 – 50 ttl. Can’t find the neck/shoulder rub w/mani here in SA. Anyway, for just a spa pedicure with out an amazing foot rub — although you do get one — it was about $ 45. My toenails were a bit crooked and paint chipped very fast. I’ve had the $ 60 basic pedicure with reflexology at expensive day spas. Not what I’m expecting or comparing to here. I just want a basic pedicure with a great massage, long lasting polish on perfect toes for about $ 25 – 30. I can name 4 or 5 salons in Hou that do this. Can’t seem to find in SA. :(

I live close by and decided to try this place out based on the reviews. I made an appointment for a manicure at 10am on a Saturday. I arrived around 10 minutes early and signed myself in, notating I had an appointment. They were pretty busy but only three people were working and of those three, only one was doing nails. On top of that, he kept upselling people to the Shellac manicure which, from my understanding, takes significantly longer. The sign-in sheet was never looked at and I wasn’t even spoken to. Gave up and left at 10:45. Can’t comment on the service, it could have been the best manicure ever but I’m never going back.

This nail spa is near by my house and it is officially my go to spot. They are polite, quick… and always do a good job. I am always very picky about my nails. This place is clean and they offer complete nail care, waxing, facials etc. Only one time on a saturday I had to wait 45 min for a pedicure… but they were very busy so that was ok. If you are in the area… go to 5th Ave Nails. You wont regret it

Great spot for a quick mani pedi, or any quick sop spa needs. They have a clean well kept work area and good ventilation(no fake nail fume cloud) Pricing is very reasonable and competitive. The nail technicians offer great service and are very polite and well trained in both nail care and massage techniques when giving pedicures. They also offer an onsite aesthetician for facials and waxing services.
